Links of the Day
Posted by Frank J. at 10:00 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (13)

Blogging will probably be very sparse for a week or so since I'm really busy at work and I'm getting prepared for my move into my own little piece of the American Dream. Luckily, there are other blogs to read. Kim du Toit gives advice to Muslim extremists on how to destroy American cities. BTW, in reference to his post, I do care about getting an Instapundit permalink. How does one go about getting one? I'll change some core beliefs if I need to (two at most).

Icchan wonders what leads to things like the shooting in Tuscon, AZ (his permalink isn't working; what I'm talking about is his Oct. 28th entry). All I have to say is that I play plenty of violent videogames and I hardly ever kill anyone.

Sorry. There is nothing in the Bill of Rights that gives you the right to "sparse blogging."

This situation will not be tolerated. Your readers expect you to post, regardless of what else is going on in your life.

I'd offer you help you move, but I don't do that; however, I'd be more than happy to stand over you (with a whip--you're probably used to that, as a Catholic) and tell you where to place your furniture.

Not so much that video games cause violence, but more a case of the lack of real death in video games putting that subconscious "death isn't permanent" feeling in your head. The big thing, though, is that loss of reason for being and existence, and the trivialization of human life. Doesn't happen to everyone, but it's a thought as to the lunatic fringe. Who knows, maybe I'm just rambling.

And go easy on my fellow Frank J., Mrs. du Toit, sparseness is a good thing. Gives one a break for a bit. Just gotta time your sparseness right.

I agree with Mrs. du Toit.

As we have been discussing on my blog, citizens have the right to pursue their own happiness as long as they do NOT infringe on the rights of others. I feel that if you do not blog, you are infringing on my right to be entertained (even if you DON'T use paragraphs).

Therefore, I must insist that you continue to blog at the usual pace or I may have to consider legal action against you. I'm looking up the number to the ACLU right now. I smell Constitutional issues here, Frank.

Frank, you have my permission to post sparsely until your move is complete. I'm willing to live without a little of my happiness if it means having you all the more productive in the future.

Heck, I'd come and help you move, but I doubt you're living anywhere close to me. And I need to drive 350 miles tomorrow to retrieve my car (which decided it didn't want to make the entire trip to Los Angeles last weekend and dropped its transmission in the middle of nowhere on Interstate 5).

Just remember the first rule of moving: when you get to your new place, the FIRST thing you do is set up your bed. That way, when you're so exhausted from unpacking that you are falling asleep on your feet, you can just collapse on your already-made bed. If you fail to follow my advice, you're likely to be assembling said bed in the middle of an exhausted stupor.

Good advice on the bed, Steve.

In the future I'll make sure to ask the opinion of my readers before I make any decisions in my personal life that could affect my blogging.

Gee, I dunno! I have thought about this issue and its hard to get clarity. I, therefore, have to say I am totally undecided and it is nagging away like worrying about an early pregnancy test.

Direct TV is sweeping the nation! With direct satellite tv offering hundreds of digital channels and a price cheaper than cable, why not select direct tv? Millions have made the switch to satellite TV. Why wait any longer to switch to direct satellite tv - it's FREE to get started.

A payday loans secured by a personal check - such as a payday loan - is very expensive credit. Let's say you write a personal check for $115 to borrow $100 in quick cash for up to 14 days. The check casher or payday lender agrees to hold the check until your next payday loan cash. At that time, depending on the particular plan, the lender deposits the check, you redeem the check by paying the $115 in cash, or you roll-over the check by paying a fee to extend the payday loans for another two weeks. In this example, the cost of the initial loan is a $15 finance charge and 391 percent APR. If you roll-over the loan three times, the finance charge would climb to $60 to borrow $100 payday loan cash advance.
