Links of the Day
Here are some patriotic links.
Bill Whittle has finally put out his new essay.
Lori has the story of Independence Day with a little more detail than mine.
Emperor Misha I has his own tribute to the U.S. of A. As does Michele (with more links).
Kim du Toit compares and contrasts the U.S. and the E.U.
And, if you have never read it, here is Isaac Asimov's essay on our national anthem... all four stanzas of it.
Finally, here is the Declaration of Independence. Spread the message.
I met Issac Asimov one time at a sci-fi convention in Phila. Nice man, took time to talk to a (then) young fan.
He lived in Phila. during WW2, along with Robert Heinlein, and I believe they worked at the Naval Yard.
Nice essay, I never really read the rest of the Anthem before.
Incidently, it seems that Bill Whittle has another essay up over at ejectejecteject.com.
Rumor has it that its the longest one yet. The servers groan under its mighty weight and the words stretch out beyond the horizon.
LOOK YE MIGHTY AND DESPAIR!
Happy birthday, America :)
I was planning a post on my blog, but I can't post anything right now - the MySQL on my webhost's server has crashed, and it won't probably be fixed till monday.
Anyways, a very happy Independence Day along with my very big thanks from Estonia.
Lets celebrate American Independence Day
