Man, this is a lot of work for one permalink, and I'm just talking about my side to organize this. I decided to sweeten the pot a little, in that the winner will not only get added permanently to my regular blogroll, but get a spot at the top also right under Rachel Lucas and above Liberal Assclown. Plus, the winner can fives times send me a post and it automatically goes to the top of that day's Links of the Day™.

Anyway, using random numbers from random.org, here are the six groups (three of seven and three of six):

Group A:
Proveritate: A Principled Review of Current Events
This Side
Advanced Combo Tricks
Note-It Posts
Ramblings of SilverBlue
Adventures in Troubleshooting
Angelweave

Group B:
Ordinary Galoot
Tiger Raggin' & Rantin'
The Wise Man Says
The Stormin' Mormon
Serenity's Journal
Experimenting with Mental Exhibitionism
Wince and Nod

Group C:
Collinization
Mike
Blog of Xanadu
Mamamontezz's Mental Rumpus Room
Uncategorical
Modular Parrot
Bloviating Inanities

Group D:
Curiosity
Practical Penumbra
The Voodoo Lounge
Little Miss Attila
Happy Furry Puppy Story Time with Norbizness
Over the Edge

Group E:
Who Tends the Fires
Think About It
A Little Aardvark Never Hurt Anyone
A Lone Paladin in Good Company
Ambient Irony
Beth's Contradictory Brain

Group F:
Blather Review
Jennifer's History and Stuff
Right of Center
Bad Money
Kaedrin
One Little Victory

And here is the schedule:

NOW Group A Gets question

7/24 Thursday morning poll is posted of Group C answers and Group D gets questions
7/25 Friday morning poll closes and Group D answers are due
7/28 Monday morning poll is posted of Group D answers and Group E gets questions
7/29 Tuesday morning poll closes and Group E questions are due
7/29 Tuesday night poll is posted of Group E answers and Group F gets questions
7/30 Wednesday night Group F answers are due
7/31 Thursday morning poll is posted of Group F answers

8/4 Monday morning finalists gets questions
8/5 Tuesday morning finalists answers are due
8/5 Tuesday night poll is posted of final answers
8/6 Wednesday night poll closes
8/7 Thursday morning, winner is announced!

Winners are announced an undetermined time after each poll closes, and poll results will be hidden while the poll is running.

Anyway, here are the questions for Group A. They are to be e-mailed to me, and no one can reveal what his or her answers is to the short answer question as the voting is to be blind to who wrote it. If anyone reveals on their site or elsewhere which entry they wrote, they will be disqualified.

GROUP A QUESTIONS:

What is the name of your site?
What is your preferred name as a blogger?
How long have you been blogging?
Give a brief description of your site.
Briefly praise Frank J. and IMAO. Name favorite post.
What's your favorite movie?
Which Simpsons character do you most identify with?

SHORT ANSWER QUESTION: In 200 words or less, describe a situation or crisis in which Aquaman would be a great superhero.

Answers are due 24 hours from this posting. Godspeed.

Rating: 2.5/5 (1 vote cast)

Wouldn't it be simplier to just buy a Nuke The Moon T-shirt?(Gallery Picture coming soon)

Mwah ha ha ha! My (ahem) semi-virgin sacrifice to the Humor god (Frank J., of course. What? You were thinking Scrappleface? Get thee behind me!) must have worked 'cause now my upcoming vacation is no longer a factor.

#2 - Posted by: LittleA on July 16, 2003 08:19 PM

Good point, Dax. I want more pictures!

#3 - Posted by: Frank J. on July 16, 2003 08:28 PM

Aw crap, I'm in group F. Well, this'll gimmee time to work out my template probs!

#4 - Posted by: Tuning Spork on July 16, 2003 08:41 PM

I, too am in group F. I hope I remember I'm in this thing:P

From the looks of it, Frank is going to be awfully tricky. A situation or crisis in which Aquaman would be a great superhero? Aside from the obvious answer ("underwater"), that seems impossible. I think its a trick. Take note group A...

#5 - Posted by: Mark on July 16, 2003 09:09 PM

Well, you won't get e-mail reminders, so you'll have to keep regularly reading my site (oh no! not that!).

#6 - Posted by: Frank J. on July 16, 2003 09:18 PM

Hey, Frank - speaking of Nuke the Moon T-Shirts....

I have received The Shirt. I can already feel its power infusing me, 'tho I've yet to put it on. Yea, verily, when I take The Picture of me in The Shirt wielding my bastard sword, I shall attain Ultimate Power! And I shall use the Ultimate Power! to destroy the enemies of Frank J, including hippies, commies, the part of Glenn Reynolds' brain that keeps him from linking Frank J, the popularity of Scrappleface, Democrats (except Zell Miller), anyone who criticizes Buck The Marine, anyone who gets in the way of Buck The Marine getting together with the Fox News Reporter, and so on and so forth.

Yes! I gaze upon The Shirt and forthwith my senses grow keen and my sword-arm grows strong!

I may even wear my Nuke The Moon shirt for fencing practice this weekend... whoa, talk about Invincible.

#7 - Posted by: Dave on July 16, 2003 09:47 PM

Well, I tried to finagle another permalink after Mean Mr. Mustard announced he would discontinue his blog, but Frank J. sicced Chomps on that suggestion. It didn't stand a chance.:( Oh well, at least he changed the blog to "Over the Edge" (the rest of my Web site retains the name of "ColoradoPsycho.com.")

#8 - Posted by: Bloodthirsty Warmonger on July 16, 2003 10:18 PM

Wow, that really is long and drawn-out...of course I would never question your judgment, but methinks you could have shortened things by announcing the new questions when posting the poll. On the other hand, participants get lengthier times in the spotlight by drawing things out. Being in group F, my time will be this fall. :-)

#9 - Posted by: Jennifer on July 16, 2003 11:03 PM

Wow, that is the greatest question ever... Frank J. You are a good man!

#10 - Posted by: Reed on July 16, 2003 11:10 PM

Its almost as if a technically-minded engineer came up with this contest a la Dilbert's various adventures.

Weeeiiirrddddd.

#11 - Posted by: Neo Anderson on July 17, 2003 12:58 AM

So it will be August before someone might vote me off the island? Frank, do you really think our attention spans are that long?

#12 - Posted by: Susie on July 17, 2003 01:12 AM

I'm sure I'll be bored of this by tomorrow :)

#13 - Posted by: Frank J. on July 17, 2003 06:58 AM

Name: Advanced Combo Tricks
My Name: Tony
How Long: About a year
Brief Description: Anything I'm thinking about, day to day.
Brief Praise: Praise would be an understatement...where do I provide cash offerings?
Favorite Movie: Hunt for Red October
Simpsons Character: I most identify with Apu. :)

Short Response in 5 words: "Wonder Woman Takes a Bath"

#14 - Posted by: Tony Hagale on July 18, 2003 01:20 AM

And...in my sleep deprived state, I screwed up. :)

Apologies all around...

#15 - Posted by: Tony Hagale on July 18, 2003 01:21 AM

That's okay; you can try again when I repeat the contest next decade :)
