Most and Least Hated In My World™ Characters
Posted by Frank J. at 12:09 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (19)

For reference, here was are the results of the poll of which In My World™ character is the most liked, in order from most votes to least votes.

1. Donald Rumsfeld
2. Buck the Marine
3. Chomps, the World's Angriest Dog
4. George W. Bush
5. Fox News Reporter Melinda Hawkish
6. Zatoichi, the Blind Samurai
7. Condoleezza Rice
8. Karl Rove
9. Laura Bush
10. Scot McClellan

Now, with 818 votes, here are the results of the least favorite character poll, in order from least votes to most votes for better comparison.

10. (tie) Buck the Marine - 32 votes (4%)
10. (tie) George W. Bush - 32 votes (4%)
8. Donald Rumsfeld - 48 votes (6%)
7. Condoleezza Rice - 55 votes (7%)
6. Laura Bush - 65 votes (8%)
5. Chomps, the World's Angriest Dog - 66 votes (8%)
4. Fox News Reporter Melinda Hawkish - 69 votes (8%)
3. Karl Rove - 96 votes (12%)
2. Scott McClellan - 141 votes (17%)
1. Zatoichi, the Blind Samurai - 214 votes (26%)

Wow; 48 people hate Donald Rumsfeld the most. Anyone willing to explain, or did you mean to vote Buchanan and made a mistake?

And does this mean I should kill off Zatoichi? But who could defeat the mystical blind samurai?

What should I poll about next? Maybe I should put up a poll...

Rating: 1.3/5 (4 votes cast)

Frank....I like all of your In My World characters, but do you really think, even as badass a Zatoichi is, he could stand up to Rumsfeld AND Chomps at the same time?

But he would have to do something really heinous for that to happen....maybe Rumsfeld could come across of a picture of him working at the New York Times, or maybe he was childhood friends with Tom Daschel. Or maybe he's a closet hippie.

I was the first to vote that I hated Rumsfeld the most.

Mind you, not because I hate him, but no one else had voted for him and I thought he would like to be hated, even if only a little.

#2 - Posted by: Tim E on November 16, 2003 12:36 PM

No, don't kill off anybody! Except democrats, French people, and Michael Moore.

#3 - Posted by: Bulgaroctonus on November 16, 2003 02:03 PM

id still love to know why everyone hates zatoichi. hes a fucking bad ass samuri. he's wise and blind and....stuff. i love that guy. whats not to like?

#4 - Posted by: sad and confused in LA on November 16, 2003 02:29 PM

I like Zatoichi well enough. Scott McClellan is one of my favorites. I'd say that "In My World" needs him as a kind of "straight man" to offset just how weird everyone else is.

Also, Karl Rove as a prophet is really funny.

#5 - Posted by: LACAstronomer on November 16, 2003 02:35 PM

I think the problem is that among the canidates Zatoichi is the most foreign.

#6 - Posted by: IkkonoIshi on November 16, 2003 02:36 PM

I don't think anyone actually hates Zatoichi. It's just that, among the list of characters, the others are more loved. If you added a new character, such as Achmed: Saddam's butt-monkey, and then polled between him and Zatoichi, the Samurai would definitely be shown to be loved.

Of course, Zatoichi could always beat Aquaman.

Frank, you seem to assume that only like-minded people ever visit your site, despite the hate email and posts you get from time to time.
Clearly, with the exception of the post above, all of the Rumsfeld haters are the libs who sneak here and fear his utter hatred of hippies and people who disagree with him.

And Zatiochi is the man. Instead of killing him off, you should have him kill all of the people who don't like him.

Heya frank, I was one of the idiots that voted Donald Rumsfeld as worst character. But I swear it to you, it was by total accident. It was a day or two after the "favortie character poll" (in which I voted rumsfeld) then I was at a different computer and noticed what seemed to be the same poll...So being the loatheful unhonest person I am, I voted again....for Rumsfeld....when it was really the "Least favorite character" poll. Sorry about that. Don't tell Donald...

#9 - Posted by: Sloofus on November 16, 2003 04:51 PM

WOT, but I'd just like to say that Ted Rall is a commie asshole.

#10 - Posted by: MonkeyPants on November 16, 2003 06:24 PM

Ted Rall is my least favorite character. And then Michael Moore and Al Franken and....

wait, I must be looking at the wrong poll.

#11 - Posted by: alfredo stroessner on November 16, 2003 06:39 PM

I think you should kill off Scott. Scott's a little queer compared to Ari. Ari was a man's man. He drank at press conferences, threatened reporters and Daschel, and beat up hippies.

#12 - Posted by: Nick on November 16, 2003 07:57 PM

Keep 'em all, even Scott and certainly Zatiochi. Maybe Zatiochi is the most hated because he's so hard to spell. I had to use cut and paste.

Yours,
Wince

#13 - Posted by: Wince and Nod on November 17, 2003 02:12 AM

I voted for Zatoichi because he's my least favorite of those characters, doesn't mean I don't like him though!

#14 - Posted by: Brandon Winkel on November 17, 2003 02:46 AM

You MUST keep zatoichi. Who else is gonna wake fro a sound sleep and slice four flies in half then mutter to himself?
Besides, someone needs to trim chomps' toenails. Who else is goona be that fast or that good?

#15 - Posted by: mark on November 17, 2003 09:41 AM

Zatoichi's the weakest since he's just a guy from a lot of movies. (though the new Kitano one appears to be looking mighty good) I do appreciate how treacherous he is though...

#16 - Posted by: Peter B on November 17, 2003 09:46 AM

I vote a whole bunch for Laura Bush as most favorite. I know I'm voting a bit late, but the supreme court of my state says my votes are ok. Please adjust the vote count to put Laura in first place...or maybe I'll be forced to sue.

#17 - Posted by: Chad on November 17, 2003 11:41 AM

You should make a Rumsfeld fan club. I know I would join! He's undoubtedly my favorite. I hope he becomes president. Also, he should duke it out with Hillary Clinton.
