Damn, I Love the Smell of Mudslinging in the Morning
I was starting to get bored of this primary crap, but then things got fun again. God, I love politics. I'm going to be glued to the news channels this weekend. UPDATE: I see all these different people trying to analyze this seriously, like fretting about having another sex scandal is going to dominate the media when this should be about serious things like war, but my only reaction upon hearing this was, "What fun! I can't wait to see the fallout of this one!" Does that make me jaded about politics or the opposite? Anyway, for a political junkie, this is the equivalent of free crack. 44 Responses To "Damn, I Love the Smell of Mudslinging in the Morning"
FIRST!! #1 - Posted by: on February 12, 2004 01:02 PM(Damn, it helps to have auto-remember on... It WAS me - it really, really WAS me!) Anyway, do you smell something? It vaguely like that icky Clintonesque odor creeping back. Damn, watching the Dems race is better than waiting for the inevitable flaming NASCAR wrecks... #2 - Posted by: Rubber(Red)neck on February 12, 2004 01:06 PMI have it from a reliable source that monica lewinsky is now in france. could it be? please tell me it's true. #3 - Posted by: mikey on February 12, 2004 01:33 PMYippie!!! I can't wait to get to read all of the quotes about how "this is only about sex!!! It doesn't matter" put up against all of the "what a filandering opressing cheauvanist (sp?) the John F-ing Kerry is!!!". (Now that F-ing thing might take on a whole *new* meaning) The Election year is finally here! #4 - Posted by: MMW on February 12, 2004 01:35 PMDo you hear that? That's the sound of Democrats everywhere weeping as they come to the realization that they have no freaking chance. #5 - Posted by: Big Dog on February 12, 2004 01:56 PMI don't get it. The guy is ugly. And so was Clinton. I don't get it. #6 - Posted by: jonag on February 12, 2004 02:04 PMJonag, that's true that Clinton is ugly. Have you ever seen the size of his feet ? #7 - Posted by: Amphitryon on February 12, 2004 02:10 PMSince when has gettin' some "strange" on the side been "un-american"? #8 - Posted by: ~A~ on February 12, 2004 02:29 PMI don't get it. #9 - Posted by: The Vigilante on February 12, 2004 02:39 PMIf someone cheats on their wife they ain't gonna think twice about cheating me. -strange- how true #10 - Posted by: gibsonrlz on February 12, 2004 02:42 PM"If someone cheats on their wife they ain't gonna think twice about cheating me. -strange- how true." Politicians are, by definition, cheats and thieves. You expected something different? #11 - Posted by: ~A~ on February 12, 2004 02:55 PMheehee.... I love it. I can't wait to see it on the news. But why did Clark then turn around and endorse Kerry after dropping out? This I don't understand... unless Kerry is dangling the VP spot in front of him. Hmmmm. #12 - Posted by: Cpt.Dysentery on February 12, 2004 03:00 PM...or unless Drudge is full of shit...which is par for the course. #13 - Posted by: ~A~ on February 12, 2004 03:07 PM~A~, un-American are interested about it when their countries are being corrupted by other governments. Many people don't like Bush because he is doing protectionism in America, but I think that he is more honest about this, that he does not try to corrupt as Clinton does. Clinton has developed the art of the American superiority. When you follow the stories about the CIA in the United-States, those stories are amplified out of the United-States. Personally, I have supported the war because the President was Bush, because that's true that there are affairs around the oil contracts, but at least the American fought for it, they have taken risks and because the level of the corruption, if any, still be an interior affair between the Iraqi people and the US. When Clinton corrupts other people countries, I just feel hate to him to dare consider foreigners from his high pedestal with the disdain which is the main character of Clinton. Bush has many weaknesses, he is even dummy and infantile but he listens and always try to find the good solutions to any kind of problem. As long as Bush considers the life of the soldiers as a priority, I will have respect to him. If not, I would understand what you wrote ~A~, but I think also that service men have duties. The security of America is the main duty they have. #14 - Posted by: Amphitryon on February 12, 2004 03:08 PM~A~, shit is precisely the kind of smell that Frank so love. #15 - Posted by: Amphitryon on February 12, 2004 03:11 PMAmphitryon, It's gotta be the hair. Kerry and Clinton both have that ridiculously false hair. So does the Vice President of the company I work for, and women always think he's smooth. (Despite being like, 900.) You know how hunters use the stinky stuff to lure the game? Maybe there's a secret Bitch-Attraction Chemical in the shampoo they're using. I bet it's Biolage.. they don't look like Redken men. #17 - Posted by: Sarah on February 12, 2004 03:39 PMSome women only consider men as plush, it's probably the reason why. Maybe, we should attack Kerry about his non conventional hairstyle, saying that it is a forgery of fur that outrages the Society for the Protection of Wilde Animals. #18 - Posted by: Amphitryon on February 12, 2004 03:59 PMWith a tail, Kerry could play in Davy Crocket. #19 - Posted by: Amphitryon on February 12, 2004 04:02 PMIf this proves anything, it's that democrats have so much love to give, they have to spread it around instead of piling it all on their spouse. #20 - Posted by: BlameBush on February 12, 2004 04:15 PMHad to get her out of the country, Rock Creek Park was full. #21 - Posted by: Amos Anon on February 12, 2004 04:29 PMIt has been obvious for a long time that the democrats don't care about that sort of thing. Just look at their messiah John Kennedy. If they rushed the woman out of the country, I wonder where she went. Could it be that Kerry doesn't just look french? Might he have connections there? ~A~, I probably have a different regard on the Iraq war than yours. I think that considering the problems between Israel and Palestine, Europe, the Sovereignty of Jordan, the Sovereignty of Saudi and its role in the world, the war was a good opportunity to deal on the ground with the problems that have resulted in the terrorism acts of the World Trade Center. The Shiites, and particularly Iran, have always be cooperative with the US after September 11th, and also Bush calls Iran the axis of evil, it is the only Arab country were people have dared to demonstrate in the streets their support to the American people. Saudi is divided, but the king of Saudi still supports the US. We cannot condemn all a country because of some of its people, or America would not be any more America. US troops have learnt this lesson during the war, that among the Iraqis, there had friends and enemies. They have to fight the enemies, and it is difficult to protect the friends, but they have done a great job because some truths are coming out. The main terrorist in Iraq is a Jordanian organization, and Jordan is the only country in the Middle East that have interests both on Palestine, Jerusalem and Iraq. The dream of King Abdullah is to have Jerusalem as the Muslim holly place that would recognize him the holly link to Prophet Muhammad. The king of Saudi does not have any direct link with the Prophet Mohammad, but he his the holly keeper of the Mecca. Among all, Jordan is the country that had the more interests against Israel, against the US, and with support of European countries (France and Germany... to oppose England that helped also in the creation of Israel). The Saudi kingdom cannot be responsible of everything. There are undergrounds in Al-Qaeda. Bin Laden is only the consecrator of the organization who has money and motivations (the same motivations as Saddam), but alone he is nothing. The undergrounds are worst than Bin Laden is. He is an pantomime only used because he is Saudi, but those who have finances and ties to Bin Laden, are not all Saudi and have different interests. What I blame of Clinton is the way how he uses the economy to corrupt the countries. He does not use the politic, neither any of the political tools, but he acts as a businessman, out of the business ground. As long as I know, Telnet, who was placed by Clinton has not been harassed for misguiding the government of Bush, and Kay has been thank because his statement does contradict what the CIA did say previous of the war. If there had WMD, the CIA did not act good, and did not guide properly the Pentagon about the areas the military had to secure (the frontiers with Jordan, that the CIA should have known that it was a real threat, not the "friend" as usually told previous to the war). The CIA does not even have any communication with the Pentagon. After war, also the militaries were in Iraq, any information entering the CIA never reached at any level the information resource of the militaries, and if things are moving, it's only because the Internet does let the things to move in connection with the military. A good para CIA example is Global Security, but still, it has no ties with the government while an intelligence bureau should be connected permanently with the government. At least, its representatives on the grounds, such the army. Some people fear to not agree with the government, but some people in the CIA fear also to disagree with Clinton. The problem is that Clinton is not any more President, and that each time he has concern with the governmental structure, he is breaking the American laws. This, I agree, is worst than who slept with who, because it does concern the interior security of the country. Politician, mostly, are not frighten to threaten the interior security of their own country, because they know that it can mess up all the ties of a party with its counterparts over the world. Sometimes, to solve an interior problem, the only solution is out the frontiers... which anyway has liberated the Iraqi people... and which any case will build new relations of the US with the Middle East countries. Last week, Prince Charles has met with the Prime Minister of Iran. I call this a revolution of politic, of mind, of religion, of society, and of people. The UN are currently having discussions with Al Sistani. They are planning the independence of Iraq. Saddam Hussein has been arrested, and very soon, the hard body of the terrorism will fell, because it is an evidence. The peace road is on its way, and no terrorism can stop it, because it is a will of the people to be free and to progress. Bush had a lot of courage to over pass the UN. I admire him for that, because the political risks he has taken were worst than an election to the presidency. Having ideals and having the courage to fight for an ideal is the most distinctive quality of a President. Actually, only Bush has demonstrated such qualities. To compare, Kerry is a pee pee leaker, without breath neither any standing. #23 - Posted by: Amphitryon on February 12, 2004 05:05 PM"Having ideals and having the courage to fight for an ideal is the most distinctive quality of a President. Actually, only Bush has demonstrated such qualities." When he actually does some fighting I'll agree. So far all he's done in Iraq is serve turkey (and a fake one at that). You do a very good job of describing many of the problems in the middle east as it relates to Jordan, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia...But Osama's funding does come predominantly from the Saudi's and it is they who fund and run the schools in Palestine and elsewhere that breed children to use Islam as a religion of hate and turn them into suicide bombers. Iraq has done none of this and was used by us in this same way when we needed to have someone invade Iran in the early eighties. Either way, even if all of your points were completely valid, it would not excuse lying to the American people and to the world about WMD's that don't exist in order to invade a country that isn't a threat. This is exactly what Hitler did in WWII...he lied to the German people to create a threat in Poland that did not exist in order to gain their support for his war there. When the German people went to war in the late 1030's they thought they were doing so out of a since of patriotism and self protection. They were wrong, and so are we. #24 - Posted by: ~A~ on February 12, 2004 05:30 PMAmphy needs one of THESE. If you have pets, you need one, too. #25 - Posted by: Curtis the Former Marine on February 12, 2004 05:31 PMSorry...1930's, not 1030's. That's a different war! #26 - Posted by: ~A~ on February 12, 2004 05:32 PMNot sure of the tinfoil hat reference Curtis but looked at your review of Way of the Gun and was suitably impressed. That movie is the best I've ever scene for sheer volume of proper gun handling and small arms tactics. #27 - Posted by: ~A~ on February 12, 2004 05:37 PM~A~, Saudi is involved in any religious school as Vatican is. I have lived 8 months in Indonesia, am a woman, was alone, and have never felt that the children were raised to become suicide bombers. The first time I met with fundamentalists was in Paris, and the most extreme religious I know are in Europe which is more likely the reason why the children are raised with military (scout) games rather than because of Saudi. Referring to the film the Road of Jenin, and to compare with some children I have seen playing in computing shops in Paris, if you give video games rather than weapons to children, they will prefer the games, the security, the education, and the love that they would receive from their parents. It is an ideology to think that Palestinian children are different. If loved, they would become as much peaceful as the other children, and if not manipulated, they could progress. Palestinian don't have any interests in Jordan, but Jordan once was a large country, even governing the kingdom of Iraq. When Israel was created, it has been reduced to nothing, not even the pride that Saudi has. The wahabit of Saudi are against westerners, but they are a small part of Saudis. We cannot condemn the kingdom of Saudi, but only work on the diplomacy with them, considering that the land of Islam is not only made of Middle East believers. Only 20% of the Muslims are originally from the Middle East, which means that 80% of the foreign believers make the pilgrim to the Mecca. The holly place is the Mecca, not Jerusalem. There should have a compromise in the Middle East which is Iraq. It only needs time for the history to be written, but still I think that the war was a good thing. #28 - Posted by: Amphitryon on February 12, 2004 05:56 PMAny one else here suspect that "~A~" and Armpithydrant are 2 personalities speaking from the same body? Raise your hand! Hey, Frank! Can I have a tee shirt that says "Willing female victim of Frank J, treasonous ronin, natural born killer, and Catholic Joooo."? #29 - Posted by: Jewels~of~the~Jungle on February 12, 2004 06:06 PMCurtis, that's a nice hat. It is said that it can be offered for Valentine's day, so I must wait until then to get mine. It is said also that we should not change the size of the head to fit the hat, so I'll buy three of those to cover also my hears. #30 - Posted by: Amphitryon on February 12, 2004 06:20 PMBTW Frank, when will you finish the Yvonne's Ashes story. You said once that you would add a page of you while still a kid. When will you post your fat baby picture ? #31 - Posted by: Amphitryon on February 12, 2004 06:26 PM~A~, if Bush lied about WMD, then so did Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Clark, Daschle, Pelosi, Levin, and on and on and on. "Way of the Gun...is the best I've ever scene for sheer volume of proper gun handling and small arms tactics." Thanks, ~A~! Now be sure to clink on my links and buy lots of DVDs. And that goes DOUBLE for the rest of you! #33 - Posted by: Curtis the Former Marine on February 12, 2004 06:31 PMNope Frank, it just means you're going to enjoy watching the power struggle within the Democrat party just as much as the rest of us, cause that is exactly the same thought I had after reading it! Oh, and ppl up above, get your own blogs, sheesh. A sense of humor might be in order too. *gets out fire extinguisher in prep for flames* #34 - Posted by: Red Mist on February 12, 2004 07:14 PMAgreed, which is why they all suck ass! I make no distinctions, they are all lying pig-dogs. I'm sure at some point in history Saddam did have these wepons and we knew that he used them which is why we applied 12 years of sanctions and at least three seperate rounds of weapons inspections. However, it was only Geo. W. Bush who used outdated and questionable intelligence to hype a threat that other confirmed sources said was no longer existent. He did this to further his own political and financial gain. Ignorance is one thing, stupidity another. All the people you mentioned never caused a single death based on their lies or there assumptions or their ignorance. Bush is responsible for the death of tens of thousands of people. I would argue that killing that many people (or any amount of people for that matter) based on hyped intelligence is an entirely different thing than agreeing with the intelligence assment yet declining to commit military forces. #35 - Posted by: ~A~ on February 12, 2004 07:19 PMSo...does anyone want to start taking bets on who rolled the grenade under Kerry's (hooch...)campaign? Even money says it was the Clintons. Gawd, I love it when the dems eat their own! It'll be much less of a scandal if she's a hot intern. Do we REALLY want a president who'll commit adultery with a fat chick???????
~A~, Didn't Clinton bomb Iraq in 1998? Wasn't Gore his VP? Didn't those clowns support it? Why, precisely, did Clinton bomb Iraq, assuming it wasn't to distract from the Lewinsky affair? "Agreed, which is why they all suck ass! I make no distinctions, they are all lying pig-dogs." Okay, ~A~, you've proven you can bitch endlessly about Bush and anyone else named, and you *claim* to be just about the 'only conservative' here, so prove yourself. Since you can't define something by what it is NOT, pray do tell, what is *your* idea of conservatism? Who is your ideal 'conservative candidate'? Pretend for a moment that the entire Bush cabinet has left the Whitehouse a sucking void (kind of like after eight years of the Clinton Administration) and America desperately needs YOUR help (God forbid)to find an Executive leader. Name, if you will, and further describe this "~A~'s superhero" person, whether real, imagined, or as likely, the product of some ranting drug-induced-psychopathic hallucinatory fantasy... I'm dying to know what you *REALLY* think! (Well, not really, but morbid curiosity forces me to consider the possibility that I might be vaguely amused...) One rule: no further comparisons to GWBush, or for that matter, negative comparisons of others, directly or indirectly. We have heard them ad nauseum. I dare you to give us SUBSTANCE rather than your continued antipathy parade, which frankly (oops, sorry Frank) has begun to grow wearisome. Anyone can bitch, and for the parent of teenagers, one quickly becomes inured. [/yawn] #39 - Posted by: Rubber(Red)neck on February 13, 2004 12:36 AMI haven't had a date this millenium, and I still wouldn't fool around with John Kerry! #40 - Posted by: Suzi on February 13, 2004 01:37 AMLAST! #41 - Posted by: SwampWoman on February 13, 2004 08:52 AM"LAST!" Not Anymore!! #42 - Posted by: MMW on February 13, 2004 10:32 AMHey, I heard FOX news talk about the JF'nK intern thing. They brought up the Drudge report, and apparently Drudge has seen a massive jump in traffic... heehee... I can't wait.... #43 - Posted by: Cpt.Dysentery on February 13, 2004 02:58 PMDrudge has a good track record. He was the one who broke the Monika story. Kerry does indeed have cousins in France. Thats where I would start looking for Kerry's girl. Post a comment
