The Limey's Friends Strike
Posted by Frank J. at 08:51 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (96)

ETA has struck in Madrid, killing 173 by the current count and making The Limey quite happy from the murder and mayhem, I’m sure. My prayers go out to the victims, and there is yet another group that just placed themselves under the hammer. While good people still stand again the Fascist McFascists out there, all terrorism will get you in the end is dead.

UPDATE: It's probably just a coincidence, but I hadn't heard about the ETA until The Limey was spouting off about how they were going to kill the Spanish government just a week ago. Do you think a lot of chatter about ETA had been going around, or do you think The Limey might have actually known something?

Spain has a good ally to depend on in the war against terrorists.

#1 - Posted by: Dave in Texas on March 11, 2004 09:03 AM

Sickeningly, The Limey's prediction about an ETA strike was the first thing I thought about when I read the news. More innocent blood for your "freedom fighters" to bathe in, eh, Tony?

I hope the Spanish gov't asks for some international help. I'm sure their intellegence community is doing their best, but I'd like to see how long these ETA pussies last against cold war-hardend Mossad and CIA operatives.

My thoughts and prayers (such as they are) are with the victims and their families as well.

When will these people learn? France is north of Spain.

#3 - Posted by: LibertyBob on March 11, 2004 09:09 AM

They're saying it may have been al-Whatsit, or some other Islamic group. Apparently, the ETA always calls in a warning before blowing stuff up, and they're not taking responsibility for it after the fact. Also, it seems to have too high a casualty count for a typical ETA bombing.
Just my $0.02.

#4 - Posted by: Good-Natured Cynic on March 11, 2004 09:13 AM

Spain has been a staunch ally. We should help them in any way we can.

And kill all the terrorists, not just the Middle Eastern ones...

#5 - Posted by: Mr. Quibbler on March 11, 2004 09:13 AM

I don't care if your Muslim, Christian, or atheist; you kill innocent people, and America should join the fight to wipe you out like cockroaches.

#6 - Posted by: Frank J. on March 11, 2004 09:21 AM

Seconded.

#7 - Posted by: sandor at the zoo on March 11, 2004 09:23 AM

What I find most ironic is that soon, Basqueland would be slapped with a state of emergency and a massive crackdown on ETA would soon ensue except in the unlikely event it wasn't the ETA. But during that, if Israel leads a massive retaliation deep into Palestinian territory, they would be in the forefronts condemning it.

Hypocrisy couldn't get anymore stark.

#8 - Posted by: rajan r on March 11, 2004 09:24 AM

Spain has elections in a few days, the 'buzz' on the 'street' was they would try a few attacks before the elections so I doubt The Limey knew. I hope he feels ashamed of himself.

However there is no proof at least at the moment that ETA were behind these attacks.

#9 - Posted by: Poosh on March 11, 2004 09:51 AM

The first thing I thought of when I heard the attack was The Limey's comments.

#10 - Posted by: Ken on March 11, 2004 09:54 AM

Arrr! I'm a pirate!

#13 - Posted by: Johnny Depp on March 11, 2004 09:57 AM

Pirates are scary! Don't hurt me, Johnny Depp.

#14 - Posted by: Carl on March 11, 2004 09:57 AM

He's not really a pirate; he's just acting.

Hey! A monkey is stealing my sugar!

#15 - Posted by: Spanish Militant on March 11, 2004 09:58 AM

Hit the monkey with a bat before he gets away!

#16 - Posted by: XTREME ONE on March 11, 2004 09:59 AM

Arrr! We did keelhaul many a sugar-stealing monkey on the Black Pearl. Arrr!

Question for the Lefty Posters: Do you project your insecurity and hatred for yourselves on other people for a living, or is this just a casual hobby?

C'mon, I thought Allah and the hippies were all about looooooove. Get with the program.

#20 - Posted by: ConservativeBabe on March 11, 2004 10:15 AM

I can't figure out if this poster is trying to irk me or doing a parody of someone trying to irk me.

#21 - Posted by: Frank J. on March 11, 2004 10:18 AM

They think it was arabs, not ETA, just cuz of the lack of a threat being called in before. If they are targeting american allies, tell the limey to go and ride around on the U in London, and maybe they'll frag his ass, too.

#22 - Posted by: Cavtrooper on March 11, 2004 10:24 AM

Thank you, rajan r. I was worried that I was the only person who thought this.

#23 - Posted by: Debbie on March 11, 2004 10:27 AM

Wow, that's Amazing! Four lefties get online at the *same* time to taunt us poor rednecks and to passionately agree with each other. (by name, of course.) Gee, what are the odds!?

#24 - Posted by: Jewels~of~the~Jungle on March 11, 2004 10:30 AM

ETA (Euskadi ta Askatasuna—Basque Homeland and Freedom) has been around for quite a while (about 40+ years). They are a Basque separatist group wanting a 'homeland' within Spain (near France, of course). During 40 years of terrorist activity, ETA has killed more than 800 people, kidnapped a further 70 and wounded thousands.

Spain has been a staunch ally of the US for quite some time through dictators (see: Franco, General Francisco), royalty (see: King Juan Carlos) and socialists alike.

I wholeheartedly agree with Frank. If you kill innocent people you should be hunted down, drawn and quartered in public.

#25 - Posted by: El Jefe on March 11, 2004 10:31 AM

Could be both ... violent leftist radicals are often parodies of themselves. If it is someone trying to make you (us) angry, it's amazing how poorly they understand free speech. Free men have nothing to fear from a fool who speaks his mind; he'll only reveal himself to be a fool.

xtreme / johnny / carl (yes, we know you're the same person - creating multiple identities is an old trick), please do continue. The deeper we see your stupidity and lack of ethics run the less anyone will be inclined to take it seriously.

I only soiled myself.

#29 - Posted by: Carl on March 11, 2004 10:45 AM

In Spain, the mark of an ETA terrorist are pants filled with excrement.

#30 - Posted by: Spanish Militant on March 11, 2004 10:46 AM

Yeah, but he left out the benevolent totalitarian state governed by faceless masters that'll give us all that in exchange for our obedience.

Why didn't you tell me sooner!

#33 - Posted by: Carl on March 11, 2004 10:47 AM

Arrr! Sometime a pirate has nothing to drink but grog and Windex.

#34 - Posted by: Johnny Depp on March 11, 2004 10:48 AM

Oh, and I doubt that The Limey actually knew anything about this in advance ... but you could give his name, town of residence, and the e-mail in question to Interpol.

I'm completely serious. They might find it worth following up.

#35 - Posted by: sandor at the zoo on March 11, 2004 10:48 AM

Being from Spain, I would like to show my support for the ETA by having them blow me up.

#36 - Posted by: Spanish Militant on March 11, 2004 10:48 AM

Me too! I just hope it doesn't hurt.

#37 - Posted by: Carl on March 11, 2004 10:49 AM

We should make giant puppets to support our cause!

#38 - Posted by: XTREME ONE on March 11, 2004 10:50 AM

I'm scared of puppets!

Once a puppet bit me.

#41 - Posted by: Carl on March 11, 2004 10:52 AM

I don't want the puppets to bite me!

#42 - Posted by: Spanish Militant on March 11, 2004 10:53 AM

um, i'll be the first to tell you that politically, i know only one thing: liberal bad, conservative good. that is the extent of my political knowledge. however, the following struck me as odd. am i alone on this? like i said, i know only the most important of political truths. and xtreme carl depp, i can see your future lame joke from here, so don't bother.
~~~
President Jacques Chirac (search) condemned the Madrid attacks and pledged "solidarity with Spain in fighting against this abominable scourge."
"Nothing ever justifies barbarity. Democracies must be — and will be — united in combatting this without weakness," Chirac said.
#43 - Posted by: sarahk on March 11, 2004 10:54 AM
I like Franco-American products such as SpaghettiOs.
#44 - Posted by: XTREME ONE on March 11, 2004 10:54 AM
Me too! They're tasty!
But I found out you should never swallow a box of thumb tacs... even if someone double dog dares you.
#45 - Posted by: Carl on March 11, 2004 10:56 AM
In Spain, ETA terrorist show their solidarity by swallowing thumb tacs, paper clips, and troll dolls (the smaller ones).
#46 - Posted by: Spanish Militant on March 11, 2004 10:56 AM
Swallowing trolls dolls goes against my Franco-American principles.
#47 - Posted by: XTREME ONE on March 11, 2004 10:57 AM
Arrr! Sometimes when out at sea on the Black Pearl, swallowing thumb tacs is the only entertainment we have.
I can fit inside a garbage can!
#49 - Posted by: XTREME ONE on March 11, 2004 10:58 AM
Congratulations.
#50 - Posted by: Carl on March 11, 2004 10:59 AM
In Spain, ETA terrorist live in garbage cans.
Or maybe that's just garbage. Hard to tell the difference.
#51 - Posted by: Spanish Militant on March 11, 2004 10:59 AM
Arrr! I once floated out to sea in a garbage can. I named the vessel the S.S. Limey.
#52 - Posted by: Johnny Depp on March 11, 2004 11:00 AM
um, no, mr. depp, if you read the above, you would know that i said i know only the most important of political truths. i don't know anything about chirac except that he is french and a wuss who won't fight at all. which is why i find it odd that he talks about fighting terrorists.
sarahk, you're being trolled. Stop responding to the comments.
Franco must be a weird European way of spelling "Frank J." ... you know those crazy Europeans and their way of adding letters to perfectly good American words. Were you really alive in 1936 Frank? I had no idea you were so old ... I've seen your picture. What kind of moisturizer do you use?
S
#74 - Posted by: sandor at the zoo on March 11, 2004 11:15 AM
Frank,
You shoul write down the IPs and fill a complain on the FBI site with the copy and past of some abstracts of the comment section. IMAO is your blog, and you have a responsability about what is said in here. To not be "responsible", you should fill a complain or eventually, which is more easy for you, make a print of the comments, make a print of the IPs and go to the local FBI office... but best is fbi.gov.
You should.
#75 - Posted by: Amphitryon on March 11, 2004 11:29 AM
Carl, XTREME ONE, and Spanish Militant sound like the trio of moronic goons that follows the villain around in bad kids' movies.
#76 - Posted by: david on March 11, 2004 11:44 AM
How can one be "too right"? Seems to me, something's either right or wrong. What a moron.
Spanish Militant, you and your friends are a bunch of tools. But hey, be proud of that.
#77 - Posted by: Blake on March 11, 2004 11:46 AM
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say "friends."
Ed.
You and your other personalities are all tools. Man, that must suck to have split personalities and all of them suck hardcore, too. Wanker.
#78 - Posted by: Blake on March 11, 2004 11:49 AM
They're such close friends, they share an IP address.
#79 - Posted by: Frank J. on March 11, 2004 11:50 AM
I am just curious, but do you have an idea of who it is ? (Don't write it, it could be a lawsuit something) But is that a regular reader or is that someone completely new on IMAO ?
With the WHOIS thing you might be able to know who, at least from where and who is the provider. It might be interesting to check out this if you fill a complain.
The FBI is usually prompt to answer. Within 24 hours, they transfer your form to the service... which is your own local office.
#80 - Posted by: Amphitryon on March 11, 2004 12:04 PM
They share a brain, too. I think further responses to any of them (should anyone feel the need to stoop so low) can simply be addressed to Sybil. There's no reason we should have to put up with dealing with each personality on an individual basis.
But it is cool that we have a Limey and a leftist MPD to play with. All the best toys are here at IMAO.
#81 - Posted by: sandor at the zoo on March 11, 2004 12:05 PM
Frank, I have just received an email from Brian of pro-american.com and with all the mess that there is on IMAO I was wondering if I could ask you to visit the site. Do you realize that those Limeys are hijacking you Frank, and that soon, we may even not be able to talk to you any more, because you would become so weird that only crazy people would keep on reading you ?
#82 - Posted by: Amphitryon on March 11, 2004 12:19 PM
i would like to just once talk with one of these morons. What on earth do they think that they are proving or saying by killing civilians. if i truly believed that my cause was just and the only way to make my case was by blowing someone or something up. why not try to kill the governing people with whome you have the gripe...my only thought is that they are such damn pussies that fear of getting caught or killed keeps them attacking civies. but that makes no sense when you think about suicide bombers...some one explain it to me!!!!
Adam
#83 - Posted by: adam from Utah(NBCOFL) on March 11, 2004 12:35 PM
Adam, I think that the people who do that are mentally sick. You cannot find a healthy explanation to this because as most of criminal cases, the motivations are a mental dysfunction that biases the reality to condemn (anyone) and try to dismiss the murder's own acts. The criminals always act with the belief that they have reasons and that those reasons can dismiss the charges that condemn them.
What is strange is that it happened on the bicentenary day of the French civil code, that the President Chirac made an allocution not in the Elysée but during the conference of the civil code and that he did not help during the war in Iraq. He does not even help in Israel. He is even completely hostile. And there had a threat about an AZF group that said they would bomb French trains while actually they have bombed Spanish trains. This is very strange. It seems that Chirac knows he is condemned, feels that he cannot escape and act in a last attempt of "justification".
But criminal acts cannot have a justification, which ever they are. And I cannot believe that Chirac could be innocent. It is as if France had prepared and announced all this, but which are the revendications ?
Maybe they are "only" threatening probably to get some kinds of advantage from the situation. Power might be such a kind of advantage. Last elections, Chirac won the presidency with 82% of the votes, and there are elections too that will happen in France during March... So ? Which are the revendications ?
#84 - Posted by: Amphitryon on March 11, 2004 01:13 PM
adam, you more or less answered your own question. Terrorists attack soft targets because they are either unwilling (too afraid) or unable (too poorly trained and equipped) to attack hard targets (soft targets are unsecured civilian installations like trains, buses, and public buildings ... hard targets are military in nature).
I disagree with a lot of the political veiws expressed on the show The West Wing, but they do occasionally come up with something of interest. One such item was a character remarking on how terrorism has never been successful in achieving it's stated goal. NEVER. All of the Palestinian suicide bombs achieved nothing but an increase in the hardship on their own people. ETA asassinations have not brought about a Basque homeland. The IRA never chased Britian out of Northern Ireland. And the attacks of September 11th brought more US troops into Arab lands, not less.
Terrorism - in addition to being murderous and inhumanly wasteful - is also bad tactics. But when you're dealing with Madmen on Missions From God none of that matters. All they care about is expressing their discontent with as much noise and blood as possible, and perpetuating their fantasy struggle against the "great enemy" (whomever it happens to be this week).
S
#85 - Posted by: sandor at the zoo on March 11, 2004 01:15 PM
adam from Utah, I don't get it either - terrorists blowing up my gentle neighbors isn't going to sway me to their view point. It's just going to make we want to Shock And Awe that much more...some one explain it to us!!!!
#86 - Posted by: Rocky on March 11, 2004 01:24 PM
I mean, this might have happen because someone such Chirac wanted to prove to the electorate that Chirac was right to not follow the US in Iraq. "See, the Spanish have followed the US and there are terrorists bombings. And see, they have arrested the members of Al-Qaeda and you can see the results". And, who knows what happens in Chirac's head.
But I would never believe that he is innocent. That the French are innocents. It is as if they had signed the crime before it happened, and I fear that Chirac's government is the culprit in most of the European terror. Or at least, he as enough power at the head of France and he is enough corrupted for some other groups to get raised on Chirac.
Who knows, bad bankers are all in Switzerland and Chirac keep believe that he still can save his face off the bad money... at least, as long as he keep maintained to be the President of France. If he would loose the elections, there are few lawsuits that are waiting for him and that would probably condemned him and his whole family at the presidence.
You know, bad boy cannot become good boys with bad means and Chirac is a real bad boy.
#87 - Posted by: Amphitryon on March 11, 2004 01:26 PM
Thanks for the response. I do beleive that by this council of good men and true we can state that the only real cure for this disease we call terrorists the suitable application of high explosives...please God!! Let Bush be re-elected!
adam
#88 - Posted by: Adam from utah(NBCOFL) on March 11, 2004 01:34 PM
Speaking of Switzerland, just before the last presidential, I had been contacted by a big banker for a project of mine to build solar carpentries. They could not help me with 500,000 francs, but they could help me with at least 5,000,000 francs. The condition was to reimburse in Euro.
Do you know what it is ? Traffic. Bad money into the mattress that they want to change with their own means. Chirac is so much corrupted that his position is a way to get his own vote at the UN and any other International Organizations. If once a law would ask the transparency of the bank accounts in Switzerland, Chirac would have to vote for it, but if he is corrupted, he may also veto and the one who seem to have broke the system are people such Bush, Aznar, Blair and the others. All of them are socialists countries with a monarchy at the head and the US. Everything that is very uncomfortable for France.
I cannot believe that Chirac is not responsible. There are people behind him, who are pushing to bring the ideas, the logistic, the armament and the acts. In the AZF story, they said that it was probably militaries. If France is involved, it could be also para-militaries working for one lodge or one other. Who knows ?
But the most difficult is to get the proves.
#89 - Posted by: Amphitryon on March 11, 2004 01:45 PM
I don't think the Limey just KNEW something - I think he was directly involved. Guys like him are always looking for people to kill because women will have nothing to do with him, being probably malformed in some really obvious way.
#90 - Posted by: emspace on March 11, 2004 02:08 PM
I can't wait to see the peacenicks start protesting when the Spanish decide to take full military action against these shitheads. Those guys seriously don't know when to quit (both the terrorists and the peacenicks).
Oh, and emspace, the Limey is probably too much of a coward to get himself directly involved with something like this, but he's probably secretly funding the ETA with whatever pocket change he can manage to scrape off the street each week.
#91 - Posted by: Mob_Triggerman on March 11, 2004 03:36 PM
The French politician who was named with the Iraqi oil vouchers, Pasqua, was the Minister of the "Interior" which means the police, the defense of the territory, and the secret services. Recently, an affair of crime came out in Toulouse to involve the President of the CSA (TV center) into a dirty affair of crime with violence and women and etc... At the same time, French photographers are seen making pictures of the attacks against US troops and the French medias get manipulated by the government.
BUT in all this, the crime story and the alerts, all this came out from TOULOUSE with an Algerian proxenet for the "boss" and the politician for the "victim". All this was a machination but that precisely points always on TOULOUSE and the French authorities had fabricated an hoax about a group, which was said to be called AZF and that planned to bomb French trains... but AZF refers to the TOTAL Company which building were blown on September 21, 2001, ten days after September 11, 2001.
In all this, Algerians are involved and consequently Chirac because of the Gaullist revendication proprietary on Algeria, and probably other darkest affairs.
But TOULOUSE, to sum up, is close to the Basque territory, just the other side of the frontier with Spain. There might have something there, which may be connected to the bombings of Paris in 1995, and the World Trade Center.
Something such drug ? Prostitution ? Money ? Weapons ? Politics ? Power ? or simply only religion ?
Who knows. It is close to Pau and other very French militarized zones, so everything is believable.
But I don't believe in hazards. Chirac has so much friends in Switzerland that getting the money is made easy. He is a puppet at the head of a country (France) that is on its way to become a terrorist European country for which the motivation may be Europe itself, the unique money, the Euro.
The two planes crashed on the World Trade Center in September 2001. The Euro was an opened value on January 2002 and Chirac was re-elected with 82% of the votes in May 2002. Very surprisingly, there are elections in Spain and in France this month, which may become a corner in many politicians' career. If Chirac fails, he faces trial, so he is someone corruptible, that organizations such Al-Qaeda may have used.
One fact is also that European banks and American banks are at war one against each other. World War II started because of the bankers, and the World Trade Center might have been hit because of monetary systems that are opposed which best representation is Europe / America, but who in Europe and who in America ?
Frank, you should know about the ETA since your good 'ol big brother lives in Boise (where you did to for a bit!). Idaho has the largest Basque population outside of Spain. Its a little tricky denouncing them or calling them terrorists around here.
