Our Military XXII: Greetings from Iraq on the 4th
My brother's best friend from college and the Marines and - as I can say from my own experience - just a plain 'ole great guy is currently serving in Iraq. He wrote this e-mail on the 4th July and I think it's really worth reading to put things into perspective: To All My Family and Friends, 12 Responses To "Our Military XXII: Greetings from Iraq on the 4th"
First - RSS readers rule! #1 - Posted by: Steve on July 6, 2004 09:56 PMRSS readers rule! Loving that XML feed. Not second. #2 - Posted by: Steve. on July 6, 2004 09:57 PMOK, Steve, calm down. That's cool and all but I think you're kinda missing the point here... Frank, thanks for sharing that amazing letter. It was no less than brilliant and my only complaint was that it hasn't been read on the air or reprinted in newspapers across the land. We ARE doing the right thing. Keep the "Our Military" series rolling, ok? They're not only entertaining, they're informative and empowering. #3 - Posted by: Uncle Frome on July 6, 2004 10:57 PMMore stories and accounts like that need to be broadcast in the media. It's always great to get firsthand accounts from people who are actually there, and not rely on some reporter adding his/her dramatic flair to a story. #4 - Posted by: Turkeyhead on July 6, 2004 11:33 PMHere Here! #5 - Posted by: Joshua on July 6, 2004 11:59 PMFirst-God bless Lt Adam,Thanks for all you & your brethren do! Second-Frank,you need to post a list of what these guys need.I've always wanted to send care packages, but I figured if I sent soap & razors-a semi load of soap & razors would already be sitting there unused.I want to show my appreciation to all who serve in harm's way,but have yet to see a list of what's scarce for them. Sorry for double-posting.The message led me to believe the 1st one failed. #8 - Posted by: Colt Springfield on July 7, 2004 01:12 AMAs a granddaughter of a WW2 serviceman, I can only say Godspeed to our boys in Iraq, and may God bless and keep America as He has the last 228 years. #9 - Posted by: Laura on July 7, 2004 01:30 AMIn case anyone wants to know, there's info about sending stuff to troops here. #10 - Posted by: Trucido on July 7, 2004 06:38 AMGod Bless the US of friggin' A! #11 - Posted by: krautstink on July 7, 2004 10:47 AMseper Post a comment
