Ronin Thought of the Day

Samurai Benjamin Takeshi Franklin was known to say:

Well done is better than well said.

Facta non verba.

"Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." - Benjamin Franklin.

aka: Early to rise and early to bed, makes a man healthy, but socially dead. - Who Knows

(I refuse to say first because I have not slipped that low, but let it be known that I posted before the second comment.)

Man! I know what you mean. One time I ordered a burger "well said" and it SUCKED! The waiter had a really annoying New England accent ("cheese - buh - gaah") and afterwards I was still hungry.

However, if I had my 'druterhs, I'll go for medium well any day!

Like my Dad used to say: "Talk's Cheap. It Takes Money To Buy Liquor!"

Deep. Articulate. Succinct.

Actions speak louder than words.

Talk is cheap

#4 - Posted by: Rob on July 26, 2004 12:15 PM

Yes, but when one relies on talk to solve a problem that only action can solve, talk can get quite pricey indeed.

You wouldn't by any chance be referring to any problem in particular, would you?

#6 - Posted by: Trucido on July 26, 2004 12:40 PM

i like my steaks medium. well done, they're way too dry.

#7 - Posted by: sarahk on July 26, 2004 12:57 PM

Rare all the way!
BTW it's not nice to make fun of the UN like that AWG :) It would be nice to completely ignore the UN.

I would have to go with medium-rare. Tender enough to be edible, but it's been cooked enough to kill the thing. (Remember, if your steak bites you back, it's not done.)

#9 - Posted by: Trucido on July 26, 2004 02:03 PM

Franklin also said "Fart proudly!!".

#10 - Posted by: MAJ Mike on July 26, 2004 11:00 PM

mmmmmm, medium rare. and speaking of, ahem, passing gas, I was lately thinking that it would be a good idea to have one of those rude noise making devices in restrooms, so then whenever you hear someone on their cellphone IN THERE!!! you could start lettin' it rip till they hung up. It's a humorous way to handle it at least.

#11 - Posted by: maggie katzen on July 26, 2004 11:32 PM

Is medium rare better than rarely said?
