Chomps Would Be Proud
Posted by Frank J. at 10:03 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (29)

I miss having a dog, and I think I'd like to adopt this one. I'd name him "Shooty," and we'd have ever so much fun together.

LMAO, I always like the "underdog wins" stories... pun intended.

Sick ass. Wish the puppy killed him

#4 - Posted by: kanecorp on September 9, 2004 10:53 AM

Does this mean that Chomps, the world's angriest dog, will have a sidekick. Shooty, the worlds most ardent supporter of the second ammendment.

#5 - Posted by: Exile on September 9, 2004 11:02 AM

Wow... just wow... I read that on fark and said the same thing... I want that puppy, I miss my old dog.
But seriously, he could have just brought them to a shelter, leaving them on the back door of the shelter is much better than going and shooting each puppy in the head... and just leaving them on the door without telling anybody is fairly f'ed up to begin with. (I have a friend who works at the CT Humane Society and I have to hear horror stories)

#6 - Posted by: HOPWhiteyFord on September 9, 2004 11:09 AM

...This reminds me of the time I made love to that chihuahua down in New Orleans...

...no, wait. That was Diane Feinstein!

#7 - Posted by: Bozark on September 9, 2004 11:20 AM

I would name him shooty too and he would be shooty and mine. Just keep shooty, just keep shooty, just keep shooty. I think we should teach shooty human anatomy so that next time the bastard dies or at least is permanently prevented from contaminating the gene pool.

#8 - Posted by: Connecticut Yankee on September 9, 2004 11:55 AM

This guy's a moron. He needs to be sentenced to a month in the dog pound (he could sleep in a kennel at night and be the doo doo picker upper during the day)!

#9 - Posted by: jonag on September 9, 2004 12:35 PM

Agreed, jonag. There is no excuse for killing helpless animals (other than stupid cruelty). Puppies usually get adopted from the pound pretty fast, going on to make some family happy and living a good long life.

And giving Shooty a guest appearance in IMW is a great idea. We should all show up outside Frank's house - marching around with torches and pitchforks - until he complies.

sandor,
I wouldn't see you; I still have my storm windows up.

#11 - Posted by: Frank J. on September 9, 2004 01:02 PM

WTF? No dog, as the oldest living person to ever read this blog, I am strongly suggesting you find this puppy and adopt him.
PS, SARAHK will love it.

#12 - Posted by: James Old Guy on September 9, 2004 01:05 PM

darn, and here I just adopted a puppy.

#13 - Posted by: maggie katzen on September 9, 2004 01:39 PM

I bet you that guy had a "Vote for Kerry" sticker on his Geo Metro.

#14 - Posted by: Wolf's Dawn on September 9, 2004 01:45 PM

Yeah, I wouldn't know where to get torches and pitchforks anyway; Tampa doesn't have an Angry Peasant Supply Store.

Good idea keeping the storm windows up. We did the same thing here at work (and no sunlight in the office is disconcerting) in case Ivan decides he'd like to come to Florida's hurricane party of `04. At least I was in Atlanta for Frances ... we saw some of the storm, but not nearly as much as they got at home.

Think of the bright side, fellas.

After this idiot's wound heals, and after he's convicted of cruelty-to-animals and firearms charges, he's gonna go to jail.

There, he'll have to answer: "What're you in for?"

The first thing he'll hear after answering the question will be...

Bend over. Bitch.

#16 - Posted by: azlibertarian on September 9, 2004 01:54 PM

That reminds me of a story I once heard about a monkey with a gun.

#17 - Posted by: M1A1 on September 9, 2004 03:05 PM

Guns don't kill people...
lil' tiny puuuuuuppies doooooo!

#18 - Posted by: FormerHostage on September 9, 2004 03:29 PM

Shooty = Chomps's sidekick! Yeah!!

If the Navy can teach dolphins to do underwater reconnaissance, the Army oughta be training dogs into crack commando teams. That would be so kewl.

#19 - Posted by: Bruce Banner on September 9, 2004 03:52 PM

Great googly moogly! I want a puppy like that!
Give 'em his own holster to wear
and a post a sign saying-WARNING my dog supports and will defend the Second Amendment.

#20 - Posted by: Laura on September 9, 2004 05:07 PM

Just a thought. I bet Chomps would be most interested in teaching this pup. Heck, Chomps might even claim the pup as his own, considering how righteously angry that pup was and followed through!

Can see it now, hippies would be fleeing in all directions at the appearance of those two side-by-side.

#21 - Posted by: Revandryn on September 9, 2004 05:10 PM

That is so cruel. We sound like a bunch of hippie animal rights activists, but that's okay. I hope you do adopt him, he'd be an excellent sidekick for Chomps. Chomps has the anger; Shooty has the weapon.

#22 - Posted by: Jen on September 9, 2004 06:47 PM

What the hell is wrong with the world? I mean, yes, that's a cute puppy, and yes, I like dogs, and yes, dummy should have taken them to the humane society (if you say they're strays they usually don't charge you for anything), but I don't think a bullet in the head should constitute "Felony Animal Cruelty." That's not cruel at all. Drowning a sack of puppies is cruel. Shooting them is a perfectly good way of getting rid of them if you can't afford them and no one wants them. You know what we did when I was a kid (and that's not long ago, I'm only a year older than Frank J.) if we were far from the vet/HS and the dog was badly sick/wounded? Shot him.

#23 - Posted by: tsymyn on September 9, 2004 08:39 PM

Well, I think that's horrible. I have hated the idea of shooting dogs since I read "Of mice and men". I'm no hippie, so I realize that there is a big difference between dogs and people, but this is a living being and I think it deserves to be treated with more respect than to just be shot when it's not wanted. It's like abortion.

#24 - Posted by: Jen on September 9, 2004 10:42 PM

I'm a bleeding heart when it comes to animals. what a wicked bastard! I wish that adorable creature had killed him.
A person that hurts animals is more likely to hurt people-think Jeffery Dahmer-throw the prick in jail and toss the key.

If anyone can get the lil' pup's info, I'll pitch in for a lifetime supply of Meaty Bones™.

And Frank, I agree with everyone else; I seriously think you should adopt him. Considering the situation with the guy and the gun, there was definitely somebody looking out for that puppy and his siblings.

#26 - Posted by: Turkeyhead on September 10, 2004 12:51 AM

"Shooty"?? Well, I guess that will work for him - while the other dogs are laughing at his effeminate doggie name, he can blast 'em.

Right away, I thought, "Dang! What a COOL dog!!" Several names came to mind; Gunner, Magnum, Colt, Winchester, Norman (what I named my Ithaca 12-guage, oddly enough, after a dog in a television commercial 20 years ago!). Even "Kindness". (Get it? As in, 'kill 'em with...'?)

Nah... After thinking about it, 'Shooty' sounds good to me, too. ;)

#27 - Posted by: Rubber(Red)neck on September 10, 2004 02:53 AM

That brings up another question, Frank. Do you name your guns?

I already introduced you to 'Norman'...here are his friends:

'Petey' - a "Pietro Beretta" Model 92F .9mm

'Kate' - my carry-gun, a Kimber .45 Compact w/Crimson Trace lasergrips - for that badass "red-dot-shows-where-I'm-going-to-drill-you-if-you-move-or-I-happen-to-sneeze-cause-I'm-allergic-to-lawbreaking-hippy-a*holes-like-you!" effect. ;)

'Gunther' - Walther PPK/S .380 - aka 'NRA partyfavor' (noisemaker) Looks cool - kicks like a mule!

'Bonnie & Clyde' - Matching .22 Magnum and .357 Magnum Ruger Blackhawks (inherited from Mom & Pop - I sure do heart them both!)

'Tink' - Ruger 10/22 rifle, now 27 years old (12th birthday gift) and she STILL looks better than new!

..and finally, 'Festus' - my Winchester 30/30 lever gun.

#28 - Posted by: Rubber(Red)neck on September 10, 2004 03:20 AM

"Nice Shootin' Rex!"

Sorry, it had to be said...
