First. And I have no idea what you are talking about. #1 - Posted by: jonag on September 29, 2004 06:47 PMI last saw that as a mysql error. The prob could be the mysql configuration on the server. There is a line something like set-variable = max_allowed_packet=8M The 8M may be different, but whatever it is it just needs to be made bigger (16M? maybe) #2 - Posted by: tinkas on September 29, 2004 07:11 PMHave you tried updating your blacklist piecemeal? Try updating with a very small blacklist, then increase its size until you get the error. Also, make sure your MT-Blacklist is compatible with your version of MT. I've been using it for more than a year now, and overall it has a 97.8% accuracy rating. It takes a while to get good at it, but it's well worth it. I had a read through the install guide for MT-Blacklist and noticed that you can use YAML as a last resort. If the hosting company cant or wont increase the max_allowed_packet variable, it may be worth your while having a stab at the YAML path. But on the other hand, I haven't received *any* spam since applying the change.
