I Have in My Hand a List...
Posted by Frank J. at 11:04 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (40)

From Wikipedia, here is a list of Republican celebrities. Some are pretty surprising, though I'm not sure how all of these were verified.
(Hat tip to Chris at Flash Bang for the link)

BTW, I have a surprise for you all later this afternoon. Stay tuned, sportsfans.

Scott Baio? Oh yeah, we're gonna win for sure now!

Wow ... Mary Kate and Ashley are Republicans ... this has polito-sexual fan fic written all over it!

#2 - Posted by: ChrTh on October 27, 2004 11:22 AM

Favre's the man.

#3 - Posted by: McCoy on October 27, 2004 11:28 AM

a surprise? are you moving to Texas?
cool.

#4 - Posted by: sarahk on October 27, 2004 11:35 AM

I think we're going to see another 'No one comes back from 3-0 .... No one!' post.

#5 - Posted by: ChrTh on October 27, 2004 11:39 AM

Frank, get rid of the advertisers of the Left. It really bugs me too. I told SarahK the same thing. I get their money just doesn't fly. Principle counts. I wouldn't advertise for commies even if they were making me rich and I wouldn't have to work any more (which I really don't want to do anymore!!)..

#6 - Posted by: Bikermommy on October 27, 2004 11:58 AM

In my humble opinion, I think you should keep taking the left's money. However, I would charge them double your usual ad rates, and then mock their ads.

#7 - Posted by: Exile on October 27, 2004 12:04 PM

but Bikermommy, the more money he makes from commies, the more he has to spend on me! silly Bikermommy and her tunnelvision. :P

#8 - Posted by: sarahk on October 27, 2004 12:13 PM

What a great list. Now we know why sharpton didn't make it: Don King's Hair beats Al Sharpton's any day of the week.

#9 - Posted by: greg zywicki on October 27, 2004 12:20 PM

Dude, we have Vader and Kahn on our side. We can't lose!

#10 - Posted by: Syd Barret on October 27, 2004 01:10 PM

i believe most of those, but i don't buy into stephen baldwin. hes too much like alec, who's a raving lunatic.

#11 - Posted by: puschmj on October 27, 2004 01:29 PM

They forgot to include the Marilyn Manson frontman.

#12 - Posted by: gaskar on October 27, 2004 01:30 PM

Stephen Baldwin is a born again Christian, though.

#13 - Posted by: Frank J. on October 27, 2004 01:33 PM

I've seen the list before and someone mentioned he doesn't really trust it. His example was that Dennis Quaid is over on the Sean Penn side of the political spectrum.

#14 - Posted by: Masked Menace on October 27, 2004 01:35 PM

Where the hell is Norm McDonald on that list?? He was a huge supporter during the 2000 compaign....even took on those crazy women on the View.

#15 - Posted by: Ryan on October 27, 2004 01:37 PM

Ryan,
He's on there. I remember him signing off the last SNL news segment before the 1996 election with "and remember to vote for Dole."

Of couse, since he did the Dole impression, that would have meant more work for him.

#16 - Posted by: Frank J. on October 27, 2004 01:43 PM

Norm is on there.
I don't think it takes too much too make the list. Here are the comments that got Brittney on the list. Sure, it is nice that she is saying support instead of spitting out the other sides talking points, but I'm not sure that makes her a Republican.

#17 - Posted by: gaskar on October 27, 2004 01:44 PM

Stephen Baldwin was on Hannity's show about a month ago throwing his support behind Bush.
There are some doubtfuls on the list - Stallone for example was a big supporter of the Clintons

#18 - Posted by: Vtwin on October 27, 2004 01:57 PM

Venus and Serena Williams are also for Bush. I don't know why I remember that. It may have something to do with Kerry being so very French and the French booing the sisters.

#19 - Posted by: Wolf's Dawn on October 27, 2004 02:21 PM

We could use some Frank J in Texas...

#20 - Posted by: MetallicaRat on October 27, 2004 02:22 PM

Sports related? OK, try this one one for size:

Q: What do you call 25 guys watching the World Series?

A: The Yankees

#21 - Posted by: El Jefe on October 27, 2004 02:36 PM

The list isn't updated.
Charles Barkley was included on the list. After the last debate, the ABC affiliate here had him on and he said he was voting for Kerry this time. One of the reasons he gave was that he thought No Child Left Behind was a joke.Maybe he thinks he can't successfully run for governor of Alabama as a Republican.

I was surprised to find out that the Olsen twins are in fact fraternal, not identical twins.

#22 - Posted by: Bob in Feenicks on October 27, 2004 02:48 PM

Any doubt that Buffy is a Republican. Now if we could only get her to kick Kerry's ass.

#23 - Posted by: Brass on October 27, 2004 03:45 PM

El Jefe, hahahahahahahahahaha!

#24 - Posted by: sarahk on October 27, 2004 04:14 PM

Tony Danza? I have serious doubts about that one...

#25 - Posted by: on October 27, 2004 04:16 PM

What about Mary Lou Retton?

Also, to all you people (ahem, SarahK) encouraging Frank to move to TX: what's the deal? I think you all should move to FLORIDA so we can make sure they don't elect nutjobs like Gore or Kerry. Don't take the few rational people in Florida out. Oops, he-he. I just called Frank "rational." Heh.

#26 - Posted by: Beo on October 27, 2004 04:41 PM

I believe the question comes down to this...do you want them out there campaigning? I don't. When the lefty actors come out I just cringe as they show their ignorance of current events and politics. Plus the fact I don't know them but I do know the character they play. One doesn't equal the other. And if they came out and said something stupid I couldn't see their character anymore without thinking "damned idiot!" That's what I think now after I hear a lefty actor speak. So if they are going to speak please please please know what you're talking about.

#27 - Posted by: Mo on October 27, 2004 05:38 PM

I wish all celebs would keep a lid on it, but it doesn't happen. Just like I wish former presidents would shut their trap and go do things like build houses and... have relations with other people.

I am kind of interested in a few of them, such as Sarah Michelle Gellar, Leslie Nielson (I thought Naked Gun 2-1/2 The Smell of Fear was one of the worst pro-democommie movies ever made - the first one rocked though), Denzel Washington?, Robert Duvall (Who did a really underrated film - The 6th Day - which is one of my personal favorites)

James Wood is a secret Republican - Rush Limbaugh talked about him and Hollywood.

The disclaimer says it is also people who vote libertarian, or independant, who come out for more Republican then Democrat.

Interesting though, I agree with Syd Barrets comment - Darth and Kahn rock!

#28 - Posted by: Scott Sanburn on October 27, 2004 06:03 PM

hmmm....i never would have thought that about baldwin. he must be the black sheep of the family. i wonder what alec thinks of that? could it possibly be why he doesn't get that much work anymore?

#29 - Posted by: puschmj on October 27, 2004 06:09 PM

another thing, baio was at the reagan funeral. that suprised me a bit.

#30 - Posted by: puschmj on October 27, 2004 06:10 PM

I would love to see these people out there campaigning. I don't think it would be a cringe moment, like when a lib celeb spouts off about the latest Michael Moore talking point. Why? Because if these people are conservative, they are obviously more intelligent than their looney left colleagues.

#31 - Posted by: Gullyborg on October 27, 2004 07:55 PM

Britney Spears??

wow, she doesn't have any republican values but since she appeals to young men she should strip and campaign. Bush and Britney. sounds nice.

#32 - Posted by: jennifer on October 27, 2004 10:03 PM

Ummm - isn't Mel Gibson an Australian?

#33 - Posted by: Teresa on October 28, 2004 01:26 AM

I seem to remember James Woods trashing Michael Moore on the Tonight Show.

#34 - Posted by: gaskar on October 28, 2004 06:55 AM

Mel Gibson was born in the US, his father moved their family to Australia when he was very young.

#35 - Posted by: Vtwin on October 28, 2004 08:44 AM

It's no secret that James Woods is a Republican - there's a great Salon interview out there where he basically terrorizes the lefty interviewer, and runs rhetorical rings around said pez-head.

Michael Moriarity is a Canadian, and a crazy one to boot. I think he's some sort of Conservative - he ran for political office up there on a "to the right of Attila the Hun" platform. Michael Rhys-Davies isn't American; I think he might be a Tory.

Steven Baldwin is a religious right type these days, although he was doing this fan-dance thing about not endorsing anybody by name, it's pretty clear that he was stumping for Bush. He isn't the scary Baldwin, anyways - that would be his psychotic brother, Daniel Baldwin, who likes to rant about being "the devil" at intimidated Asian women in "Hollywood Home Game" poker tournaments.

#36 - Posted by: Mitch H. on October 28, 2004 09:56 AM

geez...don't know how i missed that one, must have been blind that day. Norm was on the list.

#37 - Posted by: Ryan on October 28, 2004 04:37 PM

Okay,

Voted for a couple of those folks on the list at Jereygop.com & stuff, But, Okay, shutting up now, & more power to them if they vote for Bush & stuff. God knows they have a hard road ahead for them if they do in Hollyweird...

Scott Baio?... Ew...

#38 - Posted by: LokiDoki on October 29, 2004 12:33 AM

Drew Carey might be a Bush supporter, but he's no Republican. He's a Libertarian.
