Is it just me, or has my site been down a lot today?

Let me be the FIRST to say, it's not just you.

Yup.. But activity all over seems to be wacking the charts. Don't have any way to judge, though.....

Ya think something is happening today??

#2 - Posted by: Mongo on November 2, 2004 04:33 PM

I dunno, sunspots maybe. ;-)

#3 - Posted by: Beo on November 2, 2004 04:37 PM

I have been here several times and it has been down. A Demo plot obviously!

#4 - Posted by: Bikermommy on November 2, 2004 04:41 PM

It's the web in general. Fox, CNN, my local papers; even the fricken' Post Office site's ssssslllllloooooowwww....

Not to hop on the conspiracy loony-wagon, but it is possible people have randomly or coordinatedly chosen today to execute massive DOS attacks in order to effect electronic voting machines.

It Is the web in general. I have been having difficulty accessing my own, 25-hits-a-day site.

Micheal Moore's site is down as well. Normally this would be a good thing, but a friend sent me a link to his site- appearently Mike is alleging "massive voter fraud". I'd like to read that.

Hmm... I haven't had any problems... Well, the entire internet has been a bit slow, I guess. But I can get here just fine.

#8 - Posted by: Ann on November 2, 2004 05:08 PM

All right & fine in Foreignland. And been refreshing quite a bit, too.

#9 - Posted by: Francesco Poli on November 2, 2004 05:09 PM

even sites that aren't particularly active aren't loading at all or take forever. I spent 10 minutes trying to check if Rachel Lucas had chimed in (she hadn't, that heart breaker).

I actually think there is a story here. Someone above mentioned attacks on voting machines. I think it is more than that. In the last few days, I have received a TON of suspicious e-mails that turned out to hold viruses. My gut is telling me that the anarchist crowd has been actively trying to spread viruses, shut down popular websites, and in general create as much mayhem as possible, in an attempt to bring down the internet and hurt the economy on the eve of the election just to hurt Bush.

Yeah, me too, slow internetS ;) and accessing sites. You'd think bunches more people than usual are online and stuff. Is there something big going on somewhere today or something that peopole would want to know about???

(See, I told you the blood-sucking monkeys were more important!)

#11 - Posted by: jean on November 2, 2004 05:11 PM

- Ditto on the virus's. I take that rather personal so I sent a reply to the trace URL which was in the UK....hopefully they opened it and it bit them on the harddrive..... Obviously some of these attacks are coming out of the Euro block to make them harder to trace and/or cover footprints from the tin-foil gang.....

At least one of the major routers in Florida near Tampa is out, maybe that's affecting you: http://www.internettrafficreport.com/history/245.htm

Of course the terrorists are to blame.

#13 - Posted by: doug on November 2, 2004 05:26 PM

I had been trying to connect to this site and several other Conservitive sites Powerline, Instapundit, Michell Malkin, and this is the first time I could get to your site. i had no trouble going to Dem. sites. IO also got some spam mail for the first time in a year just the other day. Hence my not putting my e-mail address here. I think the monkies are comming hare and harvesting them. @!@##%$^*&(*&( monkies

#14 - Posted by: Algen on November 2, 2004 05:32 PM

Of course it's a demo plot. After all Gore invented the internet, so I am sure he behind it somehow. He probably knows all the back doors to slow it down. :-(

#15 - Posted by: kevkersey on November 2, 2004 05:44 PM

I did see something over at W***ette that said there seemed to be a "DOS attack" on "right wing" sites...

#16 - Posted by: Editor on November 2, 2004 06:33 PM

I couldn't access IMAO or Mountaineer Musings for about 1 hour and when I listed some things on ebay, it took forever for each page to come up. Definitely a vast left-wing conspiracy keeping me from both my conservative web sites and commerce!

#17 - Posted by: jonag on November 2, 2004 06:33 PM

well now W***ette is down. Malkin says there is alot of traffic and that she's been loading very slowly today, too.
