The New Bombing System
In this new addition of IMAO for the Non-Deaf™ produced by Scott McCollum, you get to hear Bush trying out the new bombing system. Click here for the audio. And make sure you have an updated media player before you whine about it cutting off before the end. 19 Responses To "The New Bombing System"
Darn those automated systems. They got one of those for moving my millions around in my 401k, for when the website is experiencing problemos. It takes forever because it assumes the caller a total absolute moronic idiot and it tries to explain how the sotck market works everytime you punch in an option number. Anyway, I figure it is because of the large number of total absolute moronic idiots walking the streets of the USA. We need better automated systems. Here's my suggestion: All automated systems will present the startup options as: Those selecting 3, followed by the correct answer, get super duper expedited service. Now, let's Bomb Somebody Already! #2 - Posted by: Bob on December 2, 2004 02:31 PMWah! It cuts off at the end! Oh no! What do I do? LOL Reminds me of the Q&A on Rob Cockerham's eBay auction for his Doc Oc costume. He says "no shipping," so of course the comments section is full of people asking about shipping. It's hilarious. Ask him if he'll ship it to where you live - I guarantee you'll get an answer. #3 - Posted by: Beo on December 2, 2004 02:48 PMVery good! #4 - Posted by: Laura on December 2, 2004 04:26 PMThanks for kind words, Laura. Frank and I enjoy producing these audio bits for the fans. To make the audio experience best for all fans everywhere, I'd like to know what media player everyone is using to listen to the IMAO for the Non-Deaf. Thanks again, Scott McCollum #5 - Posted by: The Real Scott on December 2, 2004 05:41 PMI have updated Windows Media player, v 10. Also qorks with Quicktime #6 - Posted by: Dave in Texas on December 2, 2004 05:44 PMGood feedback, Dave—thanks. I may start encoding these audio bits in Windows Media format since most people use Microsoft Windows and the WMA format creates smaller sound files than comparable quality MP3 sound files. Anyone object to that? Please let me know! #7 - Posted by: The Real Scott on December 2, 2004 06:58 PM*breaks out the wooden cross* Back demons of Windows! I would recommend not using a WMP-exclusive format. This is because users have started switching over to the Linux operating system(s) and jumping off the sinking M$ ship. By using MP3 or a similar format, you won't be alienating certain readers (or listeners, in this case). #9 - Posted by: Crispy23 on December 2, 2004 07:18 PMOkay, reality check: IDC's most recent figures, published in October 2003, shows Microsoft Windows clients installed on 93.8 percent of the world's desktop computers—numbering well over the 1,000,000,000 mark since Gartner Dataquest ran the numbers back in 2002. By contrast, Linux desktops accounted for just 2.8 percent worldwide. While Linux, UNIX, and Apple computers' numbers are sizable, to say that allying with a company that has its software installed on over 930,000,000 computers worldwide and characterizing said company as a "sinking ship" is myopic at best. However, if I find that a majority of IMAO fans are Linux users, I'll stick with MP3. Unless I hear otherwise, it's looking more like WMA will be the best format for future installments of "IMAO for the Non-Deaf." Thanks, Scott #10 - Posted by: The Real Scott on December 2, 2004 07:46 PMI agree with Scott that calling MS a sinking ship is silly. I do use Linux, though, so (like 6% of the people on the 'net) count me in the pro-mp3 category, please. #11 - Posted by: a guy in pajamas on December 2, 2004 09:48 PMI don't really care what format you use, as long as they're funny. I use iTunes and they play just fine. p.s. This one was funny. #12 - Posted by: LC Trucido on December 2, 2004 11:07 PMalso qorks?
My player is blue. Keep the blue one. #14 - Posted by: Suzi on December 3, 2004 12:37 AMif a blonde can't use it, it won't work. i'm glad you're giving diplomacy another chance, though. #15 - Posted by: pale rider on December 3, 2004 04:16 AMI'm on a Mac, so right now I use Quicktime, I have Windows media player too though, so... do what you like, I'm covered either way #16 - Posted by: Arok on December 3, 2004 09:58 AMMP3, Please. Most of the time, the awesome linux program MPlayer can play any avi or wma or wmv, sometimes better than MS's own program. But... It can't play the Snake Song, which is by far the best non-deaf IMAO yet. It reads it just fine, starts playing it, and sends out a stream of nothing. Silence. I'm not deaf, really! Why is it that MPlayer only refuses to play IMAO stuff? Is it a zionist conspiracy? Remember, 98% is less than 100%. Please stick with MP3. #17 - Posted by: Anonymous Non-Ronin on December 3, 2004 10:59 AMI thoroughly enjoyed this one. Great work! #18 - Posted by: Dr. John Allan on December 3, 2004 11:28 AMJust awesome, scott. Post a comment
