Who was I rooting for in the Superbowl?

The Yankees, as always.

Only in my residental New England could this bunch be known as "The Patriots" (then again, this is the same group of people as Red Sox fans and Kerry voters)

I'm a Bears fan, and I was rooting for the Eagles.

But no, it was not to be, as the Patriots "Dynasty" won again, by the incredible margin of three points.

So that makes them 3-2 in super bowls with an aggregate margin of victory of negative 41. So impressive.

At least Bush still won.

I was rooting for the Eagles, but only because I like to shout out E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles! While flapping my wings.

That's fun too.

Perhaps Bush could visit the Patriots and have Chomps maul them for giving Massachusetts something to cheer about in an upcoming IMW. That would be so... neat.

Superbowl? What's a superbowl? (Ducks to avoid wrath of the other 99% of American males)

yeah! PATS WON!!
not by as much as I was hoping for, but still...PATS WON!!

Am I the only one who thinks that they modeled the Patriots logo on John Kerry? Next time you look at it, note the longness of the face. Can't you just hear it saying "I fought in Vietnaaaaaaaaaaaam!"?

Eerie, isn't it??

Yankees Suck!!!!!!

#7 - Posted by: Dave on February 7, 2005 12:13 PM

Yankees rock.

As do the Eagles.

And the Flyers.

*sigh* We have fallen on dark days lately.

Wise choice, Frank. The Yankees have never lost a Super Bowl. Just like the Detroit Lions.

#9 - Posted by: Silicon Valley Jim on February 7, 2005 03:16 PM

Or the Bears, who beat the Patriots by 36 points, or quadruple the Pats total margin of victory in this decade. :)

Though I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the Lions win it next year for a change.

Go Yankees!

#11 - Posted by: Maniakes on February 7, 2005 04:47 PM

Hey Andy, take heart. The Flyers are undefeated this season.

#12 - Posted by: SCSIwuzzy on February 7, 2005 08:32 PM

Who cares what the bears did 20 years ago. Right now the Patriots are the best team in the NFL. Winning 3 out of 4 Superbowls with a salary cap is supposed to be unheard of.

The sad part is the Pats are only getting better.

Belichik finally figured out how to stay out of people's way so they can do their job. He is not remembered fondly in Cleveland.

To root for the Yankees I would have to leave town.

Frankly as a non-American I've never understood American Football. Did somebody sit down one day and decide Rugby was just too exciting? "Hey fellas why don't we stop the game for two minutes every time somebody gets tackled? And lets make everyone wear silly helmets!" Yeah that sounds much better - not!

On the other hand, at least you're allowed to pass the ball forward...

EAGLES are my favorate team. Have been for a long time. (I grew up in Philly.) Now I live in North Jersey, and the Eagles are still my favorate team, though I root for the Giants and Jets whenever possible. My predictions were a bit off: Both teams have awesome quarterbacks. Both teams have awesome defense. I thought the Eagles would win on special teams. Akers never got a chance to tie it in the end with a field goal. In the end, I think it came down to a time management issue on McNabb's part. He is still my favorite quarterback, and the Eagles are still my favorite team.
Man, I’ll never hear the end of it at my job. I’m surrounded by a bunch of Patriots fans. I’ve had these thoughts in the past, but now it’s official: I friggin hate the Patriots!
