Congratulations - You Pissed Me Off
Posted by Frank J. at 09:00 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (25)

A few things are making me mad, so I thought I'd sound off:

* Pick on Someone Your Own Size: Sixth-graders in Brooklyn wrote a soldier in Korea a number of letters of hate-filled screeds. Who knows if they wrote these on their own or were coached by their teacher or parents (well, I guess someone could "ask" or "investigate," but what do you expect?). Anyway, I have a solution. Our troops should organize all the good sixth-graders they know to converge on those Brooklyn sixth-graders and give them a free lesson in “civics.”

"You got a message for our soldiers? Well, I got a message for you RIGHT HERE ON THIS BAT!"

* If You're Going to Kill Someone, Then Kill Someone: I dunno if you know about the Terry Schiavo case; it's of course big news here in Florida (the local rock station was spending the morning talking about it instead of jokes about smoking weed). There is a link in the Links of the Day™ a few posts down, but lemme sum it up for you. Terry Schiavo is brain-dead or comatose or something (it really doesn't matter for the point I'm making) and her husband wants to cut off her life-support while her parents want her to continue living. Now, the husband, despite the efforts of the parents and governor Jeb, has almost finally secured the rights to kill Schiavo. So here is what he plans to do; cut off her feeding tube so she starves and dehydrates to death.

What the @#$%?

You wouldn't even starve a dog to death, so why is it considered humane to do it to a human? If Michael Schiavo is willing to take an action - cutting off her life support - to kill her, why doesn't he really just be a man and @#$% kill her. Take her out back the hospital and put a bullet in her head, for God's sake. I know I'd rather have my brains blown out than starve and dehydrate to death (you try either, though, it's you going down!).

* Who Is More Foolish: the Fool, or the Fool Who Follows Him?: Rep. Maurice Hinchey is a freak'n 'tard. He should be wearing a tinfoil hat and posting on Democratic Underground, not voting in Congress. He lays out this conspiracy theory that Karl Rove gave the fake documents in Rathergate to make CBS News look (more) like idiots, but admits he has no proof. It's just his "belief." And he thinks these charges with no evidence behind them are so important they need investigating.

Is this guy even dumber than Cynthia McKinney?

But this is a Republic, so the real blame lies on those who vote for that idiot. I say that, after our roving band of sixth-graders are done "educating" the kids in Brooklyn, they should head on over to Hinchey's district and do some more "teaching."

"You like voting for Hinchey, huh? Well, let's see how you vote for him next time WHEN YOU AIN'T GOT NO KNEECAPS!"

Is there anything a roving band of violent sixth-graders can't solve?

...I mean other than an algebra problem.

My kids are always telling me that they'd pull the plug on me in a second. I'll have the last laugh--inheritance tax!

#3 - Posted by: sackofcatfood on February 23, 2005 09:17 AM

Ok, I am going to say it. I too agree that starving Terry to death is not humane and that some kind of injection or a bullet would be faster and less painful to see, but seriously, if all this guy wants to do is get married, why not a divorce or annulment?

#4 - Posted by: oddybobo on February 23, 2005 09:20 AM

She's not brain dead or even comatose. She's severely brain damaged.

And Michael Schiavo wants the million dollar court judgement she was awarded as a result of her injuries. He also wants her dead so he can marry the woman he is living with and has at least one kid with.

If there's one person in the world I would like to kick the shit out of, it's Michael Schiavo.

It's that teacher in Brooklyn that needs to to strung up. Man, that burns me up. In case you didn't know, the U.S. school system is full of America-hating hippies! They take every oportunity bash our country in front of their captive audience--our kids.

In addition to being a dirty, stinky hippie, my 14 year old daughter's English teacher is also crazy as a loon. I was taking out the trash the other day and my daughter piped up, "Americans are soooo wasteful!"

What the hell? "YOU'RE an AMERICAN, missy," was my response. I knew that bit of brain-washing came from her idiot, peace-marching, tree-hugging, SUV-vandalizing, Birkenstock-wearing so-called teacher. With a bit of prodding, I also found out some of the other anti-government propaganda being shoved down my kid's throat.

I think I'll send my girl to school in a Nuke the Moon t-shirt. A message needs to be sent!

Actually, I just noticed the "Hippies Make Me Angry" shirt. That would be way more appropriate.

Being a Floridian, this is something that I have followed pretty closely, we have probably gotten extended coverage due to the fact that the Governor and the State legislature have tried to overturn a court decision.

I don't understand how they can come to the conclusion that they have. They say she's brain damaged and will not come out of her coma. Her parents are willing to take over care and let her husband off the hook, because they believe that she is getting better.

To me the thing to look at is what is the damage if either party is wrong. If the husband is wrong, you've killed somebody. If the parents are wrong, they get to pay a bunch of medical bills and live with false hope. It seems like a simple decision to me. Even if you take a hurt animal to the vet, they will offer to put it down for you. Not tell you there's no hope, just stop feeding it.

I think it's the wrong decision to let her die, I think its a worse decision to let her die of starvation.

Again, what are the consequences of being wrong, if she's not brain damaged to the point of not feeling any pain, she gets to die a horrible agonizing death.

This is a horrible, horrible, tragic circumstance. I can't believe this can be decided by a judge.

Vintage stuff, Frank. Good job.

You forgot to mention the quality of education at Catholic schools, as opposed to the indoctrination of leftist babysitters.

Next thing you know, schools in Brooklyn will be passing out t-shirts with a picture of the burning towers that says, "Not Enough of You Died."

Damn I like Frank when he gets pissed off. Planned, nuclear violence. Yaaa Baby!

The teacher in that Junior High is named Alex Kunhardt. Check out the hits on Technorati. I think he better look for another job...

No, it's New York... they'll promote the spineless hippie a hole.

>>Is there anything a roving band of >>violent sixth-graders can't solve?

Yes...If their potential victims hid in Mexico, they'd be safe. The six graders wouldn't find them on the map.

#11 - Posted by: Tom on February 23, 2005 10:25 AM

I have not heard a few crucial things about the Schaivo case, maybe you can fill me in - why doesnt he divorce her and let her parents assume the responsiblity? He already has a new "lady" and several kids with her, so he has clearly moved on. Is there something like a specific FL law that is hindering him from just relinquishing that tie? I just dont understand why he cares, or pretends to - just give her back to her mom and dad.

#12 - Posted by: h on February 23, 2005 10:28 AM

Here's the solution: have the sixth graders in Brooklyn be taught by Terry Schiavo, have her husband marry the GI in Korea, then send them all away on the spaceship Maurice Hinchey is building to escape the dark evil world of Karl Rove.

That'll teach those butt-probing aliens in the Ozarks!

#13 - Posted by: Bozark on February 23, 2005 10:30 AM

Just a minor clarification on the Schiavo from a fellow Floridian - it's my understanding that she is not on life support so they can't just "pull the plug". She needs a feeding tube for nutrition and the only way they can kill her is to take her off the feeding tube so she starves to death - a biiig difference from stopping life support in my book!

#14 - Posted by: annie on February 23, 2005 10:52 AM

h,

No one knows why he won't just let her go. Some say there is financial gain in it for him, his defense says there is none. Some have speculated that he is in some way responsible for her condition. If that were true it would be in is interest that she not recover. But that is speculation. That is part of the mystery of this case. Everyone says they will forgive you for leaving her in this state, but he won't give in. He insists that it was her wish not to be kept alive.

There was a case recently where a woman came out of a coma after 20 years, I can't believe that hasn't entered into this.

Unfortunately, it looks like she's a goner.

Michael Schiavo says that Terri told him a few years before her collapse/heart attack that she wouldn't want to live on artificial life support, so he's dedicated to carrying out her wishes.

Of course, that isn't what he said when he was trying to get a big chunk of money in a malpractice suit - he said he was going to need the money to provide for her therapy and to take care of her for the rest of her life. As soon as he got the money, he proceeded to try to kill her. He refused to allow the care facility where she was at the time to treat her for a urinary tract infection, even having been advised that it could lead to sepsis and eventually death. At some point they told him that it was against the law for them not to treat her, so that plan was thwarted.

He has since spent the majority of the malpractice award in legal costs trying to have the court allow him to stop giving her food and water. He has refused to give her any rehabilitation or therapy whatsoever, even though several doctors have said that there is a good chance she could be taught to swallow on her own and would not need a feeding tube.

Her parents and her brother have been fighting to get custody of her from her husband so they can take care of her. From the videos that are posted on the Internet, she does not appear to be in a persistent vegetative state as the media keeps reporting. She interacts with her family and her caretakers. She tries to speak. She appears to be aware of her surroundings.

Killing her - especially in such an inhumane way - is unconscionable.

That's my 2 cents worth anyway...

As for the sixth graders, don't EVEN get me started *grumble grumble*

Frank J.

Update your Hinchey story link to here.

Folks ,if you follow the link above, the newspaper has an entire area dedicated t this story, including a message board set up so you can voice your opinion on Hinchey. If you want to follow the whole story, I've got multiple threads up.

Starving sick people to death is going on all the time all over the country. We have only heard about this case because Terri's family will not give up on her. Many, many elderly people who are on feeding tubes are just "allowed to die" by starvation and dehydration. It takes about two weeks.

Babies who born with Down's Syndrome or say a life-threatening condition that requires surgery, but the parents won't give consent ('cause they don't want to raise a damaged child) are left to starve in hospitals as well. They call it "window silling" 'cause they just park 'em by a window and leave them there. When we had a newborn in intensive care at a Children's hospital, we had been told that we didn't have to give consent for surgery for our child and that she would "pass" in 12 to 14 days. We were horrified. I asked about one of the rooms and was told that it was the "window silling room".

I work with Down's Syndrome kids as part of my job. They are great people and certainly don't deserve to die like that.

And don't get me started on that teacher or Michael Schiavo...

Crap. Now I'm pissed, too.

#19 - Posted by: Confederate Yankee on February 23, 2005 11:55 AM

thanks, MikeC for that info. very interesting story, i cant believe the 20 year awakening hasnt figured in either! And Lily, bless your heart. you are a stronger person then i am, there is no way i could take even hearing that let alone seeing it in person.

#20 - Posted by: h on February 23, 2005 11:57 AM

Thanks H, but my reward comes every morning when I see my beautiful daughter's smiling face. She is 13 now, a straight A student and a wonderful person, in spite of the scars from the surgery that they gave her a 20% chance of surviving.

I think of all the parents who wouldn't take the chance on their kids just because they weren't born perfect. All the hugs and love they are missing. All the really great people none of us will ever meet because they starved to death. It just makes me want to cry.

#21 - Posted by: Lily on February 23, 2005 12:18 PM

Lily:
Thanks for doing what you do.
It's easy to get depressed
over the poor treatment of kids
in America and easy to forget there
are people out there doing the right thing. So, again, thanks for the reminder.

Even out here in Kansas, we have several nutcase, leftist teachers.

#23 - Posted by: Adam (VRWC Member) on February 23, 2005 12:25 PM

fyi - The reason we euthanize cats and not humans is because one single cat's life is worth more than any 20 ambiguously chosen humans.

#24 - Posted by: Cincinnati_Bob on February 23, 2005 12:49 PM

Lefty public school teachers are the best excuse to homeschool your children.
I know people from church who have sent their kids to college and they've come back Lefty-Zombies. Now the Left's starting the indoctrination earlier. Probably to "make it stick".
