Okay...

I've just started listening, and I had to pause it really quick in order to beg you to NEVER LET SPACEMONKEY SING AGAIN!!!!

If you need someone to sing something, please go with SarahK.

Spacemonkey is for strapping to missiles or being taken hostage. Do not let him ever sing on your podcast again!

I'm going to go listen to the rest of the podcast now...

After listening more closely, I'm pretty sure that is RightWingDuck trying to impersonate Spacemonkey.

It doesn't really matter.

The only one who should ever sing on your podcast is SarahK. You are seriously off course if someone else is trying to sing.

#4 - Posted by: JMK on August 8, 2005 04:42 AM

That was PRIMO!
-W in Canada? Take off hose head!
-Eyeball eating Butterflies? I knew there had to be a price for all that beauty.
-Sarahk is so smart!
-Is Buck the Marine single?
Oh & Frank, fashion sense is not your forte. Leave that to Sarahk.

"That drink's gonna cost you 15 bucks you stupid tourist."

"If you're the victim of a crime, you'll have to take matters into your own hands and shoot people randomly until you calm down."

Keep up the good work, Harvey :)

I can't remember... why did I refer to Willie Nelson again?

It was Farm Aid, right? Hrm... I guess I kept getting John Cougar Mellencamp Mellencamp-Cougar, Cougar's name wrong.

#7 - Posted by: Laurence Simon on August 8, 2005 09:13 AM

Buck sold me on Ghost Recon 2.

#8 - Posted by: Tyler D. on August 8, 2005 10:19 AM

Another great podcast. I especially liked the bush segment with the great canadian accents. I have one troubling question though, just what were the canucks doing in Lake Michigan in the first place? You mean to tell me they actually conquered a state or two before giving up?

#9 - Posted by: kyle on August 8, 2005 07:30 PM

Laurence could u look into doing a DVD of Crappy Bedtime Stories... live action with awesome special effects? Personally, I would like to see the story of the "Princess and the Pee" done... FrankJ. as the prince and, well, Harvey as the princess.

THE IMAO PODCAST ROX!!!!!

I just wish I was more objective.

#11 - Posted by: spacemonkey on August 8, 2005 10:31 PM

We're still working on the Broadway play "Could this be the end of Spacemonkey?"

I see a Tony for that Ferris Bueller guy.

UMMM, lake michigan doesnt touch Canada.....

#13 - Posted by: Robby on August 9, 2005 08:14 PM

There are regular boat tours that go from Sault Ste. Marie, ON to Chicago, IL.

During the Prohibition Era, rum runners used Lake Michigan to ferry liquor into Chicago.

Ever been on the popular Great Lakes Cruise Company's Chicago-to-Toronto trip?

Great show!
Fun facts is wearing a bit thin though. What are you going to do once you run out of states?
Why not make the IMAO podcast more britishy??
Also, Where was the SarahK review??
From the UK.

Just a quick comment about the blog and plugging the podcasts:

The current method of "big fat post nailed to the top" for every new podcast is a bit tiresome. I come here to read the blog, not to read about the podcast.

I would rather see something like a large button at the top of one of the sidebars that led to the podcast archives. The button could be updated regularly, so people would see it change and know "hey, there is new podcast stuff!" Then, the top of the center column could revert back to being the place to find the most recent blog posts.

Just my thoughts.

Heh, Scott, Chicago's a great landing point when you have illegal goods to sell, but it would make an extremely long trip when planning an aquatic invasion, not to mention being a bite bigger than Canada could chew. Nah, if I were Canada and wanted to start an invasion in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, I'd cross the locks and take over its sister city, Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and from there stage an invasion of Michigan's U.P. That'd be enough to sate the appetite of your average canuck. That, or Alaska.

#18 - Posted by: kyle on August 10, 2005 09:36 PM

Great points, but I'd like to make it clear that:

-The Canadians in the IMAO Podcast are stupid
-Candian pop tart Avril Lavigne would easily be mispronounced as "Ar-vil Luh-vig-nee" by a certain someone we all know and love that is prone to malaprops

That may be, but:

Lake Michigan, the second largest Great Lake by volume with just under 1,180 cubic miles of water, is the only Great Lake entirely within the United States.

http://www.great-lakes.net/lakes/michigan.html
You have to cross into Lake Huron to get to Sault Ste Marie, ON. It's certainly possible to get to Lake Michigan from Canada using Lake Huron, but you implied in the comment above that Lake Michigan itself borders Canada, which is incorrect.

If you're going to give flippant, dismissive comments, at least get your facts right. I know I strive to. ;)

#20 - Posted by: Lionstone on August 11, 2005 09:32 AM

Canada is not the aggressor. You invaded us and we beat you in the War of 1812 and burned your capital.

I just heard the Canadian Military ran out of gas on their way to invade the USA in a boot (boat) that ran out of petrol (gas) on Lake Michigan in your podcast. It wasn't that it was factually incorrect, it was just not funny.

The fact is that there are only five or six people that read or comment in the IMAO forum. If I repost a link to this podcast at Daily Kos, you five should argue and second-guess a line about military invasion from Canada in the unfunny podcast in those forums, eh?

The five of you could fisk any post on a Canadian amphibious assault across the Great Lakes at Kos' forum (a forum that gets more traffic) and maybe drive enough people back to your site to get help for Frank J. to pay off his wedding.

Why would anyone want to do that? Does Kos publicly advocate a Canadian invasion of the US now?
and maybe drive enough people back to your site to get help for Frank J. to pay off his wedding.
Oh, I see. Well, while that's a noble goal to be sure, I don't see the Kossacks supporting Frank J monetarily. Most of them probably don't have jobs, anyway.

The comments thread is just a place where a jackass like me can write, well, comments more or less anonymously. It's not really a forum.

#22 - Posted by: Lionstone on August 11, 2005 02:38 PM

Yeah, what Lionstone said.

#23 - Posted by: spacemonkey on August 11, 2005 04:37 PM

Iadinardi:
Wait a minute! The BLOG isn't funny AND the PODCAST isn't funny AND we get less traffic than KOS? Is this true? Any of it?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
[poking own eyes out]
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!OOOOO!!!O!OO!OO!
Say it isn't so, iadinardi. SAY IT AIN"T SO!

Well I guess that does it, I quit.

Oh and thanks for listening to the podcast don't forget to vote on podcastalley!

*cough* about aggressors, let's talk about who was giving the lil sieg heil to the king of england? Arming the indians to murder our Westerners? Boarding our merchant ships and imprisoning our sailors? Does Iadinardi have anything to confess?

Oh I forgot- canukistanis then burnt our capital down... well I guess the only way we could retailiate was have Andy Jackson and 3,000 men take on ur proud canukistani army of 14,000... pure rape for the US as canuks took 2000+ casualties ,while America had 71... yes a clear and decisive canuk victory over the US... why didn't we give in sooner?!?...
