Where's My Podcast IMAudiO?
Posted by sarahk at 09:13 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (8)

We hope to have it finished before tomorrow. We've had a lot of challenges with this IMAudiO, including producer change (to me, which is gonna not be nearly as good as Scott producing it), hurricanes, birthing of babies, cast member dropping out, and other things. I'm sure that somehow it's all Frank's fault. :-)

Look for it tomorrow. If it's not here, look for it Friday. Don't look for it Saturday, unless you lose it from earlier in the week.

What happened to Scott, Did he turn into a Liberal or something?

Two words: Laughing Academy.

Allow me to address gh_geek's comment:

For me personally, producing the IMAudiO every week was a lot of work.

I had to be the content coordinator (meaning I was not only the writer, editor, and deliverer of final scripts, but I was also the person that had to contact the cast members directly about meeting the performance schedules), sound designer (I would either find or create all of the sound effects and music for the podcast), performer (performing at least 35 different voices... but I lost count), director (a thankless job that was more like a drill sergeant), tireless promoter (another thankless job) and webmaster (designing the IMAOPodcast.com website, writing the customized XML subscriber code for podcasting software, crafting the descriptive text for the week's episode, uploading the MP3, and other miscellaneous Internet duties).

I think it's fair to say that anyone in the position of being the sole person doing all of that work for 12 weeks on a weekly podcast performed by eight different people across four time zones would get burned out rather quickly unless those duties were said person's full-time job.

Amazingly I was doing IMAudiO and working a full-time job pulling 8-10 hour days, 5 days a week in the software industry...

No, I'm not a leftist. I'm a realist and the reality is that there are 8 people involved with the IMAudiO but one guy was doing the super-majority of the work on it.

It's only fair that after 12 weeks of sustaining that level of quality work, many of those responsibilities can now be shifted around to other members of IMAO.

I'm sure SarahK and Frank J can self-produce IMAudiO and the fans will love it...

...and as long as it's feasible I'll still wear a "performer hat" because I am the Dubya and Laura, HFL, Aquaman, and a myriad of other voices you hear in the IMAudiO productions--I just won't be wearing the "sound designer/drill sergeant/scheduler/XML developer/webmaster/editor/scriptwriter/promoter hat" for the IMAudiO productions.

Thanks for the question, gh_geek and enjoy this week's IMAudiO written and produced by SarahK!

Actually, it's not Frankj's fault...it's Bush's fault. Everything is Bush's fault.

Come back!!! I miss my weekly dose of IMAO podcast. Not to mention the four co-workers asking daily "did they post it yet? Can I borrow your MD Walkman when they do???? What about Kansas??"

I thought it was the fault of us JOOOOOoooos....Everything is our fault since we control the media

Robert's right. What's the point of having a token Jew at IMAO if we can't blame him for everything?
