what happened on LOST??
Posted by sarahk at 10:24 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (11)

i'll put most of this below the fold for those who haven't yet seen the episode.

for some reason, our DVR stopped recording right after Shannon and Sayid professed their love for each other. i predicted the whole episode that it would be Shannon who died this episode, unless they did the whole cop-out thing of killing a character that we just met (i.e., someone in the back of the plane). apparently, Shannon did, indeed, die right after our DVR stopped recording. but how, what happened, blah blah blah?

and what are the previews for next week's episode?

Shannon---shot dead---by the survivors from the other side of the island. She and Sayid were out chasing her vision of Walt.

previews for next week are the stories of nine other survivors (nine of them I think they said,) and it's an 'extended' episode.

and oh yeah...in case I didn't mention it, I think it's nine more survivors.
DOH!

Horrible Ana shot her. So now the two groups of survivors have met. Next week we find out what happened to them.

But on the bright side, the 'original' survivors are all together again! (Except for Shannon, of course.)

Then only three more weeks of reruns before we find out if she actually dies, only to find out that the bullet was defective and fragmented before impact, causing a bloody but non-lethal flesh wound.
Future Bright Spot: Hot love scene between Rose and Bernard. AAAWWWWWYYEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

ana was the one who liked jack in the airport before the flight took off. she was always a hard ass but jack seemed a little sparked. i see a love quadrangle coming between jack, kate, ana and sawyer. i predicted that shannon would die as the rule for movies and tv is that if you have sex and are not married, and then run around in a dangerous place scantily clad then you know death is sure to follow. also, shannon was an unsympathetic character before we got the back story glimpse last night of her evil stepmother.

drunken fist is right, they will make us sit thru weeks of cliff notes for the dolts who didnt tune in last season.

The best foreshadowing for the next episode was the look on Sayids face after Shannon got shot. He had just confessed his love, she runs off after the kid and gets killed - he looked pissed! And Ana didn't look too contrite, so I'm kinda thinking a blood/vengeance thing could spring up. At least, I hope.

A lot of people are saying that Ana didn't actually shoot Shannon, but is still a ways away. The cut-scenes made it look like they have met, but there's never a view where they are all in the same clearing together, also the way Ana is holding the gun, ready to fire it (when there was only 1 bullet to begin with)

Ana's gun was definitely empty when you first see her holding the gun in front of her after Shannon gets shot.

I'm no gun person, but the slidey bit on the top of the gun was all the way back like when the last round has been fired.
