I Guess I Better Draft Condoleezza Rice
Posted by Frank J. at 02:35 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (17)

According to John Hawkins’s new blogger poll (which I forgot to participate in this time), Condoleezza Rice is the favorite for conservatives for the next President. The only problem is that she has not said that she will run. Many people have tried to draft Condoleezza Rice, but not me! I think I'll write her a letter that should convince her for sure:

Dear Condoleezza Rice,

Hi. My name is Frank J. You seem like a very nice person, and I think it would be super if you ran for President (of the United States, that is). Though it might be hard and involve some math (which, I hear, women are not good at), I bet you could do a good job if you worked at it. You could even get to order bombings, which is fun.

The reason it is important for you to run is that Hillary Clinton is going to run for President too as she is evil and desires power more than anything else. If she became President, that would be very bad. It might even trigger the End of Days, and I'm not sure I'm ready for that. Thus, it would be very nice of you to become President instead of her. I'm sure you could beat her because you're hardly evil at all when compared to Hillary, and the American public will respond to that.

Thank you very much.

Cordially,
Frank J.

If that won't do it, nothing will.

"Hardly evil at all."

How evil is she, really?

She won't get the nomination. She's not pro-life.

#2 - Posted by: Monika on January 23, 2006 03:51 PM

Well, then she is partly evil isn't she?

#3 - Posted by: Undercover Hippie on January 23, 2006 04:00 PM

"Hardly evil"...is that like almost pregnant, or kinda pregnant?

#4 - Posted by: Ricky on January 23, 2006 04:36 PM

That should do it!

Let's leave 'em speechless!

Colin Powell for V.P.!

#6 - Posted by: heldmyw on January 23, 2006 06:20 PM

Yeah right. I'm sure Republicans are going to nominate a black woman for president. Remember you own the South now.

#7 - Posted by: condi on January 23, 2006 06:24 PM

Sure there are racists in the South. There are racists in the North. On both sides. Fortunately, it's a very small percentage of people. Unfortunately for you liberals, a black woman nomination would take a lot of votes away from you.

Heldmyw, Powell is a bad idea for VP. JC Watts, perhaps.

"It might even trigger the End of Days"...

Ya know, I could totally live with that. Hilary for President!

#11 - Posted by: SilverBubble on January 23, 2006 07:57 PM

It is worth noting that no modern democrat ever achieved the white house with less then 90 percent of the black vote. If Rice runs, I am sure she will get more then 10 percent. And if the 90 percent black vote rule still applies in the next election. Rice wins. It seems to me that what may induce rice to run for president is the fact that any democrat, especially hilary, would undo the work she has performed while working in the present administration. And that may be enough for her to put her hat in the ring. Concerning the abortion issue, I dont think as many conservatives vote on a one-issue ticket as they did in the past. And if given the choice between a pro-choice Hillary or a pro-choice Condi, i think the choice for conservatives is obvious.

"She won't get the nomination. She's not pro-life."

Why do people vote based on a candidate's abortion view. Last I checked, Roe v. Wade took that off the legislative table.

Unless Roe v Wade is overturned, it's an irrelavent topic. If that did happen, it would be the views of STATE legislators that matter, as it would be a STATE'S issue.

It still would not be the President's role.

FIAR,

I think the concern is if any new Abortion legislation tried to snake its way to the President's desk, the One-Issue Ticket folks would want to make sure the Prez vetos or approves, depending on the bill.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Lair. Condi has such a soft stance in regards to Israel. I will never vote for Condi while she fails to support Israel.

#15 - Posted by: Robert on January 24, 2006 02:22 PM

I heart Condi. She pisses off exactly the right people on both sides of the isle.

#16 - Posted by: burrhog on January 24, 2006 07:24 PM

I, a social conservative, too heart Condi. Though she's supposedly more moderate on aff. action and abortion than I would like, it is not dispositive. I anticipate she'd be good enough on those issues (I would hope for a solid pledge on judges, which I think she'd give) - at any rate infinitely better than any Dem that has any chance of winning over their moonbat primary voters - and she remains the closest thing to voting for 4 more years of Bush :)
