PETA cares more about Arab donkeys than Jewish cats
Posted by Laurence Simon at 10:38 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (7)

Today, a kittycat was murdered by terrorists in Israel:

Two Qassam rockets landed in the south of Israel Tuesday. The first rocket hit a house in the town of Sderot, causing damage to property and killing a cat that was hurt by shrapnel in the backyard.

The rocket landed a few meters away from two kindergartens. Following the fall, the children were rushed into reinforced rooms.

The second rocket landed in an open area at a western Negev community.

...

Etti Altman, spokesperson for the Let Animals Live organization, expressed great anger over the cat's death in the attack.

"The organization regrets the fact that Qassam rockets also hit animals, and that a poor cat in the yard was killed as a result of the firing. The responsible groups should take this into consideration and understand that the terror organizations also have the animal rights organizations to deal with," she said.

And Islamic Jihad thought they had their hands full with IDF airstrikes. Now they have to deal with the fury of animal rights organizations - oy gevalt!

Hrm... animal rights organizations... well, PETA has said nothing about this poor, defenseless Jewish kittycat getting murdered by terrorists.

However, when it comes to Arab donkeys, Ingrid Newkirk of PETA gets all hot and bothered. From February 2003:

Yasser Arafat, President Palestinian National Authority Ramallah, West Bank Palestinian Authority

Your Excellency:

I am writing from an organization dedicated to fighting animal abuse around the world. We have received many calls and letters from people shocked at the bombing in Jerusalem on January 26 in which a donkey, laden with explosives, was intentionally blown up.

All nations behave abominably in many ways when they are fighting their enemies, and animals are always caught in the crossfire. The U.S. Army abandoned thousands of loyal service dogs in Vietnam. Al-Qaeda and the British government have both used animals in hideously cruel biological weaponry tests. We watched on television as stray cats in your own compound fled as best they could from the Israeli bulldozers.

Animals claim no nation. They are in perpetual involuntary servitude to all humankind, and although they pose no threat and own no weapons, human beings always win in the undeclared war against them. For animals, there is no Geneva Convention and no peace treaty—just our mercy.

If you have the opportunity, will you please add to your burdens my request that you appeal to all those who listen to you to leave the animals out of this conflict?

We send you sincere wishes of peace.

Very truly yours,

Ingrid Newkirk
President, PETA

Her arrogant silence about the kittycat speaks louder than words. Or meows.

The cats demand justice! The cats demand the freedom to hunt mice and lizards free from Islamic terror! No kittycat should ever have to live with the threat of missile attacks...

Okay, maybe exceptions can be made for toy missiles.

(As for Palestinians blowing up innocent Jewish humans on buses or with the rockets, that's not Ingrid's problem either.)

Just imagine if the rockets had hit the kindergarten. I bet there were all kinds of classroom pets not taken to the reinforced shelters. Hamsters and gerbils, maybe even some fuzzy bunnies. OH MY GOODNESS - THE GOLDFISH, who would cry out for the GOLDFISH?!.

I bet I am the FIRST to think of the Goldfish.

I wonder why she hasn't written a letter to Arafat about the cat.

Um, Spacemonkey... did you forget Arafat is deceased?

#3 - Posted by: DesertElephant on February 7, 2006 12:04 PM

Still?

Blessedly, yes. However, there are a number of other PA/PLO lackeys she can address. Maybe even a nice visit to HAMAS. She can wear this t-shirt when she visits!

I am hereby warning that I might, in the distant future, form a commette to hold a pre-meeting for a meeting with the intent of writing a strong-worded letter complaining about the lack of capitalization in Piper's name in that picture's filename!

Or perhaps I'll just say "wheeee, cat so fluffy!".

Hey, who pointed those missiles at poor Miss Piper - Nardo? I know Fwisky wouldn't do such a thing.
