Friday Catblogging
Posted by Laurence Simon at 09:07 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (23)

Since it's Friday, I thought I'd spread the joy of humor-free, apolitical Friday Catblogging to IMAO (aka "I-MEOW").

Sure, some of the IMAO bloggers have cats, but apparently I'm the only one of them brave enough to Friday Catblog. Maybe they're worried that Japanese will riot and burn down Hello Kitty stores or something.

Anyway, today it's Frisky the Soupmonger:

If you're not sure how this absurd scene pertains to IMAO, since IMAO is famous for that "political humor" thing, it doesn't. If you must have some semblance of politics or humor in everything you read here, just assume that Frisky is... um...

Help me out here. Make your suggestions in the comments how this scene is, in fact, a political allegory.

(For more animal goodness, try Friday Ark today and Carnival of the Cats will be this upcoming Sunday at Catcall, so send your catblogging links to submissions @ carnivalofthecats.com.)

It appears that Frisky the cat is manuvering into a position itself to run against Hillary in the NY Senate race. This cat would be the perfect Republican candidate to beat Hillary. They can't figure out who to run.

Fully prepared.

Frisky is the democratic party. There he sits with the opportunity to get food not made from cow lips and horse anus but can't take advantage cause of the lack of opposable thumbs.

In analogy, the democrats sit with the opportunity to regain power due to both the real mistakes of the Bush administration and the consistent media driven character assasination campaign, but there they sit without an alternate agenda.

OK- Technically higher taxes to pay for free abortions for everyone who isn't in a fully leagal gay marriage, get out of jail free cards for felons and appeasing islamicists IS an agenda, but it sure ain't a winning one.

It's the new democrat plan... A chicken in every can!

#4 - Posted by: Andrew C on March 3, 2006 10:25 AM

He is stocking up for when Hillary becomes president, and we turn into a socialistic government. He wants to be able to eat.

#5 - Posted by: SkyeChild on March 3, 2006 10:41 AM

This is obviously a commentary on the recent issue in Germany where a cat died from bird flu.

#6 - Posted by: Chris on March 3, 2006 11:47 AM

So you're saying the Dems don't have an opposable agenda? That is due to their lack of a prehensile brain.

Frisky is the head of the powerful right wing conservative Cat party who is out to rule the world, one soup can at a time.
He will corner the market on chicken noodle soup, then spread his influence to other flavors.
Eventually he will create world wide soup shortages and sink the world into choas.

Frisky is posing as a DemodRATic candidate running on the "The Shelves Are Bare and We've Squandered Our Children's Future" platform...all the while Frisky has that "I'm a lying sack of shit" look on his face... Bad Frisky!

#9 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on March 3, 2006 01:16 PM

Frisky is the prototypical voter, telling the 'rats:

"No soup (votes) for you!"

What? Someone had to.

#10 - Posted by: MegaTroopX on March 3, 2006 01:26 PM

Frisky is the IAEA, watching over Iran's nuclear program...Just....one....can....at....a....time.

#11 - Posted by: franksalterego on March 3, 2006 01:32 PM

Socialized soup supply! Yay big government! Billiary '08!

#12 - Posted by: crazed dave on March 3, 2006 01:35 PM

I hate cats. When is that pitbull of yours going do it's job and perform the lockjaw/shake already?

#13 - Posted by: paganinfidel on March 3, 2006 03:36 PM

"Cream of Mouse" isn't an option, and all the complaining in the world won't make it one. The Democrats have to do more than complain.

#14 - Posted by: Michael Hutchison on March 3, 2006 03:56 PM

Hurricane season will start in a few months. The cat has now learned not to sit around and wait for the government. So he is getting the pantry supplied.

#15 - Posted by: Sky on March 3, 2006 04:00 PM

He's collecting them to send to the local soup kitchen because, ever since Bush was elected, "we have more and more poor people."

#16 - Posted by: Monika on March 3, 2006 04:15 PM

Obviously Frisky is a Heartless Conservative, because even though he has much soup, and you have none, he is still not going to share it with you...

#17 - Posted by: gridlock on March 3, 2006 04:34 PM

Now that Iran has The Bomb and the entire world's bird population is infested with the bird flu, Frisky is guarding the world's last four cans of Cream of Mouse for his nuclear winter stockpile. The End Is Near.

#18 - Posted by: the paperboy on March 3, 2006 06:21 PM

Louisiana Governor Kathleen "Frisky" Blanco surveys New Orlean's food stockpiles and proclaims, "Park the buses. There is no need to evacuate. The city is ready for any emergency"

#19 - Posted by: Lily on March 3, 2006 07:07 PM

Frisky is thinking : I just ate Michael Moore, and for dessert shall it be soup or Her Heinous Clinton?

#20 - Posted by: DohXs on March 3, 2006 07:24 PM

Frisky is the US. The Cans of soup represent nuclear weapons and the bowl is Iran. Don't you see the cat is between the soup and the bowl, like the US is the only thing between Iran and nukes?

Come on people that is sooo obvious.

#21 - Posted by: Leo on March 3, 2006 07:52 PM

In yet another setback for the increasingly floundering Bush administration, Frisky the Cat was unable to confirm that President Bush had not been specifically informed that the levees in pre-Katrina new Orleans were not in any imminent danger of either not breaching or not overtopping, whichever is the most politically damaging.

#22 - Posted by: Steve Skubinna on March 3, 2006 09:36 PM

She's ready for either:

1) Y2K

2) Global warming

Both are coming soon, and this cat is ready. We should be too.

/sarcasm/
