ssj, I think when the French are involved, Godwin's Law can be ignored. Besides, I think Godwin's Law only applies from a practical perspective if one is comparing a person directly or indirectly to Hitler or the Nazis. Pointing out a historical precident is a bit different.

I used to think the problem with France was leadership, but it's not. The problem with France is the people. They couldn't find a common sense solution with both hands, a flashlight, On Star, GPS, a metal detector, a truffle hunting pig, or a deaf, dumb and blind menkey ( a la Inspector Clouseau.)

Just like after the French Revolution, they deserve what they get. People will have to die and the country will have to be on the brink of annihilation before any level heads will emerge.

Actually, I shouldn't even care even if Godwin's Law is broken. This is a humor site, and so hyperbole is a requirement.

The solution is simple. Simply give tasks to French youth and pay them to do them as part of the protest. French youth have no idea what work is, so they won't know when they're doing it.

I live in France (temporarily, thanks God, haha) and I can testify this people is somewhat wicked. It's almost an atheist nation, where pride has obscured the common sense of their nationals. Plus, they are nearly communists (Chirac in fact is in the center right party, so you can imagine HOW communist is someone that says to be in the left). And third, besides Napoleon, France has never been a country remembered by the courage of their people (in fact, french attack Napoleon's memory).

I must say what daniel says is pretty much true for the current situation, although i disagree for the historical perspective.

French are infected by communism, believe in the state to do everything.
The left profits massively of this situation, and the worst things go, the more the state is viewed as a solution.
