My Bacon Number
Posted by Frank J. at 10:07 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (26)

Thanks to the website spacemonkey posted, I have determined my Bacon Number I asked about earlier. I know it's only supposed to apply to actors, but it's important to know how far separated everyone is from Kevin Bacon.

Anyway, I, Frank J., have a sister who does costume design. She worked on the movie The Eliminator (she did a lot of costume design though IMDB doesn't have her listed) which starred Michael Rooker who was in JFK with Kevin Bacon.

So I have a Bacon Number of 3, only slightly higher than the average actor.

Rating: 0.5/5 (1 vote cast)

One of the graduate students who taught me and with whom I worked with at UNL was Patrick Tuttle.
Patrick Tuttle has a Bacon number of 2.
Patrick Tuttle was in To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar (1995) with Beth Grant
Beth Grant was in Flatliners (1990) with Kevin Bacon
My Baconnummer is 3.
That is just frickin' bizarre.
Small world, I guess.

Okay, my cousin won an Academy Award (for sound editing) for Out of Africa which starred Meryl Streep who was in The River Wild with Kevin Bacon which gives me a Bacon number of 3.

I have another cousin who did the sound for JFK so that actually puts my Bacon number at 2!

Since I went to UNO, which makes us both of us having gone to school in the same state, can I claim some connection to you?

"Judith Ivey has a Bacon number of 2.

Judith Ivey was in Mystery, Alaska (1999) with Maury Chaykin
Maury Chaykin was in Where the Truth Lies (2005) with Kevin Bacon"

I went to high school with Judy and her sister, Sara, and brother Jim. Guess my number is 3. Hooray!

I think she is listed in IMDB Frank. Punch her name in and check the third listing. Although, the movie you mentioned isn't listed among her credits.

I mentioned in the other thread:

I worked on extras casting for JFK...

BN of 1.

All this talk of Kevin Bacon makes me want to watch Tremors again.

#8 - Posted by: ssj2gunslinger on April 19, 2006 08:00 AM

Mmmm, bacon.

#9 - Posted by: Mac on April 19, 2006 10:04 AM

I thought this was about pork. Now I'm not interested.

I was in a play in 1982 with Christian Slater. Slater was in Murder in the First with Kevin Bacon. Makes my Bacon Number 2.

#11 - Posted by: Just me on April 19, 2006 10:27 AM

My Bacon Number is 3. My cousin Rolf Saxon was in Entrapment (1999) with Maury Chaykin, who was in Where the Truth Lies (2005) with Kevin Bacon.

#12 - Posted by: Wacky Hermit on April 19, 2006 11:31 AM

In the future everyone will be Kevin Bacon for 15 minutes.

#13 - Posted by: spacemonkey on April 19, 2006 12:43 PM

#3 - My sister-in-law knows Mary Lynn Rajskub (her best friend's niece) who was in Road Trip (2000) with Rachel Blanchard. Rachel Blanchard was in Where the Truth Lies (2005) with Kevin Bacon. Mary Lynn is a #2 - but since I don't know her directly...I'm a #3. That makes me #3 from JACK BAUER too!

#14 - Posted by: Heather Y on April 19, 2006 12:50 PM

Maybe I counted wrong...I'm #4 aren't I?

#15 - Posted by: Heather Y on April 19, 2006 12:52 PM

But then I'd be 3 from Bauer. Bacon math is hard.

#16 - Posted by: Heather Y on April 19, 2006 12:53 PM

Heather,
Forget Kevin Bacon: your sister-in-law knows Mary Lynn Rajskub! Would she want to do a blog interview?

#17 - Posted by: Frank J. on April 19, 2006 12:54 PM

I watched a movie once that had bacon in it. Does that count?

#18 - Posted by: slapout on April 19, 2006 01:00 PM

I can ask...but I think she's busy fighting terrorism at Bill Buchannan's house right now. ;)

#19 - Posted by: Heather Y on April 19, 2006 01:15 PM

I had a professor in college who worked with Kevin Bacon's dad on several architecture projects. They once had dinner with Kevin. Therefore, my number is 2.

#20 - Posted by: Rusgreim on April 19, 2006 02:10 PM

You do know Kevin Bacon was linked to Al-Qaeda, don't you?

#21 - Posted by: Bob in Feenicks on April 19, 2006 05:50 PM

I am also a 3, thanks to Aunt Dorothy.

#22 - Posted by: Gullyborg on April 19, 2006 06:01 PM

I know NO ONE in Hollywood. My Bacon number is infinity. And I'm proud of it!

#23 - Posted by: Undercover Hippie on April 19, 2006 11:13 PM

I've eaten plenty of bacon.
Does that count?
A few years back when I lived in DC there were a couple afternoon DJ's (WARW, I forget the main guy's name but his sidekick was Dave the Predictor) who did a call-in Bacon game every day. People called with obscure actors. If you stumped them you won something. Very few people stumped these guys. They always found a connection.

#24 - Posted by: Horrabin on April 20, 2006 12:09 AM

Dang! My curiosity got the better of me and my Bacon number is actually a 4. A far cry from infinity ... too far.
