Let's Make Fun of the Idiots
Posted by Harvey at 12:55 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (22)

Withered old hippy Neil Young has penned hisself a 21st century protest song, "Let's Impeach The President". Lyrics as follows:

Let’s impeach the president for lying
And leading our country into war
Abusing all the power that we gave him
And shipping all our money out the door

He’s the man who hired all the criminals
The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors
And bend the facts to fit with their new stories
Of why we have to send our men to war

Let’s impeach the president for spying
On citizens inside their own homes
Breaking every law in the country
By tapping our computers and telephones

What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
Sheltered by our government’s protection
Or was someone just not home that day?

Let’s impeach the president
For hijacking our religion and using it to get elected
Dividing our country into colors
And still leaving black people neglected

Thank god he’s cracking down on steroids
Since he sold his old baseball team
There’s lot of people looking at big trouble
But of course the president is clean

Thank God

Inspired by his complete inabilty to master the art of meter & rhyme after 40 years of penning pompous squeals of indignation, I've decided to write my own counter-protest song. I just hope it's clumsy and unsingable enough to become a hit with the tie-dyed intellectuals.

LET'S MAKE FUN OF THE IDIOTS

Let's make fun of the idiots who're lying
Trying to make our country lose the war
Abusing all the freedom of speech they have
And shipping the truth right out the door

They're the men who cheer on the terrorists
The murderers plotting behind closed doors
Leaving out facts to fit their agendas
Forgetting who struck first to start the war.

Let's make fun of the idiots who say it's spying
To listen to terrorists because they're calling from home
To other terrorists outside the country
I guess it's their right to plan killings over the phone.

They think that George Bush blew up the levees
Poor construction wouldn't make them fail that way
Don't point fingers at Ray Nagin's government
Because he couldn't find any bus drivers that day

Let's make fun of the idiots
For smearing Bush just to try to get elected
Campaigning on the politics of color
Yet still leaving black people neglected

It's sad to see these people stuck on stupid
In this war they're rooting for the enemy's team
The New York Times prints state secrets on the front page.
But they say their consciences are still clean

It's sad.

Hopefully Neil Young will retire soon so that I never have to dirty myself this way again.

I’m sorry about the punctuation errors; I just passionately blurted it out to quickly.

#2 - Posted by: Pork & Beans on May 29, 2006 01:59 PM

So.... is he no longer Canadian?

"Hopefully Neil Young will retire soon so that I never have to dirty myself this way again."

You've got a Heart of Gold, Old Man.

#4 - Posted by: Ron Rockstar on May 29, 2006 02:52 PM

He's still Canadian; still hasn't got American citizenship.

#5 - Posted by: RightWingFromNY on May 29, 2006 02:59 PM

Is it physically possible to break "every law in the country"?

Truly pathetic.

#6 - Posted by: SilverBubble on May 29, 2006 04:54 PM

I can just picture the title of this clown's next tune: "I'm a Moth-Eaten Old Has-Been and Appealing to the BDS Crowd is the Only Way I Can Think of to Regain the Popularity I Once Enjoyed."

#7 - Posted by: ZK on May 29, 2006 05:47 PM

Remember, "A southern man don't need him around, anyhow."

#8 - Posted by: GEBIV on May 29, 2006 05:53 PM

Dirty stinkin' hippie. Can I shoot him and put him out of our misery?

#9 - Posted by: SeanS on May 29, 2006 06:07 PM

This calls for another song: "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition".

#10 - Posted by: DixieDarlin' on May 29, 2006 06:45 PM

Is he worth the bullet?

#11 - Posted by: AussieCasper on May 29, 2006 07:10 PM

Awesome parody! Thanks for the laugh.

#12 - Posted by: Ron on May 29, 2006 08:18 PM

AussieCasper, bullets were made just for such occasions.

#13 - Posted by: SilverBubble on May 30, 2006 12:51 AM

Seems like a waste of money though. there must be better ways to spend 3 cents (or whatever bullets cost, I get all mine from the weapons of the bad guys I kill.)

#14 - Posted by: AussieCasper on May 30, 2006 01:25 AM

Wow.

Neil Young can sing??

I've listened to some of his tunes, and I have yet to hear him sing. Or say something meaningful. Maybe if he changed his name to Pelosi, or McCain. Or moore...

Nahhh... still nothing but a whiney droning.

#15 - Posted by: AlanABQ on May 30, 2006 07:08 AM

A southern man don't need him around anyhow...

#16 - Posted by: Gunga on May 30, 2006 07:27 AM

This northern man was thinking pretty much the same thing... :-)

#17 - Posted by: Harvey on May 30, 2006 07:34 AM

I have great taste in music...never EVER listened to Neil Young! Yea me!

#18 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on May 30, 2006 07:34 AM

Firstly, excellent parody. Secondly, Young has always been a douche bag, just another pussy Canadian (not all Canucks are pussies). BTW, aren't Alfalfa from the old Spanky and Our Gang series and Neil Young one and the same. They suire do sound alike. Finally, Young was always the turd in the punch bowl known as Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

#19 - Posted by: captamerica on May 30, 2006 07:37 AM

why did you sully yourself by writing that? didn't frankk advise to punch liberals in their stupid monkey faces?

Goe, just sayin'

#20 - Posted by: goemagog on May 30, 2006 11:28 AM

"Let’s impeach the president for lying
And leading our country into war".

Starting a war is basis for impeachment now? Better not give the president the authority to do so then.

We had a grad student, who like N.Y. and played him in the lab. Our boss would come into the room and exclaim - "Oh, I thought someone was disembowling a cat".
