Frank your witty and irreverent style takes me back to the my days as a youth in Texas, when blah, blah, blah, droning on and on endlessly and with seemingly no point to make whatsoever. As anchorman of the CBS Evening News, I signed off my nightly broadcasts for nearly two decades with a simple statement: "And that's the way it is."
To me, that emasculates the newsman's highest ideal: to distort the facts as he sees them, without regard for the consequences or controversy or truth that may ensue.
Sadly, that is not an ethic to which all politicians aspire - least of all in a time of war, especially those damn Democrats.
I remember. I misreported the Vietnam War. I remember the lies that were told, by me for the most part, the lives that were lost (I once killed a teenage Vietnamese prostitute who satisfied my fetish for... blah, blah, blah, droning on and on endlessly and with seemingly no point to make whatsoever) - and the shock when, twenty years after the war ended, former Defense Secretary Robert S. McNamara admitted he knew it was a mistake all along not to nuke the moon.
Today, our nation is fighting two wars: one abroad and one at home and one at the polls. Hmmmm, I guess that’s three wars. While the war in Iraq is in the headlines, the other war is still being fought on our own streets. Its casualties are the wasted lives of our own citizens who bother to vote democrat in elections. I recall sitting at Cape Kennedy watching with marvel as the Saturn V rocket soared toward the heavans, blah, blah, blah, droning on and on endlessly with seemingly no point to make whatsoever. Frank did I mention I’m banging that Huffington skank? Well she reminds me of a younger, less lispy nazi-like Barbara Walters, who I also did.
