Why has Laurence been so quiet?
No, the cats haven't eaten me. The truth is, I've been down in IMAO Labs for a few days working on a new project. Why? Well, it seems that some of y'all are wanting a IMAO Video Podcast, so FrankJ rolled a dime down the stairs, I ran after it, and he locked me in the basement until I came up with a video podcast. (I resisted the penny and the nickel, but when it was a dime, well, I just couldn't resist! Damn my money-sniffing genes!) I know that many of you were hoping for SarahK to star in the IMAO Video Podcast because she's so pretty and all (way prettier than Michelle Malkin), but FrankJ wasn't about to leave her locked in the basement with me, so... Comments and suggestions welcome. 20 Responses To "Why has Laurence been so quiet?"
Well then, that was different. Not in a bad way, not in a really good way. Different. #1 - Posted by: Wally on October 18, 2006 10:32 PMEveryone has a spacemonkey impression these days. #2 - Posted by: MB on October 18, 2006 11:27 PMI found the video's first 20 seconds so disturbing that I couldn't watch the rest. #3 - Posted by: SilverBubble on October 18, 2006 11:30 PMYour flag is placed incorrectly. When placed on a wall, the stars should always be in the upper left corner as viewed - it doesn't matter if the flag is hanging with the stripes vertical or horizontal. No comment on the video. #6 - Posted by: Gun Nut on October 19, 2006 07:03 AMUm. Good sound! Maybe do a Meow Mix House (the videos)bit with your cats and act out a crappy bedtime story - even if you used stills it would be pretty funny. Nothing to elaborate prop-wise - lots of face shots probably, or photoshop them into hand-drawn or news photo backgrounds. #7 - Posted by: Kent on October 19, 2006 07:31 AMAfter viewing that, I'm curious to find out if they let you out of the basement or just sent down a basket with some lotion in it. Repeat after me, "it rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again." Perhaps some fake spacemonkey man on the street interviews? At least that will get you out of the basement for a short while. #8 - Posted by: Chris on October 19, 2006 08:16 AMFrom "Hot Air" to "What's That Smell In The Air?" Gotta love that monkey puppet. #9 - Posted by: Remulak MoxArgon on October 19, 2006 10:40 AMthat was purty funny. #10 - Posted by: bikermommy on October 19, 2006 10:49 AMMy IQ just dropped ten points. #11 - Posted by: jork on October 19, 2006 11:01 AMSilverBubble: You know, my wife tells me a lot. MB: The voice was based on Bill from "King of the Hill" because there's just no redoing the original Spacemonkey. Gun Nut: I'm a fake, so I have it backwards. Chris: I plan on doing interviews of Leftwingduck and Fake Harvey soon. And the person doing my voice can do an EXCELLENT Jamie Gumm as opposed to Bill from "King of the Hill." (He does a better Hank Hill than Bill, actually.) Jork: Just wait for the October Surprise, and you'll get a bounce. #12 - Posted by: Fake Spacemonkey on October 19, 2006 11:19 AMThe monkey shook so much I couldn't look at it. It was making me dizzy. And I second the comment about the flag. What kind of unpatriotic person hangs the flag backwards??? (says me, who left my flag out unilluminated at night) #13 - Posted by: Wacky Hermit on October 19, 2006 11:34 AMI hope the budget on that wasn’t more than $25. I’m assuming you already own the flag. One suggestion. Ask Frank to get you some Helium. Yeah,... not that great. How about Sarah or Frank get their skirts in front of the camera and entertain us properly. And a backwards flag is not cool... Too many people see that crap and learn the improper way to display the flag. This is an all-time low for IMAO. --NOT COOL-- #15 - Posted by: Roger on October 19, 2006 04:50 PMDees is awl purt uf a crool zy-knist cunspursy fulled upper wit joooooooooooooooooooooos, and fer gud meshur, more joooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos! I want to see this done with the Scary Evil Monkey and his accent. I can never quite place it. It seems kinda Cuban or very very heavily Mexican. But I'm just going on phonetics. #17 - Posted by: DesertElephant on October 19, 2006 09:37 PMIt deserves an Oscar #18 - Posted by: beno on October 20, 2006 12:17 AMNo Jamie Gumm impressions please. It still scares the crap out of me 15 years later. #19 - Posted by: jonag on October 20, 2006 12:42 AMWell, it was a test. Whether that test was successful remains to be seen. Frank, you didn't lock Lawrence in long enough.... #20 - Posted by: HerrMorgenholz on October 20, 2006 06:09 AMPost a comment
