Letter to the RNC
Posted by sarahk at 06:20 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (24)

I emailed the RNC, and Frank told me I have to post it on IMAO, so here it is.

To: Dumb Stupid Heads (info@gop.com)
From: SarahK (sarahk -at- sarahk ::dot:: us)
Subject: Did you miss the election or something?
Message:

I'm just wondering, because appointing Mel Martinez chair was about the dumbest thing you guys could have done. You're completely plugging your ears and saying, "La la la la la," while your base is screaming, "Nooooooooo!" to just about everything you guys are doing.

Y'all have lost me. Completely. I will possibly never vote Republican again. And since I could never vote Democrat, except for maybe Joe Lieberman -- oh, no wait, he's an Independent -- it looks like I'll be throwing away my vote on Libertarians.

Maybe this asinine move will be the final nail in the coffin of the Republican party. We need a new conservative party. Because you guys are not doing the job. Shame on you for abandoning us.

---
Y'all can email the Dumb Stupid Heads at the GOP, too. info@gop.com.

Excellent letter. I will be sending one with very similar content to these morons! Oh wait...I'm just one of the rubes out here...what do I know...

I'm with you on the third party. So with you.

I just looked and REPUBLICANREPLACEMENT.COM is available as a domain.

#2 - Posted by: Brett Rogers on November 13, 2006 07:21 PM

Ok there is a fight going on for the leadership of the Republican party on a few issues. If everybody could just wait to see how things pan out, that would be great. My hope is in the House for conservative leadership. Its just a bigger pool with some good people.

#3 - Posted by: sean on November 13, 2006 07:26 PM

Excellent email. I'm sending something similar right now.

I have to agree with ya'll, the GOP has gone stale and needs to be thrown out. They stopped the ideology of "smaller gov't and lower taxes" and ran with the "we need bigger guns to stop the fags and wetbacks" ideology. Well that only works on the boarder states. we need a gov't the works FOR the people and their rights, not against them. Look up www.lp.org and see how it's growing with the converts from the Dems and the Reps... Lots of folks are in your shoes, dismayed at the Reps attempts to carry votes through religion. Lots of others are just as fed up with the Dems caterin to the special interest groups. Maybe in 08 we can come together and agree that a third party is the best way to go.... maybe...

#7 - Posted by: Rowdy on November 13, 2006 08:27 PM

Was Harriet Meyers busy or something?

#8 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on November 13, 2006 09:20 PM

While I share in your dismay at the abysmal performance of the Republican party, I sure hope all this AWOL talk doesn't catch on....that's all we need, more Democrats being elected.

#9 - Posted by: timmyroy on November 13, 2006 09:25 PM

Timmyroy... what's the difference - really - between the Repubs we have now and the Democrats? With the exception of the GWOT, they're both big government, fiscally irresponsible groups?

And as I watch GWB appear to lean toward frittering away victory in Iraq, I have no problem letting the GOP go. The best thing we can do for the GOP and the Dems is give them competition - because frankly, it doesn't exist today.

You know, GOPREPLACEMENT.COM is also available.

Sean, just admit it, you're really Mel Martinez, aren't you? Boehner is going to get the minority leader and the Republicans are going to be back in the darkness for 40 more years.

#12 - Posted by: keith on November 14, 2006 07:31 AM

How about Lincoln Chafee for Senate Campaign Re-election Chair? Why not? Let's go all the way and just drop a big turd on the base! F'em! This is a new day for our President and he has strategery with the Democrats to do now...

#13 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on November 14, 2006 08:18 AM

How about you guys check the Constitution Party. They're kinda llike the Libertarians, without the "legalize Pot!" rants. I'm liking them much more than the Libertarians due to that fact.

#14 - Posted by: HKPistole on November 14, 2006 08:25 AM

I dunno, I think the Constituonals (don't know if that's what they're called) are just as nuts as the Libertarians if not more so. They think that Bush is trying to make a North American version of the European Union.

But at least they're for War on Terror (I think) unlike the Libertarian Party (most of it anyway, or at least that's the platform) so maybe they're the best of a number of bad options.

#15 - Posted by: bgrx on November 14, 2006 10:49 AM

I grew up during the 1970s, when the Republicans were spineless, lily-livered liberals who thought that they could buy votes because (a) they were spending a buttload of money and (b) they thought that GOP voters were retards. It's nice to see that current batch of Republicans has gone all retro on us.

Excellent letter, by the way.

Fantastic!

#17 - Posted by: Dr. John Allan on November 14, 2006 02:17 PM

bgrx; Bush is. Go to wnd.com and a few other conservative web sites to see for yourself. Bush's daddy, (read my lips, no new taxes) is a one-worlder and sonny is taking up his cause. Why do you think Bush 41 gets along so well with Slick Willy?

#18 - Posted by: allthatsright on November 14, 2006 03:38 PM

We need a hybrid party to replace the GOP for now, like how about a Libertarian Republic party, or Neo-Conserverative party. Libertarians want less gov't, and I propose we start with the wholesale eradication of every Liberal Democrat in any gov't position. But first, as part of Conserverative morals, we'll pray for their souls & their families. Once we say Amen...

OPEN SEASON!!!

Dearest Keith, nobody is saying that we should have a liberal Republican party. I don't really know anything about Martinez, but unfortunately, I think a fractured conservative base leads to a liberal Republican party, which gets dems elected. Things don't happen in a bubble. We elected Bush before 9/11 and after that things changed for him. My impression: he spent like a dem to get things going in the war (one issue people seem to be upset about). Also nobody knew immigration would be an issue in 2000. Now you guys are acting like its the most important issue in the world.

Let me throw an idea out there. Instead of framing the immigration debate like it has been, we argue that as many people could immigrate to America as want to, if we simply eliminate the welfare state that we have created. That is one of the major problems, correct? That kills two birds with one stone.

#20 - Posted by: sean on November 14, 2006 05:45 PM

Sean,

That doesn't eliminate 2 birds with one stone as in my state, AZ the population is somewhere around 15-25% illegal, yet responsible for 80% of the prison population for major crime offenses. Welfare state or not bubba.

#21 - Posted by: DesertElephant on November 14, 2006 07:27 PM

Sean is right. The reason we have so many illegals even in our prisons is our welfare brings them to the U.S.A. Get rid of the welfare state and they will stay home. Less illegals equals less prison population.

#22 - Posted by: allthatsright on November 14, 2006 10:50 PM

No, it does not. Our complacent attitude towards illegal immigrants coupled with the desire to hire hard working people for less money is where the problem lies. We always hear all the outrage about outsourcing jobs to foreign nations, yet we are being outsourced on our own soil because we, as a laboring people, have not remained dilligent in protecting what we had. With unions & their "we deserve more just because" attitude & the corporate "profits before people" attitude, the hard working, independant and sincere American got caught in the crossfire.

The welfare fiasco is a direct reflection of our ignorance. Who are you going to give respect to first: the fat lazy induvidual who takes every advantage of social amenities like welfare, foodstamps & WIC, or the person who comes here to make a better life & be prosperous in comparison to his homeland?

You want to talk about welfare? Make the homegrown recipients answer for their lame excuses why they can't find a job, but can always find the strength & creativity enough to breed more kids AND find time to get drugs, booze and smokes.
