A Special Message From RNC Chair - Mel Martinez
Posted by RightWingDuck at 01:58 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (29)

melmessage.JPG

Update: Sheesh, people. I'm NOT saying Mel is Mexican. Mel is from FLORIDA. There are no Mexicans in Florida. (Gentlemen's agreement. We give them Florida, they let us have California.) This has to do with his lax immigration attitudes. See this link.

BTW, See the BIG Mexican flag in the background? See the LITTLE American flag in the foreground? That's the level of priorities we should expect when it comes to dealing with illegal immigration.

The really sad part is that I end up having to explain most of my jokes. I'm glad I still have my day job.

Viva la RNC!!!!

Maybe wit da help of Senior Martinez the Republicanos will git da support of da mezicans. Specially since der won't be no border fence to keep dem out, ese.

#2 - Posted by: Powered by Guinness on November 15, 2006 02:34 PM

Uhh, ya'll do know that Martinez is Cuban and not Mexican, right? There is a difference.

#3 - Posted by: dpatten on November 15, 2006 02:41 PM

dpatten - Ummmmm...we do...errrrrr, but apparently.....uh...the RNC does not...

#4 - Posted by: Gunga on November 15, 2006 02:48 PM

Yes there is a difference but I dont think they care.

If you tell them he is Cuban they will answer back, "I don't care what part of Mexico he is from!"

Now lets watch the GOP eat its young.

#5 - Posted by: Giovanni on November 15, 2006 02:50 PM

I thought about that while I was making this.

Nope. I'm not saying that MEL is Mexican. This has to do with this Welcome Mexico attitude on immigration.

#6 - Posted by: RightWingDuck on November 15, 2006 02:55 PM

Y hola, Gio. You wisdom is muy poquito.

#7 - Posted by: El Bandito Loco on November 15, 2006 02:55 PM

Mel looks like Tom Wilkinson. Hope he doesn't implement his brain erasure techniques to make us all forget we hate illegal aliens. I would, however, like to forget about Hildebeest and Nancy-boy Pelosi.

#8 - Posted by: PaleoMedic on November 15, 2006 02:55 PM

Oh and by the way the word is

"Horale" not "Odele"

What are you talking about? I have no wisdom if I did I would run a conservative blog and then try to indentify the guy by the name of "Martinez" as mexican even though he is Cuban.

Look I don't care what you do. As long as you don't let us loose the War in Iraq. That to me is priority number 1.

#9 - Posted by: Giovanni on November 15, 2006 03:08 PM

OK, as long as we have that straight.

I'm not trollin' honest.

I agree that appointing Martinez is pandering, and poorly done pandering at that. Isn't there a Mexican-American they could have picked so they could pander properly? Hell, Jeb's wife Columba is Mexican. They coulda picked him.

Also, when the inevitable amnesty passes It's going to further alienate voters from the Republican party.

I'll be one of them.

#10 - Posted by: dpatten on November 15, 2006 03:16 PM

I was wondering what the hell Odele meant?

#11 - Posted by: RightWingDuck on November 15, 2006 03:21 PM

Ducky, I thought it was funny. there there, there there...

#12 - Posted by: HKPistole on November 15, 2006 03:41 PM

There are LOTS of Mexicans in Florida. We have these huge orange groves and strawberry and tomato fields. Personally, I think we should give them California and keep Florida.

#13 - Posted by: dpatten on November 15, 2006 03:44 PM

Wait, how can a person be from Cuba when their name is from Mexico?

And anyway isn't he an American?

#14 - Posted by: spacemonkey on November 15, 2006 03:47 PM

Well, thank you for the Spanish language & geography lessons, Giovanni. You are very kind to set us straight.

#15 - Posted by: AlanABQ on November 15, 2006 03:48 PM

Ducky,
I think I got the joke. The point is you hate brown people, right?

#16 - Posted by: Frank J. on November 15, 2006 03:53 PM

Kind??? Really?!?!?

Because I was trying pretty hard to be a DICK.

#17 - Posted by: Giovanni on November 15, 2006 03:56 PM

You don't say... maybe give yourself an English lesson & look up the term "facetious".

#18 - Posted by: AlanABQ on November 15, 2006 04:03 PM

Well how many lessons do you need to understand?

"...trying pretty hard to be a DICK."

#19 - Posted by: Giovanni on November 15, 2006 04:13 PM

Apparantly, I need a lot. Maybe you could recommend a good re-education camp for us neo-cons?

BTW, I was the one being facetious...

#20 - Posted by: AlanABQ on November 15, 2006 04:24 PM

And I was the one being a Dick.

I dont have anything against neo-cons (actualy I agree with everything you stand for) but if you are going to make a joke at least get it right. I mean this whole "I knew he was cuban all the time" sounds as possible as "I meant to say you get stuck in Iraq just like President Bush."

This intellect bows to no earthly King.

#21 - Posted by: Giovanni on November 15, 2006 04:30 PM

I hadn't said anything about his heritage one way or another, as I think it's a moot point. As far as the joke goes, well the surname Martinez originates in Spain (I think), so maybe he's got Anglo & muslim heritages too.

#22 - Posted by: AlanABQ on November 15, 2006 04:39 PM

It is a great day in America when people feel they can make fun of anyone, regardless of the color of his skin or the origin of his surname.

#23 - Posted by: Wacky Hermit on November 15, 2006 06:27 PM

Actually he is an American of (insert country here) heritage. As long as he doesn't start doing the "hyphen" thing. You know, (whatever)-American.

Does it really matter if we say Cuba or Mexico or any other Latin American country? Don't think so because "those people" use the term "white people" pretty liberally. Where exactly is the country of White? If they want us to be specific on there orign they better return the favor.

And my heritage is meat-eating gun-toteing American.

Just saying...

#24 - Posted by: Powered by Guinness on November 15, 2006 07:14 PM

Well it all depends on skin tone. I am of Italian descent but because my skin is darker, have the shadow of a mustache, and live on the west coast. I am inmediatly Mexican. Even though I have never set foot in mexico and sure as hell don't like them.

And no I am not racist. I dont like Mexicans not because of their color or the fact that some of them can't speak English but because I think they are crappy neighbore.

#25 - Posted by: Giovanni on November 15, 2006 07:27 PM

Gio, we promise not to screw up Iraq if you can make your Party promise the same.

And I always knew you were a neo-con at heart. You just have trouble getting rid of the D.

We understand, our Closeted Conservative Friend. What we all really are is FrankJ Republicans. We need a snappier Party name though.

I recommend Killocrats or Warmongercans. Just spitballing here.

#26 - Posted by: DesertElephant on November 15, 2006 08:55 PM

I'm still waiting for the definion of "horale" as opposed to "odele" & why it was a point of contention. Defining foreign terms is fine, but I get a little nauseated when someone feels the need to correct me on my pronunciation of foreign terms in a predominantly English speaking nation. It's not as though I have ever met a Latino who is deeply concerned with the proper way to pronounce the term "Celtic", or as the way it is often pronounced these days, "seltic". Nevermind any obligation to spell it right or define it. But I suppose others could argue semantics night & day, yet never make a solid point. (Mr. Moore, we're looking your way...)

#27 - Posted by: AlanABQ on November 16, 2006 03:54 AM

I really dont care but if you are going to insult people you might as well get the spelling right so they know what it is that we are insulting.

Then again you may be right this might fall in to the bin of "I am American, I dont give a crap."

You know what I changed my mind from now on I will call it "Odale."

And by the way the rough meaning of that is "Alright."

#28 - Posted by: Giovanni on November 16, 2006 02:31 PM

About the language defs go, I think that horse is dead, G... stop flogging it.
