Pardons
I'm tired of these annual President Pardons The Turkey headlines. I don't want to turn on the news and see a president pardoning a turkey. I don't even want to see him pardon two turkeys. This is a former Texas governor. He should never, ever offer clemency to the condemned. I want to see Bush heft up an axe and bring it down on the neck of the turkey, killing that suck dead for his crimes against society. Then he should pass the mashed potatoes. 16 Responses To "Pardons"
Then he should pass the mashed potatoes. You'd never see Clinton doing that since eating a turkey would make him a cannibal. #2 - Posted by: AlanABQ on November 22, 2006 05:35 PMThat's not true, Alan. Every time he gazes at a turkey's drumsticks, he's reminded of Hitlery and thus loses all appetite. #3 - Posted by: DesertElephant on November 22, 2006 07:11 PMEither you are with us or with the Turkeys. #4 - Posted by: LOOMDOG on November 22, 2006 07:34 PMDon't kill turkeys! Let the fine people at Butterball do it for you. #5 - Posted by: Kevin on November 22, 2006 09:16 PMWell, how 'bout that - a president who would rather pardon a turkey than an American soldier who has done his job a little too well. Hail to the 'Conservative' Chief. God help us. #6 - Posted by: Paul K. on November 22, 2006 09:42 PMI agree, Paul. God help us. What branch of service are you? #7 - Posted by: AlanABQ on November 23, 2006 04:28 AMOk. That tears it! He's spent WAAAAY too much time in D.C. He's soft on illegal immigration reform. What's next? Backing out of funding the military's plans to put frickin' lasers on frickin' sharks to appease PETA?!! Impeach the %$#@&*, I just dont' care anymore. Hey, Bush: WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH ALL THIS GRAVY NOW, HUH?! #8 - Posted by: Lone Star on November 23, 2006 09:03 AMAll joking aside, I hope you, Laurence, FrankJ, SarahK, RWD, SpaceMonkey, and all your loved ones have a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving! You guys always make me laugh here on the blog and in the podcast. Keep up the good work! God bless! #9 - Posted by: on November 23, 2006 11:31 AMI say let the Turkey walk; it's the Pig that's going down. "Bring in the spiral slicer!" #11 - Posted by: Leland on November 23, 2006 07:03 PMYou know, I was thinking the same thing the other day when I saw him on TV. Who's going to mess with a president who whacks the head off the turkey? Kind of a Nuke the Moon move. #12 - Posted by: jonag on November 24, 2006 01:36 AMTHANK YOU, AlanABQ That is one of the best compliments I have ever received. Alas, I am not in the armed services, as I was rejected way back in the eighties due to asthma and allergies. I know I would probably be a much better person today had I been allowed to serve. My grandpa was Army Air Force (Test pilot, Stateside, WWII) and my step-grandpa was Army (Infantry, ETO, WWII, and Japan occupation). I am so proud of them. Are you in the service? God bless - Paul #13 - Posted by: Paul K on November 24, 2006 04:39 AMNo, I wound up in a similar predicament when I tried to enlist mid 90's. But I too had one grandfather who served in the Navy during the 2nd world war. My other grandfather spent three years in a Japanese prison camp during the same war & was liberated by the Marines. He once said the most beautiful words he ever heard were the Marines yelling at the POW's to "Get down, you sons a bitches!" during their liberation, machine guns flaring at their Japanese captors. I always wish I could've served my country and honor those who came before. #14 - Posted by: AlanABQ on November 24, 2006 07:02 PMI need everyone to tell the truth. with all the turkey pardoning, one or two a year for the past 70 years or so, how many are in that "farm" they send them to? I offer a great prize to the winner( not autherized to give any thing) #15 - Posted by: tom on November 25, 2006 08:51 PMSomeone explain this to me: Libs don't mind seeing westerners getting their heads cut off by crazed jihadists, but somehow a turkey giving up his life for WHAT HE WAS BRED TO DO is a problem? This place is becoming crazier by the day. Some traditions have become obsolete. Let 'em die. #16 - Posted by: Thor on November 27, 2006 10:50 PMPost a comment
