Another interesting note...back in the '70's, when I went to school in redneck central, Arkansas, there wasn't one vehicle in the parking lot without a full gun rack. We never had a single shooting incident, and if someone caried a gun on campus, it was usually for show and tell (the latest model). Of course, we got out our violent streak by blowing away every cute, furry animal on God's green earth.
The problem these days (surprise surprise) is a generation of Dr. Spock (to you youngsters, this wasn't the charactor from Star Trek; this was a quack that wrote the blueprint for the modern liberal parent who wants to be his kid's friend instead of the parent), overaged hippies (those who still think it's the late '60's) and the Hollywood Red Diper Doper Babies. I still remember when Hollywood glorified the police and the military...now movies and music (loosely termed; I don't consider gangsta rap as music) are all about the criminal.
