Is Obama Waste-ist?
Posted by RightWingDuck at 04:57 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (6)

Obama. Obama. Obama.

How we longed to see your well spoken, clean face on TV, telling us all the things we wanted to hear.

But did we excpect this?

Did we expect you to say THIS?

We ended up launching a war that should have never been authorized, and should have never been waged, and to which we now have spent $400 billion, and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted

I know what you're saying, Obama. This was a slip ot the tongue. That you're not waste-ist. That some of your best friends are in the military and any one of them will tell us that you never act that way.

Then you'll tell us that this was a botched statement. Of course this was not what you meant to say. What you meant to say was that you were criticizing the Bush Administration for having done an awful job with this war.

Of course you're not waste-ist.

So many young men and women have stepped forward to sacrifice everything and you support their cause. You admire them. Not in the way that says you'd ever invite one of THOSE people (Military Recruiters) to one of your elegant soirees, but in a way that says that by increasing the minimum wage we hope that poor people never have to enter the military again.

If we give them options, then "those people" would be able to create meaningful, productive lives in some minimum wage job.

Otherwise, they'd join the Army, go off to battle and die for their cause.

And that would be a waste.

Wouldn't it?

Andrew Sullivan wrote a nice article, and although the word "wry" is hackneyed, it is just, in The Weekly Standard comparing the two books of Obama. The first one, his thirtysomething memoir, and his second political one.

The first one, according to Ferguson, is one of the better memoirs of the genre, which were, not in his words, protological onanism. The second is crass political positioning. Ferguson says that we traded a writer for a politician and it's not a good trade.

A fair statement.

Still, look at the field. In 2000 I became puking sick of the Democrats over their blatant attempt to steal the Florida election, and I've no doubt that old man Daley is turning on a specially designed spit in hell because a DALEY couldn't steal an election. I wonder if JFK was basting him.

If I had Hillary and Obama in a room and a gun with one bullet, I'd shoot her and put the gun in his hand. Old joke but I like it.

And since Obama is a black guy, they'll find him guilty.

Uppity Negro!

How come no one on the right ever botches a joke?

When they do slip up its a huge deal...

but don't you know that as a black man, Barry can get shot just going into a room with Hillary Clinton? I'm not saying you should reconsider which one makes the most believable shooting victim, but just for your consideration.

Sorry. Brain-fart; I just thought of Hillary and that fried my brain. It's not Andrew Sullivan but Andrew Ferguson.

Although I can see Sullivan saying something in that price range, although he is not as--hackneyed word again--droll as Ferguson.

No doubt all here have seeen our wannabe Empress's announcement that she intends to enslave us. A rather interesting website has a good take on that; it's run by an escapee from the real commies, not the ones who learned it a Yale, and is worth a look.

The website is The People's Cube and there are some blindingly rude comments about leftists on it, and I confess to having dropped a few of them myself.
