What YouTube sees in Turkey...
Posted by RightWingDuck at 07:48 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (12)

Michelle Malkin shows us the true meaning of satire. YouTube has been banned in Turkey.

Read her post.

Michelle, this one's for you. This is what YouTube sees when they try to watch their videos while in Turkey.

Wow. Malkin almost would have been funny if only she had been accurate. Instead she is just showing how ignorant she is. The YouTube ban was about insulting the Turkish Republic founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and Turkishness not Islam as Malkin so dumbly writes. It is actually a crime to insult Turkishness in Turkey which is incredibly ridiculous but it isn't a ridiculous Islam thing just a ridiculous Turkey thing.

Speaking of turkeys...

Are you SURE you read the piece?

Here are the first few lines.

**

Well, this is an interesting twist. YouTube, known in these parts for banning those who insult Islam, is now being banned for carrying videos that INSULT TURKEY:

A court in Turkey on Wednesday ordered blockage of all access to YouTube, the popular video-sharing Web site, over a video DEEMED INSULTING TO MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATURK, the founder of modern Turkey.

*

Yes, it's about the insulting of Ataturk (brother of the overachieving Attaboy). The first few lines of the post talk about the bannig BY YouTube of all INSULTS TO ISLAM. YouTube removes any videos that are negative toward Islam in any way. it's funny to see YouTube banned. (No, not for insulting Islam. That is very clear from her post.)

Well, they're right, though: How can anyone of good conscience insult TURKEY?! Even if you don't finish it the first night, you can refrigerate it and make delicious sandwiches for a week. My wife also uses the carcass to make a yummy soup. Turkey salad at the tail-end, too. I can't imagine what kind of ingrate would not appreciate this.

I read it but it has changed since I wrote my comment. Malkin corrected her wording from banned for insulting Islam to include banned for insulting Turkey. Originally she didn't have the banned for insulting Turkey bit in her comments at all. She must have read my words and fixed it :-D Even so Michelle Misleading Malkin has still intentionally left the Islam ban comments in to make it an issue even though it isn't relevant to the YouTube ban story. If you really want to see bans for insulting Islam try Saudia Arabia, the home of some of George W. Bush's best pals, or Egypt. Egypt's "legal courts" love to go after bloggers that insult Islam.

Turkey is crazy about the national insults. They almost tossed Turkish nobel prize winner Orhan Pamuk in jail for disrespecting Turkishness last year.

You have to be very careful around Turkeys. As not to offend.
Any sudden moves and they’ll gobble… gobble… gobble… panic.

A very special punishment awaits those that offend the Turkeys.
It’s called death by a thousand peckers.

Peace Court? LOL. That's even funnier than banning videos!
