EATAPETA 2007
Yes, it's the day you've been waiting for: It's International Eat A Tasty Animal For PETA Day. Since Deskmerc takes Thursdays off now, I went to lunch with another carnivore looking to celebrate EATAPETA 2007. We ate at the same place Deskmerc and I ate last year... a hickory BBQ kind of place just down the street. Coworker has a half-pound burger, and I had chicken-fried steak. Yeah, I'm going to have to limit myself to a pound of crawdads tonight... but at least I'm getting exercise by walking to and from the restaurant, right? What animals are you eating today? If y'all have photos needed to be added to the gallery, send them to peta (at) isfullofcrap.com. 21 Responses To "EATAPETA 2007"
I thought maybe I'd kill & cook some rotissiere chinchillas. But not just for their fur; that'd just be cruel. #1 - Posted by: AlanABQ on March 15, 2007 01:52 PMI had some chili and a chicken sand for lunch. I almost went to Ted Turner's Montana Grill for some bison, but I just don't like that icehole. //I almost went to Ted Turner's Montana Grill for some bison,// mmmmm, bison sounds good. I might have to talk the hubby into Buffalo Wild Wings tonight, or Famous Daves, any place with barbeque would work and both places have Beef Pork and Chicken available. #3 - Posted by: shimauma on March 15, 2007 02:01 PMI went with four other carnivores to a local BBQ joint. I had the pulled pork. But we covered beef, chicken, and pig at our table. #4 - Posted by: wRitErsbLock on March 15, 2007 02:09 PMHmmm... interesting link that popped into the URL field in my previous comment. Alan: stay away from my three chinchillas. #5 - Posted by: wRitErsbLock on March 15, 2007 02:11 PMI ate a large portion of dead cow. With gravy. #6 - Posted by: spacemonkey on March 15, 2007 02:39 PMBACON!! Lots and lots of BACON!! #7 - Posted by: Roast Beast on March 15, 2007 02:43 PMFirehouse Subs. Italian sub, large, on wheat. #8 - Posted by: cirby on March 15, 2007 02:52 PMFor Lunch, I'm eating a Gyro stuffed to the gills with Lamb and beef... and for Dinner, a Prime Rib sub from Quizno's. Mmm Mmm Murder... I mean Tasty. Meat is murder, and murder is @#$%ing Delicious! #9 - Posted by: DesertElephant on March 15, 2007 03:03 PMBurned cow, via Jack-in-the-crack... Fries cooked in those eeeevil trans-fats Yum. Some kind of mystery meat loaf for lunch. Tonight it is rare steak and fried taters. It don't get no better than that. #11 - Posted by: allthatsright on March 15, 2007 04:04 PMa chicken, tomato, and bacon sandwich for lunch #12 - Posted by: Silicon Valley Jim on March 15, 2007 04:29 PMI had fajitas, AND they were the Thursday lunch special. Although there were some vegetable products involved, I asked them to cook with some lard-offsets and add a side of animal product (queso) to ensure a healthy sized beef-print. #13 - Posted by: ajabah on March 15, 2007 04:36 PMLunch photo submitted. I'm honored to take part in the festivities for such a worthy and auspicious Holiday. #14 - Posted by: DesertElephant on March 15, 2007 04:42 PMA bit of Shrimp and Cow product (yogurt) for lunch. There will be chicken enchiladas for supper. We will feed any leftovers to our pig, Porkchops, to fatten her up for a future feast. Yum. #15 - Posted by: Spyndrilleum on March 15, 2007 06:18 PMSo far I've only had turkey, ham, and roast beef, but then I haven't had dinner yet so I'll catch up by the end of the day. #16 - Posted by: Gunny on March 15, 2007 06:19 PMFor breakfast, myself and several co-workers went through the all you can fit on a plate buffet, and heaped as much bacon, sausage and beef patties possible, then gathered at a table next to the vegan hippies. You should have seen the look on their faces as we announced, "Thank you lord, for the caniverous feast we are about to enjoy...in honor of PETA!" Bleccchh! Mustard on a burger? Not even a decent brown mustard - looks like French's. How provincial. The mark of a rube.... #18 - Posted by: bunkerboy on March 15, 2007 10:19 PMI love how this day coincides with my birthday. I had two beef brisket sandwiches for lunch. Then I backed it up with some Thai fried rice with beef. For dinner, chicken curry. Mmm. Meat. #19 - Posted by: NMUSpidey on March 16, 2007 09:55 AMChihuahua. It's not just a state in Mexico. #20 - Posted by: Tommy the Towelhead on March 16, 2007 12:35 PMI'm making plans for buying half a cow's worth of beef! #21 - Posted by: ChrisA on March 21, 2007 10:39 PMPost a comment
