EATAPETA 2007
Posted by Laurence Simon at 01:42 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (21)

Yes, it's the day you've been waiting for: It's International Eat A Tasty Animal For PETA Day.

Since Deskmerc takes Thursdays off now, I went to lunch with another carnivore looking to celebrate EATAPETA 2007.

We ate at the same place Deskmerc and I ate last year... a hickory BBQ kind of place just down the street.

Coworker has a half-pound burger, and I had chicken-fried steak.

Yeah, I'm going to have to limit myself to a pound of crawdads tonight... but at least I'm getting exercise by walking to and from the restaurant, right?

What animals are you eating today?

If y'all have photos needed to be added to the gallery, send them to peta (at) isfullofcrap.com.

I thought maybe I'd kill & cook some rotissiere chinchillas. But not just for their fur; that'd just be cruel.

I had some chili and a chicken sand for lunch. I almost went to Ted Turner's Montana Grill for some bison, but I just don't like that icehole.

Dinner will be two tasty animals, one very cute. I going to have a ground lamb cheese-burger and some wild boar sausage.

//I almost went to Ted Turner's Montana Grill for some bison,//

mmmmm, bison sounds good. I might have to talk the hubby into Buffalo Wild Wings tonight, or Famous Daves, any place with barbeque would work and both places have Beef Pork and Chicken available.

I went with four other carnivores to a local BBQ joint. I had the pulled pork. But we covered beef, chicken, and pig at our table.

Hmmm... interesting link that popped into the URL field in my previous comment.

Alan: stay away from my three chinchillas.

Some kind of mystery meat loaf for lunch. Tonight it is rare steak and fried taters. It don't get no better than that.

a chicken, tomato, and bacon sandwich for lunch

I had fajitas, AND they were the Thursday lunch special. Although there were some vegetable products involved, I asked them to cook with some lard-offsets and add a side of animal product (queso) to ensure a healthy sized beef-print.

Lunch photo submitted. I'm honored to take part in the festivities for such a worthy and auspicious Holiday.

#14 - Posted by: DesertElephant on March 15, 2007 04:42 PM

A bit of Shrimp and Cow product (yogurt) for lunch. There will be chicken enchiladas for supper.

We will feed any leftovers to our pig, Porkchops, to fatten her up for a future feast. Yum.

So far I've only had turkey, ham, and roast beef, but then I haven't had dinner yet so I'll catch up by the end of the day.

For breakfast, myself and several co-workers went through the all you can fit on a plate buffet, and heaped as much bacon, sausage and beef patties possible, then gathered at a table next to the vegan hippies. You should have seen the look on their faces as we announced, "Thank you lord, for the caniverous feast we are about to enjoy...in honor of PETA!"
Lunch: foot long Roast Beef sandwitch, minus the "rabbit food".
Dinner: I'm headed up to the Res in an hour, where 20 carniverous injuns, Mexicans and half-breeds will be feasting on Buffalo and Elk steaks and fry bread.
Thanks for a wonderfully carniverous day, filthy hippie PETA scum!

Bleccchh! Mustard on a burger? Not even a decent brown mustard - looks like French's. How provincial. The mark of a rube....

I love how this day coincides with my birthday.

I had two beef brisket sandwiches for lunch. Then I backed it up with some Thai fried rice with beef. For dinner, chicken curry.

Mmm. Meat.

Chihuahua. It's not just a state in Mexico.

#20 - Posted by: Tommy the Towelhead on March 16, 2007 12:35 PM

I'm making plans for buying half a cow's worth of beef!
