American Idol Six - Top Eleven elimination night
Posted by sarahk at 10:04 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (10)

He is Ryan Seacrest. Did we listen to the judges? I hope not, because they loved Haley in hopes that we would not see her alligator tears. Instead we saw the plant Ashley's alligator tears. Now there's a recap.

Peter Noone is singing "There's a Kind of Hush". Now why don't they have cutesy songs like this anymore? Today it's all about "I wanna give you the good sex baby, uh huh."

The bad Ford commercial is "Another Saturday Night", and the kids are doing their laundry. They're using Surf with the label removed! I know, because I use Surf.

Hey look, Brad Garrett is sitting with the kids between The Glock and Chris Richardson.

Phil, Melinda, and Blake all stand up. None are in the bottom three.
Chris Sligh, LaKisha, Jordin stand up. They are not in the bottom three.
Sanjaya, Haley, and the Glock stand together, and that is crazy scary. The Glock with those two? Seacrest says they are not the bottom three.
Well, one of the above is in the bottom three, because I count nine, and there are only eleven. That's some fuzzy math, Seacrest.
Chris Richardson and Stephanie Edwards stand up and are the bottom two! I was so bad and didn't vote for anyone last night, so if Chris goes home, I feel sad and mad at me. Stephanie is not a big surprise.

American Idol for the Challenged: Which of Fantasia, Paris, and Vonzell has been recently cast in The Color Purple?

Now Ryan is giving a message to corporate America about the big charity event on April 24. Coca-Cola, the evil AT&T, and Ford are the big sponsors. Two out of three not bad.

Lulu is singing "To Sir with Love". I tell you, I thought she was awesome this week working with the chicas. She looks great tonight too. She's fantastic, I love her.

So... Stephanie and Chris. And Stephanie is going home. To the place where she belongs. Where love has always been enough for her. Ok, so I learned one more line of the song.

Obviously, she left too early. What can you do? America has lost their minds, and Sanjaya runs the mental institution.

Rating: 2.4/5 (7 votes cast)

I don't think she went too early at all, excepting that she outlasted Bad Chris (would that he had gone home instead) and Sanjaya. this wasn't far from where she should have gone.

I am overjoyed that Bad Chris' support isn't as strong as I had feared though.

Was it wrong of me that the first thought that ran through my mind during the charity drive was "how cheap of them"?

I mean they want to raise $3M, and mostly from viewer donations. Fox is probably netting more than that per episode. Heck Simon alone is pulling down $100M or so per year from the franchise and they want everyone to get all warm and fuzzy over them for COORDINATING a $3M to charity?

No thank you. I'll send my money to Samaritan's Purse, The Heifer Project or Doctor's Without Borders*. You know some group more interested in actually helping people than getting publicity brownie points.

*Preemptive strike, I know DWB's politics can lean empty headed liberal weenie, but you can't deny the courage and compassion of their volunteers or the genuine relief they bring to the suffering in the earth's true hell holes.

I was surprised it was Stephanie... because she still kicked Haley, Phil and Sanjaya's pinkytoe! Sanjaya is just creepy... he needs to go on the creepiness-factor alone. I mean, seriously, is anyone going to be excited to see Sanjaya singing in the AI Tour this summer? People are gonna throw tomatoes at him so he'll have to perform behind a plexiglass shield. LOL

I would have been much happier had pothead Chris gone home too, but Beyonce was reaching about the limit of her talents.

Lulu should have sung "Man With the Golden Gun." That would have been WAY cooler. Bond theme songs are about the only ones I break my usual genres to listen to (Lakisha singing "Diamonds are Forever? Sweet).

Stephanie and Chris should not have been at the bottom. Sanjaya should have gone first (even before Sundance). Someone needs to stop the teary-eyed junior high girls from voting. After Sanjaya, it should be Haley, then Phil, then Gina. If justice prevails, this will come down to Melinda and Jordan who are head and shoulders above the rest. However, I don't expect the voting to go that way. People are stupid.

I think it's ridiculous that Stephanie left and not Sanjaya! What was America thinking?

#7 - Posted by: Nightcrawler on March 22, 2007 12:12 PM

The only reason that Sanjaya is still there is because he is the one that www.votefortheworst.com is pimping to screw with the process. Once he's gone they'll move on to someone else. They were on the Kellie Pickler bandwagon until she got voted off last year (then switching to Taylor), and Scott Savol the year before.

P.J. I agree. I did not think that VFTW could really make a difference, but it is the only explanation for this travesty to continue. And please, for the love of all things sacred, please do not ever show that crying girl again. She weirds me out. If she becomes the AI poster child, I will stop watching. For real.

Sanjaya is really creeping me out too. His hair is different every week and I can't stand it when men have perfectly waxed eyebrows. Ew.
