IMAO as an Information Source
Posted by Frank J. at 01:41 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (35)

Over the weekend, the original facts I researched about Fred Thompson were the number ten Google hit for "Fred Thompson", thus putting me on the first results page. I'm now back down to number thirteen, though. Hopefully it will get back up there, because I like it that when people search for useful information they come to IMAO. It gets me a warm feeling inside and angry e-mails about how I wasted someone's time (and the angry e-mail is time well spent?).

What's an important fact you first learned from IMAO?

You can't trust a monkey with a gun.

#2 - Posted by: on June 11, 2007 02:31 PM

Glenn Reynolds blends puppies.

The Moon is our Enemy.

(how I could have never realized that before...)

#4 - Posted by: Challenger Grim on June 11, 2007 02:38 PM

I never knew (and nobody has yet to disprove) that blowing up the moon and/or one of our national parks is a sound military strategy if not a “doctrine” for National Security to convince both friend and foe alike that we are crazy enough not to be trifled with and that any one that isn’t one of us should immediately pay a tax because they aren’t one of us. Perfect logic to me and I was hooked on IMAO!

The best foreign policy is insanity.
Start bombing 24 hours later. "We meant one week at the most. Now be good or we'll send ground troops. You have one week."

I also learned that Aquaman is a frilly finned ninny.

Energy saving lights are the devil. I've replaced them all with bunsen burners.

#7 - Posted by: New fan on June 11, 2007 03:23 PM

I've learned the exact amount of gold it costs to hire a blind Samurai.

Seriously, three Ryo just for advice?

#8 - Posted by: HKpistole on June 11, 2007 03:36 PM

This was were I first heard of Zatochi.

#9 - Posted by: Jack12 on June 11, 2007 03:39 PM

I learned that goose-stepping wingnuts are afraid of giving up their technology and personal hygene for the sake of the environment.

Now excuse me, I gotta take a dump in the woods and wipe my backside with a pine cone before riding my recumbent bicycle to the Rage Against The Machine reunion...all for the sake of adhering to the wisdom of my all-knowing prophet Al Gore, whose very name scares the non-compact-fluorescently illuminated daylights out of all Bushies everywhere.

#10 - Posted by: Patchouli Monster on June 11, 2007 03:50 PM

wow, this IS a very useful site! so many people learn so many things here. i for one have learnt some things about my favorite-est pistol in the world (M1911).

i have also learnt that Spacemonkey is a clever hayseed with a sense of humor parallelling mine.

add to this that Frank J is a comic/smart-aleck near-genius. and Sarah K must be very long-suffering.

i love learning, keep up the good work!

#11 - Posted by: aA on June 11, 2007 04:20 PM

That Frank J. loves his Aquaman underoos.

#12 - Posted by: Writer on June 11, 2007 04:26 PM

I learned all kinds of fun stuff. But that doesn't matter. I'm sending an angry email for wasting my time.

#13 - Posted by: Rubeus on June 11, 2007 04:26 PM

I learned that I could blame all the dead hippies buried in my backyard on the Rumsfeld Strangler.

#14 - Posted by: Bob in Feenicks on June 11, 2007 05:18 PM

Through all of the comedic and satyrical stylings of the frequent posters, and our gracious hosts Frank J and SarahK, I have learned not to take life too seriously, you will never make it out alive anyway.

And who can live without the life-saving fun facts about Liberals and Terrorists.

#15 - Posted by: OldSkool on June 11, 2007 05:38 PM

The first bit of useful info I learned here? Dude, that was YEARS (and many many beers) ago. I've been reading here so long I may as well be able to post on the front page with Harvey and Sarahk and Aquaman!

Speaking of which, why is it that Aquaman gets a say and NMUSpidey doesn't? I even have imeccable grammar and great spelling!

#16 - Posted by: NMUSpidey on June 11, 2007 05:41 PM

Firefly. I didn't realize how cool Firefly was until I came here, nor how awesome Jayne Cobb was.

#17 - Posted by: shimauma on June 11, 2007 05:45 PM

something about brushfires.

I should mention my sister is working with him on a movie (Adam Baldwin, that is).

#19 - Posted by: Frank J. on June 11, 2007 06:03 PM

I learned that you're fingerprints are like snowflakes; they're both very pretty.

#20 - Posted by: AlanABQ on June 11, 2007 06:11 PM

Obviously, I've yet to learn correct punctuation. I did learn lots o' Simpson trivia (hence the above post).

I learned to be less outraged by liberal simians & ridicule them instead.

I learned to be more outraged by RINOs.

I learned that I bring nothing to the table.

I learned that Amanda Marcotte brought even less to Edward's table. I learned that nobody brings anything to Michael Moore's table for fear of being devoured themselves.

I learned that Michelle Malkin is in fact a woman & a minority. I also learned that discussing her too much here brings out SarahK's ire.

#21 - Posted by: AlanABQ on June 11, 2007 06:26 PM

I found out that Frank J. is not, in fact, the same Frank J. I know in real life.

#22 - Posted by: Basilisk on June 11, 2007 06:50 PM

I learned that Frank J didn't really get a really bad rash from a jellyfish or something on his Honeymoon.

IMSO?

#23 - Posted by: hwy93 on June 11, 2007 09:15 PM

For years I was sure that nothing could possibly be more ridiculous than MTV's The Real World, then I find out about cat blogging. Who knew?

#24 - Posted by: Son of Bob on June 11, 2007 10:08 PM

I just checked. As of 10:30 PM CDT, you're back up to #11.

#25 - Posted by: fosterdad on June 11, 2007 11:33 PM

This was actually the first blog that I ever read so my perspective has been warped from the beginning. The two things I've learned are that this is FrankJ's world and SarahK allows us to live in it; and I learned that fire may not melt steel but it does burn paint and would make a dandy border barrier.

#26 - Posted by: Moneyman on June 11, 2007 11:39 PM

I learned that Fred Thompson can know both the exact position and momentum of a particle. I knew my physics teachers were all liberal hippies.

#27 - Posted by: on June 12, 2007 07:39 AM

That my wife has absolutely no sense of humor at all. At least in regards to puerile humor.

#28 - Posted by: FormerHostage on June 12, 2007 11:45 AM

I should mention my sister is working with him on a movie (Adam Baldwin, that is).
Posted by: Frank J. on June 11, 2007 06:03 PM

SQQQUUEEEEAAAAL!!!! Rilly??? RILLY FOR REAL???

I'm just happy Adam Baldwin is in a new movie. That's another thing I learned at IMAO.

#29 - Posted by: shimauma on June 12, 2007 12:01 PM

I've learned that 10 out of 10 people die. And 11 out of 10 hippies do!

#30 - Posted by: on June 12, 2007 03:08 PM

I've learnded that IMAO is funnier when Laurence posts. Cats or not.

#31 - Posted by: DohXs on June 12, 2007 04:10 PM

I learned that the UN is a useless bunch of mustache-fearing criminals.

#32 - Posted by: Lily on June 12, 2007 07:17 PM

NEVER click on " more ". EVER.

#33 - Posted by: will.see on June 13, 2007 12:22 AM

think before you do

#34 - Posted by: Joey D on June 13, 2007 04:50 AM

I've learned that when confronted by a Monkey-faced Liberal, punching is always an option.

Though I've yet to figure out the difference between sarcasm and satire.
