Ron Paul Proposes That America Hide Under Giant Rock
GOP Presidential candidate Ron Paul spoke earlier today of the need for a stricter isolationist policy. "America needs to stop interfering with other countries. In fact, we need to stop interacting with any foreign nation. As long as America has made eye contact with any foreigner, we can hardly blame them to attack us on our own soil. Still, even if we were to finally cease all contact with other countries, the mere existence of America is provocative and could cause us to be invaded or attacked. Thus, I propose the most time-tested method of disengagement: Hiding under a rock. For complete security, America must hide its very existence. Of course, there is no rock on earth large enough for America to hide under, so, when I am President, I will fund the building of a Star Trek type tractor beam to pull the moon towards us and crash into America. I project half the country will be killed -- and they shall be mourned -- but the other half will finally be safe living under the giant rock that is the moon." Ron Paul concluded his speech by wearing his pants on his head while dancing a merry jig to the applause of the three supporters and eight mannequins in attendance. A recent Gallup poll found that 100% (+/- 0%) are against crashing the moon into America, but online polling has approval of Ron Paul's plan at 64%. 46 Responses To "Ron Paul Proposes That America Hide Under Giant Rock"
If we crashed the moon into the Earth, it'd be a lot easier to nuke. Maybe Ron's onto something. #1 - Posted by: Harvey on June 18, 2007 01:59 PMRon is not an isolationist, and you just sound ignorant when you say that he is. Ron Paul is advacating a non-intervention policy, which meanshe wants to stop patrolling the borders of Korea and start patrolling ours. He wants to stop depleting our military resources and start rebuilding our national defense.
I was going to call you an idiot, but maybe your just a bit misguided and misinformed. You link to an anti-UN T-shirt, yet you attack the only candidate on record that would get us out of the UN. You link to a pro-gun shirt you created, but then you attack the only candidate that is opposed to gun control. Half of your Google ads are pro Ron Paul, which is funny considering your anti-Paul stance. #3 - Posted by: jondo on June 18, 2007 02:38 PMWho IS Ron Paul? They still need to know!! Here is an interactive audio archive of http://www.ronpaulaudio.com #4 - Posted by: goldenequity on June 18, 2007 02:39 PMAlexia, isolationist: I don't think that word means what you think it does. #5 - Posted by: spacemonkey on June 18, 2007 02:43 PMJondo and Alexia, you maybe unaware of this but you have ventured into a political humor website. If you do not understand what political humor is or what humor is in general, you may not want to come here again. It will only confuse you more. #6 - Posted by: Dawnsblood on June 18, 2007 02:44 PMSee the problem there FrankJ? You wrote "Ron Paul" three times in the post. Ron Paul is still around? Why doesn't he just go home already? #9 - Posted by: Rubeus on June 18, 2007 02:46 PMThis is why it's always entertaining making fun of Ron Paul. Do these guys just scan every website or something? Ron Paul's followers are a much more fascinating subject than Ron Paul himself. #10 - Posted by: Frank J. on June 18, 2007 02:49 PMWhen you run a Ron Paul post, you need to at least have a poll available for them to spam. Thus sated, we won't have to put up with their drivel in the comments, giving us more room in which to make fun of Ron Paul. (Another benefit of the moon-crashing idea: Free cheese for everyone!!!) #11 - Posted by: Master Shake on June 18, 2007 03:06 PMWhat part of "peace, friendship and trade with all nations" did you not understand. Got no style...(ie can't quite get HTML tags/in training blogger.) Chronicles of Dubya...very funny! Love the comment above that Ron Paul bloggers are more interesting than Ron Paul. I disagree, but LOVE the comment. It is working. We don't care how people "get" Ron Paul..as long as they get him. RP agnostics...are tomorrow's RP voters once they get mass media deprogrammed. I like this site...I like cheese. #13 - Posted by: fonta on June 18, 2007 03:39 PMIf Ron Paul wants to prove he's fit to be CiC, he should face Aquaman and Rumsfeld in a deciding round of Jeopardy. #14 - Posted by: Boogs on June 18, 2007 03:43 PMSaddam got the overwhelming majority of his weapons and support from the USSR/Russia. What the US sold to him amounted to chump change. When and how did the US impose Saddam on the Iraqi people? The Baathists were hardly pro-western and they overthrew Gen. Qassim in 1963 who in turn had overthrown King Faisal II in 1958. Saddam slowly worked up the ranks and took over officially in 1979, although he had been the power behind the throne since at least 1973. Saddam didn't need anything from the US to take over Iraq and we weren't very happy with him when he oversaw the nationalization of Iraq's oil production facilities in 1972. #15 - Posted by: Fosterdad on June 18, 2007 03:56 PMFrank needs to do an IMW with Ron Paul in it. #16 - Posted by: Wacky Hermit on June 18, 2007 03:57 PMI forgot to ask - who is Ron Paul and why does anyone care what he thinks? ;) #17 - Posted by: Fosterdad on June 18, 2007 03:58 PMWell, the three Ron Paul supporters have come, we'll have to see if any mannequins decide to post here. I think a better way of doing this would be to pull the moon down on Mecca, then nuke the moon. Then two of our greatest enemies (terrorists and the moon) will be gone, with only commies/hippies left to go. #18 - Posted by: Joel on June 18, 2007 04:11 PMRon Paul concluded his speech by wearing his pants on his head while dancing a merry jig to the applause of the three supporters, eleven lifelike inflatable vinyl "females" and eight mannequins in attendance. Hmmm.... Ron Paul does want the USA to hide under a rock...that way everyone will be as "stoned" as he is! #20 - Posted by: Mikey on June 18, 2007 04:58 PMIsolation is a state of being that is a consequence of actions. The USA is more isolated now than it has ever been. This idea that the military power of this nation is going to make the world a better place is going to get us exterminated, not just more isolated than we already are. When you hear the Neo Con's decrying that Ron Paul would be putting this nation on a path to suicide perhaps it is they who are fearing (attracting) our suicide more than anyone else. But, because of their greed to make money from wars they don't realize they are betraying their country's best interest. What many people see in the Neo Con's as "strength" I actually see as cowardly. Bullies are cowards trying to pretend otherwise as convincingly as they can. What attracts myself, and many others, to the likes of Ron Paul is he stands courageously upon the principles of liberty and the greatest document that secures our liberties. Right now is a time where individuals are going to have to choose between liberty and life or cower in fear and betray liberty and then be deprived of property and life quickly thereafter. You guys still haven't realized you are on a political humor site, have you? #22 - Posted by: Boogs on June 18, 2007 05:45 PMSay Ron Paul's name three times while looking in a mirror and you will soon be getting lengthy newsletters in the mail. Just make sure you don't chant RuPaul. Scary stuff. #23 - Posted by: prestidigitator on June 18, 2007 05:45 PMthey must live at their PC's waiting for someone to comment on Paul. Same thing at other blogs. Say something about Ronnie and the comments....er essays pour in. #24 - Posted by: DixieKraut on June 18, 2007 05:53 PMDawnsblood, this site might very well be a political humor one, but some people take their Ron Pauls and Wolverines very seriously. #25 - Posted by: New fan on June 18, 2007 06:01 PMIf the cause of 9/11 was us having bases in Saudi Arabia, why didn't they fly planes into the bases in Saudi Arabia? #26 - Posted by: Harvey on June 18, 2007 06:07 PMWell, the three Ron Paul supporters have come, we'll have to see if any mannequins decide to post here. That would be Jason Wharton and Fosterdad. Five more to go, not counting the sockpuppets that will likely be showing up soon. #27 - Posted by: Basilisk on June 18, 2007 06:23 PMOh please. Such exageration for effect. There were litterally dozens of mannequins, and most of the (more than three) seven RP real supporters brought their two favorite Inflatable Babes. So that's about 300,000 mannequins, 700,000 real life supporters and 1.4 million Blow Up Barbies. Grand total 6.9 billion people. Over 100% of the population of the planet of Earth support RP! So get a life! #28 - Posted by: on June 18, 2007 06:46 PM^^Love the math :D #29 - Posted by: Joel on June 18, 2007 07:58 PMJason Wharton – eloquent post, but still off base. Is it time for an IMOA poll? I don’t have the HTML skills to set it up but something along the lines of: Which person or country exemplifies, by isolationistic national policy, the least offensive and cause for retaliation from asshats of the world; Ron Paul, Liechtenstein, Fred Thompson, Switzerland,Neville Chamberlain, or the Duchy of Grand Fenwick? Some people who have not been seen before seem to be making their presence know. Welcome to a site that is satirical, humorous, and informative. Can there be a new label for some of these posters? P-trolls, comes to mind. #30 - Posted by: Phobos on June 18, 2007 09:06 PMRon Paul would have given up freakin' Korea. The guy openly said so in the last debate. To say he's not an isolationist is to rob the word of any meaning. With the Soviet Union dead and gone, it's fun to hypothesize about stuff like this but it's doubtful he would have won the Cold War much less this one. Okay, so we don’t have the Iranians hating us . . . instead, we have a gigantic communist empire that marches across the globe without us doing anything to oppose it. Great plan. The lack of enemies does not mean the abundance of friends, and once we’re finished sitting on our asses as everybody else gets taken over by dictatorships, we would only face a more powerful enemy with few friends left to help us when they finally came after us. Using his reasoning, I don’t see how you even argue that we right in helping Britain prior to us entering World War II. Well you know...the Japanese never would have attacked Pearl Harbor if we hadn't insulted their sushi. It's all the fault of the U.S. for getting involved in the restaurant business. NO BLOOD FOR RAW FISH AND RICE! #35 - Posted by: Basilisk on June 18, 2007 11:14 PMand pearls . . . our imperialist intervention in the Pacific and conquest of Hawaii's pearl market met its inevitable blowback. We should have just pulled out of Hawaii. #36 - Posted by: WAL on June 18, 2007 11:33 PMHAHAHAHAHAHAH.... wait, you're not funny at all. #37 - Posted by: greg mania on June 18, 2007 11:58 PMNo - you're not funny! #38 - Posted by: WAL on June 19, 2007 12:26 AMYou tell 'em, WAL! And I have a certificate saying for a fact I'm funny. #39 - Posted by: Frank J. on June 19, 2007 12:29 AM"What he does not want is for us to overthrow elected governments and intall dictators as we did in Iran in 1953 (the blowback from that was the taking of the embassy hostages in 1979.) Who is for any of those things? I don't think Ron Paul is unique here. And he sucks at everything having to do with right now. Well you see greg, it's mandatory to have a sense of humour to get this whole satire thing. And I'm afraid that the requirement for being a Ron Paul crazy supporter is that you must be born without one. #41 - Posted by: Basilisk on June 19, 2007 01:58 AMBasilisk, I think this post is parody not satire. Michael Wagner, "We need to listen to the wisdom of the Founders" this part I agree with, but the boundless nuttiness put forth by Ron Paul (and supporters)is not the way to go about it. #43 - Posted by: on June 19, 2007 04:37 PMFreemasons! Its the damn Freemasons, I tell you. And the Trilateral Commission. And the Federal Reserve. Quick, back under the rock. Ron will save us. #44 - Posted by: Steve in N.O. on June 19, 2007 05:04 PMTwo Words for you Wagener: Suck It! #45 - Posted by: DesertElephant on June 20, 2007 12:08 PMThis site might actually succeed at humoring me if there was actually some wit and intelligence expressed. What I see here is mostly the feeble attempt of weak minds to claim the prize of humoring a human mind when in reality they are purchasing fleeting attention by cashing in what little virtue they have left or virtue they stole from an innocent child. #46 - Posted by: Jason Wharton on June 23, 2007 08:29 PMPost a comment
