Amazingly for being the "new Thomas Jefferson", Ron Paul is still less popular than a Congress full of comment spamming personal injury lawyers spreading genital warts.

Though still behind, I hear that castration with a rusty soup can lid is .01% away from topping Congress.

this really makes me think of that Monty Python song, "All Things Dull and Ugly" ... it pretty much sums up the Dems.

1) Because it's received lousy reviews even from conservative blogs.

2) The sketches I've seen so far are slow-paced, poorly scripted, and predictable.

The good news is that Congress is still slightly more popular than Caligula, Ron Paul or being held down screaming while your face is peeled off.

I gotta agree, with the exception of a couple of good one liners (not good enough for me to remember, apparently), the 1/2 hour news hour was pretty uninspiring

I couldn't help but notice that cat blogging was not listed as being more popular than Congress.

Funny thing with HHNH is that it *is* just barely worse than congressional approval ratings: 12% Metacritic score vs 14% for Congress. Of course, the Metacritic score is a bit off, since some of the reviews don't give a score at all yet are counted as 0% (which of course brings the percentage way down). Still, I do not hear good things.

The clip about "Gun Free Zones" from earlier this week was pretty good, though -- maybe they're improving?

I do believe Caligula, Tiberius, Nero, and even Heliogabolus all hovered between 15 and 17% approval at their lowest points, thus beating out Congress in popularity.

Actually, Nero was considered something of a populist, and loved spending for the amusement of the people, all the while harming the poor (burning down the poorest sections of Rome as a prime example thereof), alternately blaming it on his political enemies and claiming it was for their own good because the slums were dirty. At least that's how Peter Ustinov portrayed it in Quo Vadis!
