Serious Times, Silly People
Posted by Frank J. at 11:35 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (24)

Here's yet another recommended diary at the Daily Kos where one of the Kwazy Kos Kids is warning of the impending dictatorship and how they must do something to stop it. Let's take it as a fact that they honestly believe in their hearts that they're the only ones who see the end of America coming and know they must take action, then what exactly do these hysterical ninnies think they can do to stop a dictatorship? Are they going to attack it with the combined might of their impotence? Overpower it with their rank odor? Whine and shriek until it surrenders?

I had a friend in college who did live action role playing games. That's where they would run around the city play acting that they were vampires. He was very earnest in explaining it to me and my roommate which is why it was so entertaining to make fun of him. Anyway, DailyKos is a bit like a live action role playing game where the Kwazy Kos Kids live in a fantasy world of danger and intrigue and they pretend they're doing stuff about it. The difference is that the Democrats don't pretend to care about the interests of people pretending to be vampires nor kowtow to their demands in the hope of good vampire press and donation money.

I like the role playing analogy. It's so apt, but I never thought of it that way.
Living in sort of a parallel universe. Why it's almost tempting to live in a fantasy world.

Sorry, haven't had my first cup of coffee yet.

Um... Did you read the comments on that diary? i thought the whole "tinfoil hat" thing was just a joke. Turns out there are tons of comments giving serious instructions on how to protect yourself at a rally from a secret microwave weapon using... TINFOIL!!! Someone also posits that you might be able to reflect or redirect the beams back at the sender using a child's saucer-sled, but be careful not to aim at teargas canisters as they may spark or explode!!! i cannot comment further without explatives.

Almost off-topic, but I need some help... I'm at the disadvantage of only getting a couple of years through a state university, so I'm not sure how to pronounce "Kos"

Is it like "cause", or is it a long "o" like "cozy", or is it more like shorthand for "cossack?" I guess it could be "K-O-s" as in "knockouts" but most of them really aren't very good looking so I doubt it.

Please edumacate me.

#4 - Posted by: innominatus on July 20, 2007 12:30 PM

It's pronounced "Throat Warbler Mangrove."

#5 - Posted by: PaleoMedic on July 20, 2007 12:42 PM

Heh. Nice Paleo.

The owner of the site, the Anti-FrankJ, is MarKOS Moulistas Zuniga. The funny thing is, he's an immigrant that moved here because we rock, yet he leads the fight to destroy us. In his own mind that is.

#6 - Posted by: DesertElephant on July 20, 2007 12:45 PM

LOL, some of those comments were hilarious... and YES, the tin foil brigade showed themselves for this one... AWESOME!!

#7 - Posted by: Amer-I-Can on July 20, 2007 12:47 PM

It is a short "o" as in cossack, notable for the fact that character-wise these weenies are the exact opposites; Cossacks known as the fierce horesemen of the steppe, whilst Kos kids are the frail, shrill defenders of their parents basement.

Kos kids sound (and believe themselves) quite menacing when encountered in a cyber chat. When encountered in person they are very susceptible to a harsh head tousling while you kick them in the pants to send them on their way (usually they retreat to a subterranean lair, aka mom's walkout). Actually, if you look up "wussy" in the dictionary...........

The sad thing is when Dubya actually does leave office, they'll think they succeeded in saving the free world with their whiny rants. In fact, if the winner is a Republican he should ask
George to stay in a couple of months longer just to scare the heebees out of the leftards and make them realize how impotent they really are(if that's even possible).

George could do interviews from the Oval office, grinning at the TV saying "Look ya'll, I'm sittin' here and there's not a damn thing ya'll can do about it."

#9 - Posted by: shimauma on July 20, 2007 12:59 PM

Why haven't the Kos Kids already been made into a hilarious cartoon series? It would be easy to do, as you wouldn't have to actually come up with any ridiculously funny dialog - they do that for ya.

Kos Kids to the rescue!!

shimauma,

i think the think that ticks me off most is that they'll think they caused W to leave office, not because it's the end of his two terms, but because of their moonbattery. This ticks my wife (who's a democrat, gasp!) off even more because it makes her party look like idiots.

#11 - Posted by: Matty G on July 20, 2007 01:41 PM

...sorry, but I'm still laughing about "combined might of their impotence"...

And here all the time I thought it was pronounced chaos

Liberals always want to change the world. They just don't want to inconvenience themselves in the process. They would rather dictate that "other people" pay the taxes, produce less carbon, and pay for health care.

My favorite question to ask someone complaining about tax cuts is:

"How much extra did you send to the IRS this year over and above what you owed?"

Shuts them right up.

I listened to an "economist" this morning on NPR blathering on about how business just can't afford to pay for health care any more. He was pushing the conclusion that socialized medicine was the only option. (Of course he didn't elaborate on how health care would get paid for in a socialized system)

I laughed my butt off at the commercials run on Directv for the Live Earth concert. "We are going to make some noise and save the planet!" was the tagline. Not so surprisingly, they didn't elaborate on how making music helps the planet.

Wait a minute... the writer who wrote this thinks that those of us who believe in the Second Amendment (we would be the illegal militias in the United states, right?) will band together with them to save their hippie butts? I mean, heck, we're all just patriotic Americans in this "fight" together...

Ha, ha, ha ha! "Pass me up another clip, dear. I only winged the last one."

#14 - Posted by: khart208 on July 20, 2007 02:07 PM

Liberals like the KOS Kids have been wrong about everything for the last 60 years but they keep coming back for more...we need to keep punching them in their dumb monkey faces! Unfortunately we have no conservative leaders right now punching them in the public domain!

#15 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on July 20, 2007 02:36 PM

Guess what, if a dictatorship does pop up, there will luckily be enough people with lots of guns, like me and FrankJ that will arm ourselves and our fellow citizens (even the dumb ones that did not have the foresight to build a proper arsenal) and take care of it. Hence the second amendment. That is unless Kos gets their way on gun control first, then I guess we will have to live with whatever dictator the Lord provides. The irony is causing rust spots in my boxers.

#16 - Posted by: Ty on July 20, 2007 05:05 PM

When I read this, all I could think is...that is just...so...sad.
But like Ty and FrankJ, I have plenty o' armaments to sail through any dictator related problems.

#17 - Posted by: neocon cowgirl on July 20, 2007 05:50 PM

Kos Kid #1: Boy I hate this dictatorship.

Kos Kid #2: Me too. We should take to the streets.

#1: Great idea! Peaceful protest is always successful.

#2: ...and fun!

#1: I'll bring the chips. You call Fern. she makes great brownies.

#2: Oh, and Dustin has a great bushhitler effigy that might work.

#1: Super awesome! I know this will work this time!

#2: Squeeeeeee!

#18 - Posted by: PaleoMedic on July 20, 2007 05:58 PM

"Flee! He has a board with a nail in it!"

Who needs the Second Amendment?

#19 - Posted by: Litassistant on July 20, 2007 10:30 PM

Not so surprisingly, they didn't elaborate on how making music helps the planet.

Oh that is just their version of Screaming to Baal at noonday. Maybe they if they cut themselves they'll get a response?

#20 - Posted by: shimauma on July 20, 2007 11:06 PM

That is without a doubt my FAVORITE Old Testament account. The whole "My God can beat your God" is especially appropriate since Libs are their own Gods. Hence "Our God" will burn up the wood, the water, the stone and the priests. --- Awesome.

A couple of years ago my grandfather (who has alzheimers) said: I just can't wait until the kkk steps in and sorts everything out for us. My husband and I are clutching our sides at the similarity between this comment and my grandpa's feelings:

"I thought about martial law the other day and I never thought I would actually hope illegal militias in the United States would be our final hope against a real dictatorship - that Americans will rise up with arms against a dictatorial government.

But I fear even that hope is farfetched."

Course, my grandpa has already been diagnosed...

Hold on. You knew a guy who ran around town "playing vampire"? What the hell stopped you from bitch-slapping the ninny into the world of tomorrow?

Good Lord! The delusional paranoia is just astounding... Ol' Cheney's gotta be getting a good chuckle out of it all.
