Fear the Lame Duck
With President Bush's approval rating, he should be a lame duck right now, yet he keep having successes against the Democratic Congress. Even though the nutroots were all freaking out about a bill giving him expanding wiretapping powers for the War on Terror, the Democrats still caved and gave Bush what he wants. You see, while Bush currently has a 24% approval rating on Iraq, the Congress has 3%. I didn't even think it was possible to do so bad as to get only 3% approval. So while President Bush may be a lame duck, the Democrats in Congress are a crippled goose sitting at the bank of the pond that Bush can go peck the crap out of whenever he feels like it. We have ourselves a mighty government. 18 Responses To "Fear the Lame Duck"
More evidence that are government is full of loons. #1 - Posted by: Dr. Phat Tony on August 6, 2007 11:11 AMUnfortunately, the probable reason the DefeatoCrats went so quietly into the night is most probably something sinister. They hope to gain full power in 2008. And armed with Expanded FISA, the potential for Socialist abuses abounds. Which is why a Dhimmi must never reach 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue... Except maybe to receive an ass whooping by Fred! when they get there. #2 - Posted by: DesertElephant on August 6, 2007 11:27 AMWell of course, Bush's approval rating is 8 times higher then congresses, obviously he is way more in touch with the American public so congress will do what he says. #3 - Posted by: AR on August 6, 2007 11:41 AMThe puppy-blender put it perfectly. It is like the Special Olympics of politics. 100% of IMAO readers approve of my job as Secretary of Yummy Candy. #5 - Posted by: Ringmaster on August 6, 2007 12:05 PMThe whole government sucks. Bush sucks. Congress sucks. The Democrats suck. Our bridges suck. Iraq sucks. Frony sucks. Obomba sucks. Even Ron Paul sucks - he's only popular on YouTube. Plz don't change my name to gigantic tool peep anymore kind Frank J. person. I am sorry for being mean. I will try and be nicer even when i disagree with u and the other IMAOerz. We must be good to each other and focus on finding the best ways to kill terrorists, fix bridges and stop global warming while laughing the whole time. #6 - Posted by: Annoying Goober on August 6, 2007 12:07 PMIf Obama is elected president, will we have to fear the Malt Duck? #7 - Posted by: Ron Rockstar on August 6, 2007 12:16 PMThere's some article on the web about why conservatives are so depressed. I read it this morning ! Now I can't remember. Depressing. Lame ducks are depressing also. #8 - Posted by: Jimmy on August 6, 2007 12:25 PMSarcasm man, he did comply with the letter of your request if not the general spirit of it. I still stand by when I say our regular trolls are THE best trolls. Including you sarcasm man. You complete us. #10 - Posted by: spacemonkey on August 6, 2007 12:31 PMcrippled goose? I would say quintuple amputeed ostrich. They have just enough mobility to put their head in the sand. #11 - Posted by: spacemonkey on August 6, 2007 12:34 PMIsn't 3% within the margin of error? So couldn't it actually be that 0% support the way congress is handling it? Ah, but if you look, this was a magic poll. They actually changed the margin of error to +/- 1% so that it couldn't reach 0%. But yes, typically that would be within the margin of error. #13 - Posted by: NeoconNews on August 6, 2007 05:33 PM"crippled goose? I would say quintuple amputeed ostrich." As a tall, long-necked amputee, I am severely offended at having a Dhimmicrat even peripherally compared to my people. I'd protest Amputee Power, but I can't hold the bullhorn and picket sign at the same time. #14 - Posted by: DesertElephant on August 6, 2007 05:53 PMWhen I took economics in college the "teacher" told us that full employment was 4% because a certain amount of the population would not work. This was 1973! So if you take that 4% and assume that they all support the current democRATic congress, along with a few whackos, criminally insane, morally bankrupt, pedophiles, state and local representatives, and members of the press...I think we have accounted for the 3%! #15 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on August 6, 2007 05:55 PMThe only reason to be behind Pelosi is no-one can stomach being in front of her. Get behind Reid and that thin wisp of a man is invisible. As for the GOP they have so bungled their majority ....... awwww never mind. They all do suck. #16 - Posted by: DohXs on August 6, 2007 06:02 PMLet's keep in mind, being a democrat is all about defeat, even if it's defeat at the hands of Bush. #17 - Posted by: Kent on August 6, 2007 10:49 PMWho are the 3% that approve of the Congressional shenanigans? Congress itself, it gets them face time on the networks? Post a comment
