Inconvenient Data Adjustment
So, apparently a lot of the data people used to "prove" global warming is complete crap. I already knew the "science" based on the data was crap, but apparently the data used for it was wrong even on their own crap standards. So, 1934 was the warmest year for the past century... however it is someone determines the average temperature for a year. But don't let that stop us from panicking and overthrowing our economies. 15 Responses To "Inconvenient Data Adjustment"
Not only that, Frank, but a great deal of real science links the current warming period to the SUN. If you're into detail go here: Thanks for putting this article up. #1 - Posted by: Jimmy on August 9, 2007 08:01 PMNever in history has the sun ever heated the earth. -Rosie O'Donnell (another candidate for orbital nuking) #2 - Posted by: Bob in Feenicks on August 9, 2007 08:10 PMOh, Bob! Indeed, Houston, she HAS ENOUGH MASS for the self-induced, mass driver experiment in low Earth orbit. Wouldn't THAT be glorious?! Frozen Rosie pellets fired at 20 km / second. #3 - Posted by: Jimmy on August 9, 2007 08:24 PMI'm still waiting for the impending ICE AGE trumpeted by those fools from NEWSWEEK back in the 1970's. Oh- wait. I forgot. GLOBAL WARMING will cause the next ice age. I just have to wait a few thousand years. Silly me. #4 - Posted by: Bile, Snark, and Sneer on August 9, 2007 08:38 PMFrank, off topic, but I'm still trying to figure out if I've been banned or not [Why would you think you're banned? -Ed.] #5 - Posted by: WAL on August 9, 2007 08:50 PMDidn't you know? Global warming will cause massive droughts, massive floods, scorching temperatures, and the worst ice age the world has ever seen, all at once! There's no way that could possibly be untrue in the least! #6 - Posted by: Hazel on August 9, 2007 09:10 PM[Why would you think you're banned? -Ed.] I got "forbidden" when I try to post at work now. I guess the office internet gestapo finally got pissed at me. #7 - Posted by: WAL on August 9, 2007 09:58 PMI have looked into the future, with my magic, and I foretell that there will be a MASSIVE COOLING within 90 DAYS! There will be snow and freezing rain, misery unforetold. I just need $100 million to further study this phenonmenon. Can we get a petition going? A NEW ICE AGE IS COMING! HARKEN UNTO ME! #8 - Posted by: Fiftycal on August 9, 2007 10:12 PMWhaddaya mean NASA's numbers are off? I got a big documentary coming out! Half of Hollywood's coming to the premier! Ahh, man! I gotta call my agent. Morty - Morty, you there? Quick - call James Cameron. See if he's willing to do "Titanic II". Yeah, I KNOW the boat sank... #9 - Posted by: Reotardo DiCrappio on August 9, 2007 10:20 PMThe company I work for's firewall used to give that error before it got, ahem, modified, by, ahem, someone. The IT gestapo got you, not us. We WANT you to read IMAO at work. #10 - Posted by: spacemonkey on August 10, 2007 12:15 AMCareful now, Flying SM... the reality might set in somewhere. Can't have that, you know. Think of the headlines! "Gore Stupid Again: Whatcha Gonna Do Now, Follow Oprah?" #11 - Posted by: AlanABQ on August 10, 2007 05:24 AMGreat Depressions cause global warming! Great....and I taught myself to knit too....now what do I do with all these scarves?! #13 - Posted by: CCHEMuse on August 10, 2007 08:50 AMFiftycal just made my morning. The weathermen...er weatherpersons... here on the north coast can't tell us what it'll be like in a week, much less in 100 years. How delusional do you have to be to think that you can not only predict what it'll be like, but to do so to tenths of a degree!!! Michael Crighton's "State of Fear" is a great read on global warming. For the last two years, the NOAA has predicted record hurricanes due to global warming and they've been way off. I blame Bush. Ever since Gavin married Gwen Stefani, they just haven't been the same. #14 - Posted by: Matty G on August 10, 2007 09:58 AMFunny headline Frank. This was just for U.S. temps and makes little impact on the overall global picture which still shows a warming planet. The U.S. really hasn't seen nearly as much impact form global warming as the rest of the world. Europe and the third world countries have seen much more dramatic changes - heat waves, floord, forest fires, etc. Our luck won't hold out for much longer. The greenhouse gas model is pretty sound and wasn't even really debated until the oil and gas companies saw it as a threat and started funding research against it. But even if you think man-made global warming is total liberal lunancy there is still a need to reduce these emissions because they have also been linked to cancer, heart disease, asthma, etc. We should reduce emissions with tax breaks to companies that come up with new technologies and not by taxing individuals. If done correctly these new green technologies may even free people from having to rely so much on utility companies and the big oil and gas giants. Freedom is a great thing. So there is some excitement here in new technologies that is not "Al Gore is great we must do what he says." There is also the benefit of reducing emissions has on the War on Terror. If we find alternative energies we won't have to rely as much as companies like Saudi Arabia who fund terror - i think Frony said something about this somewhere recently. What I'm trying to say is we can go green and be in favor of green ideas and technologies without it being Al's idea or the far left's idea. There is an opportunity here for Republicans to steal this great concept and movement back for their party before they lose it forever. Here's what Frony had to say: WALLACE: One area where you have been critical of President Bush is that you say that he never spread the burden, he never made all Americans share in the sacrifice. And you have talked about the fact that we need to end our dependence on foreign oil. Would you impose a gas tax to push us in that direction? THOMPSON: Well, you're getting a little bit further down in the weeds than I want to go right now. I don't know. I'm studying it. I don't know the answer to that question. We're going to have to do some things differently. We're going to have to think differently about solutions. You know, it's a price matter more than anything else. You know, gas is - I mean, oil is fungible. And there's going to be oil in different parts of the world having a price set, you know, that we're going to have to live with one way or another. We can't ever be totally independent of it, but we can do some things to make it a lot better. We're going to have to look at fuel emission standards and things of that nature, things that we don't like to look at. And things have got to be on the table, because we can't keep funding a part of the world that's causing us so much problems. #15 - Posted by: Sarcasm Man on August 10, 2007 02:02 PMPost a comment
