Fred "Goober" Thompson is proof that a high School diploma from Alabama is equivalent to a well rounded, intensive 3rd grade education in the rest of the country.

That's why Fred "Goober" Thompson spells it "whup'n." He also says "crik" meaning a small stream and "far" when he means rapid oxidation of a combustible material.

Fred Thompson needs to open a can of WupAss for WP...

#2 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on August 25, 2007 12:08 PM

It may be, though, that Creative English is not taught anymore in schools because they've decided they have their hands full teaching regular literacy. Why they still have to do this through high school is a question for all the enlightened folks out there.WP.

Socrates' comprehensive education plan: apply corporal incentive in inverse proportion to the ratio of achievement to potential ... to the parents.

#4 - Posted by: Socrates on August 25, 2007 01:47 PM

Goober didn't have time for school. He got the rich girl in town in a maternal condition when he was 16 (Alabama, right?). A shotgun wedding soon followed. A job with dear old father-in-laws firm was offered and Goober has been stumbling along ever since.

#5 - Posted by: WB on August 25, 2007 01:59 PM

Thanks for the insight WB, but apparently you're a fan of either Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore or Ron Paul...or several of the aforementioned. In which case, you may not want to start a contest to determine who's the biggest "goober".

#6 - Posted by: Son of Bob on August 25, 2007 02:15 PM

My guess is a Paul-bot. If he was a Kos-sucker, he would be calling us teh ghey and/or swearing a lot.

#7 - Posted by: Master Shake on August 25, 2007 03:13 PM

SOB, that would be no. The above mentioned are posuers just like Goober Fred. Acting on TV and reading lines someone else wrote only impresses idiots. He is a fake, as in not real, as in smoke.

I want someone who can beat the Clinton(s)/Obama ticket that is comming and Goober "ain't" the one. Give me Rudy, a REAL mean, a REAL tough bad boy with room for everyone (almost) in the tent. He can beat the Demo ticket. Goober can't, he's a sure looser and will ensure a demo win.

PS
It's no contest, Fred wins. He is the Goober poster boy.

#8 - Posted by: WB on August 25, 2007 03:25 PM

Actually WB, no one I know wants everyone in the tent. And, anyone who allows "everyone (almost)" in the tent probably stands for nothing - hardly a real man.

I just want conservatives in the tent, who keep the Federal government out of everyone's way - and everyone else can stay in their own damn tent with their self-serving social issues.

Incidentally, Fred's already beating Rudy in polls before he's even officially announced his presidency.

#9 - Posted by: Son of Bob on August 25, 2007 03:35 PM

I agree with Son of Bob. Conservatives only in the tent. Whackos, dick heads and kos-suckers are welcome to join the Clinton/Obama tent. Fred will be for small government, enforcement of gun rights and judicial restraint. Rudy is a LIBERAL pussy who hates guns and loves abortion...he can be Hillary's AG...

Hi,

In regard to Fred Thompson I would never support any member running for office who is a member of the CFR.

To add Fred Thompson could not offer an answer to my question in a recent Thompson gathering about the relase of hte IMF's report to devalue the dollar by 20%.

Mr. Thompson refused to answer the question and moved to someone else.

Please take the time to understand what the CFR is... They are nothing more then a think tank who desires to undermine our nation.

[I have no clue about anything you're talking about. Could that be why he didn't answer? -Ed.]

#12 - Posted by: Darel99 on August 25, 2007 08:13 PM

CFR? Do you mean:
1. The Community of the Franciscans of the Renewal
2. CFR Cluj (Romanian "football" (i.e., soccer) club of the city of Cluj-Napoca)
3. Code of Federal Regulations
4. CFR Corporation (carpet-cleaning branch of Tacony Company)

I gotta say...those Franciscans can be quite nefarious indeed. Thanks for warning us about this grey-robed menace.

(And, finally, in the right comment thread.)

Fred Thompson's comprehensive education plan: Be smart or get a whup'n.

Actually, he means the teachers. In the State of Washington, about 40% of them couldn't pass the same test given to high school seniors: The WASL (Washington Assessment of Student Learning). Sad, but true, folks.

#14 - Posted by: Jimmy on August 25, 2007 10:29 PM

The Goober Thompson tent (unlike his man-boobs) is too small to win. You need more than just conservatives OR liberals to win. You need to attract moderates. Even Goober was a pro-choice moderate, but flip-flopped ala Kerry on that one.

All the Republican candidates have some baggage (Gobber Freds are obvious under his shirt). He still has not taken his toe out of the water. Goober is so dim witted he can't decide if the waters too cold or not. Jump in or step back, lead the way or get the hell out of the way you rube.

Rudy..he's da man. Not a fake TV stooge, ex-lobbyist dim wit. (And still leads in the polls.)

#15 - Posted by: WB on August 25, 2007 11:17 PM

Let's see. We've got a WP and a WB here. I wonder if they're the same "goober spammer?" WP looks to be more creative. Sorry WB, you take second. :-(

#16 - Posted by: Jimmy on August 25, 2007 11:32 PM

Although, Socrates, you could consider parents and teachers to be the same group. I think the parents are smarter here, on average, however. I once read that the average IQ in this state is 114. Could Microsoft and Boeing have anything to do with that? Certainly not Microsoft! (dissss)

#17 - Posted by: Jimmy on August 25, 2007 11:43 PM

I'm just glad the "WP" above is not the WP I know online. This WP (whom I know) has a very distinctive style of writing. Thankfully, the WP I know is very devoted to conservatism.

#18 - Posted by: Muslihoon on August 26, 2007 12:29 AM

See, Darel99 is a Ron Paul nutjob. You can tell from the distinctive sense of schizophrenic paranoia that haunts all the Ron Paul people, the tell-tale froth that surrounds the mouth, and eternal "I'm gonna root for the craziest candidate till he loses" devil-may-care attitude. Clearly a RP nut; would bet my bottom dollar hes posting from his Grandma's basement, wearing his official "RP for Prez" tinfoil hat as we speak.

Wait...Darel, do u hear that? I think the black helicopters are coming...

#19 - Posted by: G8r on August 26, 2007 08:12 AM

Sorry Jimmy, the WP was a mistake, error, typo, bad digital control. One in the same. I will try and exersize better control. I will also tone down the "Goober Spammer" message.

The far right can't survive without us non-religious conservatives, a few pro-choice people thrown in (now the majority in our fair country) and a platform somewhere right of center , not over the edge right, just right.

It's difficult for the moderate to identify lately with conservatives. Especially with GHW's retarded son so at odds with fiscal responsibility and any type of leadership ability.

PS. Fred's a Goober, Goober, Goober.

#20 - Posted by: WB on August 26, 2007 10:56 AM

Well, WB, glad to see it was you after all. You know, I think there ARE a lot of non-religious conservates out there, both pro-life and pro-choice who think that Roe v. Wade was bad law and that it's a state's matter. That's Thompson's position as far as I know.

Now about that "Goober" think you do....

#21 - Posted by: Jimmy on August 26, 2007 11:09 AM

There are some excellent examples of public education in the comments listed here. I guess I'm just a conservative, business owning, white, taxpaying, Ron Paul nut job. Why is it that what passes for conservatism these days looks more like a police state? Lets break this down for the little people shall we........Big Government, entitlement programs, Federal Reserve (fiat currency), CFR backed (thats council on foreign relations for the public school educated), and U.N. supporter:

Rudy, McCain, F. Thompson, Romney, Hillary, Obama

Strictly follows the Constitution, wants to end the illegal Federal Reserve System, wants to abolish the IRS, wants out of NAFTA CAFTA UN, wants to actually secure the border using National Guard troops, wants out of entangling alliances, and for a immensely smaller Federal Government:

Ron Paul

Some say I'm wasting my vote, maybe I am. But I will never again vote for the lesser of two evils. If Hillary wins thats not so bad......the shooting will start much earlier than expected. The tree of liberty is thirsty, it longs for the blood of tyrants and patriots.

Jeff, I'm curious. You refer to the Fed as being illegal. Now I may not be up on my 9/11 conspiracies, but as a Finance major, I became quite familiar with the Fed. Everything from its major functions to the first, middle and last names of the left-handed red-headed stepchildren of the last few Chairmen have been highlighted and studied by myself in agonizing detail. Most people I debate this topic with seem rather confused about the true function of the Fed, and what its purpose, and limitations, truly are. Your post smacked of elitism ("public school educated"), so I would trust that you have something better than a reference to "Money Masters", another nutjob documentary from back in '95 that purports to outline the dastardly deeds of the fed, to back up your claims.

Fiat currency? What other solution would you suggest? Every developed nation in the world uses this system, as its the only one that can actually work. The US has over half a trillion dollars in circulation within the states alone, making things like precious metals and the like a little too scarce to use.

So, please, tell us how Bernanke truly is the Dark Lord who will bring the world unto its knees, and how your goober of a candidate is the only sane man in a world gone mad.

#23 - Posted by: G8r on August 27, 2007 07:02 AM
