Awesome
Posted by Frank J. at 09:09 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (10)

Hagel, the Senator I've most wanted to punch in the face, is retiring. That's awesome. He could likely be replaced by Democrat Bob Kerrey who I think would be a huge trade up from Hagel. I know I'm supposed to be a partisan hack and should be upset of the possibility of losing a Republican seat to a Democrat, but I respect Bob Kerrey and totally opposite of respect Hagel.

Kos tried to calm his denizens about Kerrey by noting that, other than that he's for the Iraq War, he's a pretty solid Democrat. Can't you say the same about Lieberman, who they hatesy?

Oh yeah; Lieberman is a Jew. They hate Jews.

Just like Osama bin Laden.

Who they sounds a lot like.

Or vice verasa.

Amen to a punch in the face.
I have conversed with his answering machine several times in the past four years and I for one am glad to see the Punk go.
Don't scare me with Kerry. I don't like him and never will. We need your support for John Bruehning ( spelling?) he seems to be a solid conservative and would be a good compliment to FRED.

A few nights ago, my husband and I (who live in Nebraska) had an amazingly romantic, wonderful evening together. The next morning I got up, read the news and said "After the awesome-ness of last night, this can't possibly be happening to me. It's too good." Hubby, who cares little about politics, now believes I'm completely insane but completely funny.

We don't hear much about Bob Kerry these days. I agree, we could use more Democrats like him. Where are the "good Democrats?" They seem to be mostly gone.

It's about goddamn time. Hagel gives Nebraska Republicans (such as myself) a bad name. My pop was concerned til up to the last minute that Hagel would say he was running for POTUS. And I agree with you on Kerry. He's not such a bad guy, for all that he has a D behind his name.

Bob KERREY. Not John KERRY. That extra E in the last name makes a HUGE difference.

Bob Kerrey is a decent democrat. He is still too liberal on most issues, but he would be solid against terror. And, being a Nebraska democrat, he might surprise you with a more moderate/conservative stance on some social issues.

But, speaking of Lieberman... what I would like to see is another contested primary where the D's run a KOS-approved far-left anti-Bush anti-war peacenik to stop the Iraq War-supporting Kerrey from winning. Then, just as with Lieberman, see a lopsided Kerrey win as an independent.

(No, "lopsided Kerrey" is NOT a reference to his artificial leg. Unlike John Kerry, Bob KerrEy actually FOUGHT in Vietnam, actually suffered INJURY in Vietnam, and actually EARNED his medals, including the CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR. I would never make a leg joke.)

Our apologies, Gullyborg, and to the great Democrat, KerrEy. We're all so used to typing it the other way thanks to that traitorous nitwit, John Kerry. (I shuddered just typing it!)

That's ok, Jimmy, I threw up a little in the back of my thoat reading it.

I was going to suggest that he still needs a good punch in the nads...but then I realized who we're talking about here and Hillary is the only RAT running with a pair so he still needs to get punched in the face!

It's okay to make leg jokes, Gully. As a leaner myself, I make fun of my handicap constantly. I'm my biggest bully. :-)

I used to wonder why the libs and the rads were so in love with each other and then it dawned on me. They take their orders from the same source.

Chaos vs. order
Right vs. wrong
Violence vs. peace
Stereotyping vs. equality

Who is the party where there is no wrong. If there's no wrong, there's no right.
Who is protecting those who want to kill us, burn our cities, rape our women and children and "relocate our heads".
Which party is a collection of disparate groups of "individuals" who don't want to be part of the whole.
And who uses Chaos to get their agenda enforced.

Just saying.
