People Respond to Whether the U.S. Military Should Kill Terrorists
Posted by Frank J. at 04:49 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (31)

Many people liked my editorial yesterday called "I Think the U.S. Military Should Kill Terrorists (Redstate even had it on the front page), but some people didn't like it.

I will respond!

* * * *

Mirror writes:

INSPIRING!! So I guess you'll be down at the recruiting office this afternoon to sign up, then. But why did you wait so long?

Did you even read the article? It wasn't called "I Think Frank J. Should Kill the Terrorists." You are very stupid if you couldn't understand the point of such a simply argued editorial. You should check that the toys you put in your mouth don't have lead paint from China.

* * * *

SplendidOne write:

I don't think it our government's job to kill anyone who is not actively involved in planning, and has the real-time potential to conduct, or is actively involved in conducting terrorist activities against the United States.

You already lost me. You need to write in short clear sentences like me.

Even with real terrorists, the job isn't to kill them it's to protect us from them. Killing is one way to do that; it's not the only way. And killing them seems to be messy, in that lots of innocents also get killed. (FYI, "brown skinned people who aren't Christians" is not a definition of "terrorist.")

Obviously you don't have the new edition of Websters.

Funny how the our oh-so-effective military can't seem to get the number one terrorist - Osama bin Laden.

So we should get rid of the military because they haven't killed one particular terrorist out of a million? You're stupid.

If you aren't going to volunteer, get trained, and go out and kill terrorists while in the military, how about contracting with the Bush administration to get Osama for us?

I think you're sucking on the same toys as Mirror.

I bet that one individual, even starting out untrained, given, say $50M and unlimited spending authority on it, could find and kill bin Laden within a year.

I bet you're retarded. I literally bet a thousand dollars on that.

Oh, wait, I forgot, Osama's "not important" anymore. :)

Lead poisoning can affect memory.

Steveo writes:

I have an idea!

We should give soldiers police authority! That way, when they aren't at war, we could have hundreds of thousands of extra policemen all around the country. The military should be in charge of police. After all, they're trained in just what police officers do everyday: handle weapons and kill criminals. Crime would be way down, for sure.

Makes sense, doesn't it??

Are all the criminals in the U.S. actively plotting to kill us right now? If so, then you have a point. Otherwise, you are retarded.

Ever notice how people who comment here to disagree with me tend to be retarded?

So only those willing to sign up for the military can say the military should kill terrorists. O.k. lets let those in the military vote on the plan for Iraq. I would bet money, and lots of it, that those serving would agree with Frank on this one.

I personally can't serve for a number of reasons, but I thank God some do choose to and would be fine with listening to them on this.

And they better not be using my tax dollars to pay for the helper monkeys that these posters must be using to access the internet. They certainly don't display sufficient brain capacity to have the necessary motor functions to type on their own. Hell, the helper monkeys are probably making their posts more rational than they otherwise would be!

#2 - Posted by: Master Shake on September 13, 2007 05:03 PM

I'll bet a dollar to a donut that NONE of those stupid people are capable of taking out a terrorist that shows up on their front lawn. Or a park in Dearborn. But there are some of us out here that have the skills, judgment, sense of responsibility, and the courage to do it. We just hope that the military will do their job and nail as many of the T's as they can "over there."
The monkey-faced whiner hippies may beg for their lives and be willing to pay the dhimmi tax, but as for me, if I succumb to the terrorists it will only be when I run out of ammo.

#3 - Posted by: on September 13, 2007 05:06 PM

So you DO read all our comments! How unnerving!

#4 - Posted by: Jimmy on September 13, 2007 05:07 PM

We need more of these hate comment/mail posts. Seriously dude, abso-frickin'-lutely hilarious.

Now that you mention it, they do seem to be retarded. Funny how that is, aye?

#5 - Posted by: Hazel on September 13, 2007 05:09 PM

But you know, Frank, without those people to disagree with, just think how much less fun you'd / we'd be having.

By the way, your comments text box should allow HTML strikeout tags. Their use is often humorous.

#6 - Posted by: Jimmy on September 13, 2007 05:14 PM

Retards are always funny...always will be funny!

#7 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on September 13, 2007 05:17 PM

What an insult to retards. Even an anacephalic has more grey matter than those idiots.

#8 - Posted by: Fiftycal on September 13, 2007 05:18 PM

While it's true that not every brown-skinned non-Christian is a terrorist, the OVERWHELMING majority of terrorists ARE INDEED brown-skinned non-Christians. So, better safe than sorry, no?

#9 - Posted by: bunkerboy on September 13, 2007 05:24 PM

And Frank really IS the gentlest of souls.

You already lost me. You need to write in short clear sentences like me.

Shorter sentences and and shorter posts. We're working on it, Frank.

(and some of us are having laughter-induced strokes here...)

#10 - Posted by: Jimmy on September 13, 2007 05:34 PM

As a future member of the US military, I would like it noted that I will be really amazingly peeved if somebody doesn't let me kill terrorists when I'm done with my BA.

#11 - Posted by: Thursday on September 13, 2007 05:42 PM

Ooo, ooo! Me, me, me! Oh, uh... whoops. I thought you were asking for people to go out and kill terrorists. Sorry, my mistake. Is it OK if I go out and punch some memorial-desecrating, flag burning, pot smoking, small manhooded hippies instead?

#12 - Posted by: khart208 on September 13, 2007 06:09 PM

I feel a bit cheated. I was in the middle of boot camp when Gulf War I started and ended the same week so I did not get a chance to kill Iraqis that invaded Kuwait. I got out of the military 5 years before 9-11 and my inactive reserve time was up 3 years before. Since Slick Willy told all of us not to worry about Bin Laden's boys and focus on Right Wing Milita groups I got fat and lazy and to old to return to service. So once again I got cheated out of killing folks.

I would love for the government to give me 50 million and a year and I would gladly try and hunt down Bin Laden myself like one of those brain steams suggested. However even if I found him since I would have to report to the government I would just tell them I havent found him yet and tell them that another 50 million would sure help me out.

Hey that kind of thinking works for Congress should work for me.

#13 - Posted by: Derek, Lord of the Commentators on September 13, 2007 06:26 PM

I disagree with you Frank (and am only slighlty retarded.)

I think the citizens of the USA (and all other places) should kill the terrorzits. The citizens should be given a medal named the "I popped one" award.

That way the military could focus on the people who could really bring down the Western people. Judges, lawyers, poloticians and socialist teachers.

#14 - Posted by: SkyWatch on September 13, 2007 07:05 PM

Using the same moonbat logic that says non-soldiers aren't allowed to support the war:

You can't support health care unless you go to work at a hospital.

You can't support the punishment of crime unless you're a cop, judge, or lawyer.

You can't support a field of science unless you've got a science Ph.D.

Your can't support feeding the hungry unless you work in agriculture or a grocery store.

I believe the society suggested by this is called a technocracy: rule by the experts.
Like most things it sounds lovely in theory, only those qualified to make the decisions would be allowed to make them.
The ugly flipside is that we're talking about something that, if put into practice, would give any "expert" a large degree of immunity from criticism by any "layperson".

#15 - Posted by: George guy on September 13, 2007 07:50 PM

Is there something wrong with killing terrorists? Is this now politically incorrect?

#16 - Posted by: katablog on September 13, 2007 07:51 PM

I know it's not really needed but I have to point out that the job of the military is to "break things and kill people". The job of the terrorist is to "kill us". Since when is it bad to kill the people who want to kill us.

I don't think Conservatives are drinking the Koolade. I think the libs are not just drinking it they're bathing in it.

#17 - Posted by: seanmahair on September 13, 2007 09:46 PM

I don't understand why libs say that if you support the war then you have to sign up for the military. I support my local football team, but that doesn't mean I have to go out and be a linebacker.

#18 - Posted by: slapout on September 13, 2007 09:49 PM

Just imagine all those whiners out there who are even too retarded to manage to find FrankJ's comment box. The mind reels. I figure someone probably has to go out to their houses and log on the commenters on Dummie Underground.

#19 - Posted by: JorgXMcKie on September 13, 2007 10:10 PM

As a father with a mentally retarded child, I am sensitive to the misuse of the term "retarded."

I promised myself years ago to never read blogs written by people who use the term in a derogative manner.

While I have enjoyed your site for several months, this is my last visit.

Thanks for the laughs. Too bad they had to end today.

#20 - Posted by: A dad on September 14, 2007 12:22 AM

A dad-

You've been reading this site for months and this is the first time you've seen the word 'retarded' used here in a derogatory manner? What were you reading all these months, the blogroll?

#21 - Posted by: Rick on September 14, 2007 12:32 AM

Dear Dad -

...and you wonder why the kid's retarded?!

P.S. You didn't buy that phony sob story, did you?

#22 - Posted by: bunkerboy on September 14, 2007 07:19 AM

To paraphrase Carlos Mencia, when the term retarded is used it doesnt refer to someone that is born metally disabled, but it refers to someone that was born just fine and are now retarded.

If someone choses to completely abandon logic and willing acts like they have situational tourettes whenever you mention Bush, Iraq, terrorism, etc. then they are infact retarded.

As someone who has the privalege to work with special needs kids at my church I would never use the word retarded to discribe one of them. However when someone with a otherwise healthy brain and body choses to be a complete dumbass and intellectual dishonest then I will call them retarded.

#23 - Posted by: Derek, Lord of the Commentators on September 14, 2007 08:08 AM

Geeeze! I thought libtards were all into "Satire." I guess for them it's only satire if its not funny.

On the plus side though, it is pretty funny to watch them froth at the mouth and chase their tail when they comment from their "moral high ground" to us dumb hicks.

Their sense of humor and their intelligence are on the same level.

P.S. If one may not comment on the war unless one has joined the military, then perhaps we should invoke the rule that one may not comment on an idea unless one has had an original idea. I'm sure that there are quite a few libs that have, in fact, had an original idea...however they, the ideas, probably died of loneliness.

#24 - Posted by: FormerHostage on September 14, 2007 08:41 AM

I'm not worried about getting all the terrorists killed -- I know it will happen. How do I know?

ONE DAY THERE WILL BE FRED THOMPSON.

#25 - Posted by: James on September 14, 2007 12:18 PM

So, having gone down to the proverbial recruiting office and signed up in 2003 (after the invasion of Iraq), would I then have "legitimacy" to make the claim that the US military should kill terrorists? Because I'll be to advocate that strategy. Further, let's refine it: I think the WA Army National Guard should kill terrorists, specifically my own unit.

Oh wait. We did that last year.

Well, I think we should be allowed to go back and do it some more.

Sig

#26 - Posted by: Sig on September 14, 2007 12:28 PM

I think liberals just don't think. Ever. Many retarded folks probably think a lot more, and have better ideas.

What was the last thing a liberal did to make the country better? I mean besides dying?

#27 - Posted by: COPioneer on September 14, 2007 02:36 PM

1) For the record, I tried to sign up in 2001. I was too old. 2) If you must sign up to have an opinion about the war, what the hell are they doing mouthing off at Gen. Petraeus? 3) If you have to be military to support the military, shouldn't you also have to be military to critic it? 4) How many of these whiney libs who hate Iraq but think we should invade Darfur are gonna run down and sign up for that?

#28 - Posted by: Raving Lunatic on September 14, 2007 05:36 PM

//I feel a bit cheated.//

Yep, same here, I was in the Air Force during the clinton regime. Twice during my time repairing computers that didn't break down, installing Minesweeper for the civillian bosses, closing Griffiss, and picking up cigarette butts, el presidente tried to not pay us. Thankfully, the republican congress at the time kept us in fundage. And all that time I only got to fire an M-16 four times and slick willie dodged out of every chance we had to kill terrorist. I think if I were as physically viable now as I was then, I'd love another shot at strangling some heartless sandpeople.

#29 - Posted by: shimauma on September 14, 2007 09:09 PM

I have to admit, A dad's comment (#20) is funny:

Frank compares people who disagree with him to retarded people, and as it turns out, it actually is insulting to retarded people.

#30 - Posted by: Bob in Feenicks on September 14, 2007 11:55 PM

All I can think of to add to this whole 'retard' thing is...

Stop hitting yourself!
Stop hitting yourself!
Stop hitting yourself!
Stop hitting yourself!
Stop hitting yourself!
Stop hitting yourself!

I notice that recently a few 'politically incorrect' words are making it back into the media, such as gay (ghey) and retard. I find that refreshing. I think it's part of the 'oh no here comes that damn pendulum again' thang.
