Ronin Profiles Open Casting
Posted by Frank J. at 05:51 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (90)

I needed to take a break for a day on Ronin Profiles, but I plan to keep it up as long as there are people to profile. If you wanted to be in Ronin Profiles but haven't been featured yet, just comment to this post. Make sure to fill out the e-mail field (only I get to see that) so I know where to send the questions to.

#16 - Posted by: Spunkdanger on September 13, 2007 07:33 PM

please profile me, look i slay hippies.

#17 - Posted by: SlayerofHippies1980 on September 13, 2007 07:39 PM

Long time reader and lurker, would love a shot at the questions. And the hippies.

#18 - Posted by: dariakus on September 13, 2007 07:41 PM

I would like to do it.

#19 - Posted by: Brian the Adequate on September 13, 2007 07:42 PM

In the interest of representing the senior Ronin, I volunteer. Will you get any answers besides "we're almost there" or "not now you'll spoil your supper" or "because I said so"? We'll see...

#20 - Posted by: GrannyBoo on September 13, 2007 07:44 PM

I must confess, I am typically a Lurker, but at least a daily lurker. At your service, my liege.
What's that smell?

#21 - Posted by: howlsatmoon on September 13, 2007 07:49 PM

Ooh Ooh, pick me, pick me, I have a great jump shot.

#23 - Posted by: Forensicator on September 13, 2007 07:57 PM

I like pie. Mmmmmmmm pie. Want pie now!!!!

Or, I'll settle for a profile.

#24 - Posted by: LC Scotty on September 13, 2007 07:58 PM

I haven't commented here since before you got married, but I damned well expect to be moved to the front of the line. Does that make me seem more like Hillary! or the REV Jesse?

#25 - Posted by: Sticky B on September 13, 2007 08:01 PM

I am too busy and important to be profiled, tap me when you are out of "lazy blog citizens" and need an "important professional" person.

#26 - Posted by: Bob the Doc on September 13, 2007 08:31 PM

Oh oh, Mr. Kotter!

#27 - Posted by: XMariner on September 13, 2007 09:28 PM

FrankJ,
Like all good Ronin, if selected, I shall faithfully wear my karate Gi uniform. Nevermind that, you know, I don't actually know any karate. Or that I have a big gut that would look silly in a Gi.

#28 - Posted by: azlibertarian on September 13, 2007 09:40 PM

not me!!!

But I would like to see some MFL and see how they respond.

#29 - Posted by: bobthemad on September 13, 2007 09:40 PM

pick me!

#30 - Posted by: Alli Kat on September 13, 2007 10:11 PM

Please pick Jimmy and Brian the Adequate. I'd love to read more about them. Not to sound too John Edwardsish. (shudder) And after those two, if you would honor me with your inquiry, I'd be, once again, your humble servant.

#31 - Posted by: Casper the Friendly Host on September 13, 2007 10:44 PM

If you pick me, I promise to go out an punch a hippie!

#32 - Posted by: dRoast on September 13, 2007 11:33 PM

This give me an opportunity to try this for now.

#33 - Posted by: AlanABQ on September 13, 2007 11:41 PM

If you find yourself scraping the bottom of the barrel, I can probably spare some time from re-reading my old Aquaman comics...er, I mean, punching hippies and killing monkeys (not necessarily in that order).

#34 - Posted by: APGarrideb on September 13, 2007 11:49 PM

Please, please, please let me be featured! I'll give you cookies!

#35 - Posted by: Luipaard on September 13, 2007 11:53 PM

I'd enjoy it, but by all means take your time.

#36 - Posted by: eldias on September 14, 2007 12:05 AM

I'm in.

#37 - Posted by: Rick on September 14, 2007 12:23 AM

#38 - Posted by: Abigail on September 14, 2007 12:49 AM

Frank, the barrel bushing on your 1911 looks kinda loose - I don't think you could hit a terrorist past 300 yards with that sloppy thing... Now pick me, or I shall be forced to taunt you again!

#39 - Posted by: innominatus on September 14, 2007 01:08 AM

Count me in.

#52 - Posted by: Evil Midnight Poster What Posts At Midnight on September 14, 2007 09:34 AM

As an early subject of The Ronin Profiles, I offer this warning: Your time in the limelight is fleeting. Cherish it. For all too soon, you'll feel the vast, looming emptiness that once held your celebrity, you'll have fever dreams of what you once were and it will gnaw at your soul. Don't become what I have, a pathetic, smelly has-been, sitting in a lawn chair in my empty living room, watching a black and white TV, drinking Listerine and eating stale Rold Gold pretzels, alone with my misery, and my cat, who is only waiting for my death so she can feast on my carcass. Beware, those of you who now seek the glory of Ronin!

Sayonara...

#60 - Posted by: Dennydog on September 14, 2007 01:43 PM

eh. i'm available.

#61 - Posted by: prolix on September 14, 2007 02:28 PM

I go by two names, keith and beez, so who knows if I ever agreed to this. So, now, I formally (and for the last and possibly, but not probably, first time) agree.

#62 - Posted by: beez on September 14, 2007 02:54 PM

I hate being last in line. Where's my 9mm? Humm??This crowd might shoot back, I better move up to the 50 cal and go for one good shot. (Just kidding)

Ok {command voice on} "All Monkey Faced Liberals out of the line!" {command voice off}
rats - that didn't work very well

Ok {excited voice on} "Look over there, Britneys getting out of the car and shes not wearing her panties!" {excited voice off}"
Of course nobody moved but I did hear someone say "Bin there, done that"

Ok last chance to move up...{honest indian voice on}Dear Frank and Sarah,
Pick me next and I'll clean your guns for a month....{honest indian voice off}

HAY for crying out loud pick me. I'm not getting any younger here!

Disclaimer: All promos and promises subject to availability.

#63 - Posted by: TheHat on September 14, 2007 03:27 PM

I'm last in line now, but I don't have a 9mm. Is my .40 Glock or one of my .45ACP's acceptable? I'll see how long I can hold out here. Maybe I'll get picked someday.

Caution: May contain peanuts. (ssshhh! I'm hunting monkeys!)

#64 - Posted by: ccso8462 on September 14, 2007 03:46 PM

Mr. Fu is not ronin, but he will consent to an interview by the illustrious Frank J..

#65 - Posted by: Mr. Fu on September 14, 2007 07:46 PM

I'd like to be profiled please. thanks

#66 - Posted by: ceann rua on September 14, 2007 08:30 PM

\Ro"nin"\, n. [Jap. r[=o]-nin, fr. Chin. lang profligate, lawless + j[^e]n (old sound n[=i]n) man.] In Japan, under the feudal system, a samurai who had renounced his clan or who had been discharged or ostracized and had become a wanderer without a lord; an outcast; an outlaw.

Let's do it by the numbers, kiddies; I have a very nice knife collection including my personal, well maintained KABAR,(Samurai),most of my family are "Dontknowcraps",(Renounced), the Beautiful Mrs.P,(wife),kicked me outta the house,(Discharged),her friends don't give me the time of day,(Ostracized),I have ADD and get easily distracted,(Wanderer),I really, really enjoy Frank n Harvey's humor, unlike my twoofer coworkers,(Outcast),AND, if you don't pick me,I'll steal your penguin.

You do have apenguin don't you? What's that smell?

#67 - Posted by: howlsatmoon on September 14, 2007 09:47 PM

If you don't profile me, I'll send Michael Moore to your house to explain why Cuba's health system is so much better than ours.

#68 - Posted by: Fosterdad on September 15, 2007 12:23 AM

I read IMAO daily... comment rarely. Should I be profiled? YES.

Why?

1. I wear my "Club Gitmo" T-shirt to work in a union shop, and no one as of yet has had the balls to comment on it. (Nor about my Iraq Veterans for Bush, etc. shit, on my truck.)

2. My commie-lib hippie Sister has not even spoken to me since the 04' election. Guess she didn't like the Che Guevarra T-Shirt for Christmas. (not that I mind this all that much... Still trying to figure a way to hippie-punch her in a way that will not get me talked about within the Family. Suggestions welcome.)

This is a mere taste of my Lib-Crushing abilities.
Oh.... What the hell. I'll throw one more out there...

3. I moonlight as Fred Thompson's STUNT DICK!!!

#69 - Posted by: paragon27x on September 15, 2007 02:10 AM

I already asked, but I figured I'd do it again...even though my commenting has rapidly dropped off since going off to college, since I've been too busy learning about the awesomeness of Western Civilization and other such stuff at my amazingly non-hippie-infested school.

#70 - Posted by: Oromin on September 15, 2007 06:20 PM

Wow. Frank J. would really talk to ME? Awesome!

#71 - Posted by: vol_907 on September 15, 2007 09:27 PM

If you pick me I will tell you my life story and make your wildest dreams come true.

If your wildest dream is hear my life story.

We can break the ice now, that Ron Paul is a kook eh?

#75 - Posted by: Canerican on September 17, 2007 10:45 PM

#78 - Posted by: seaniep on September 19, 2007 10:25 AM

I am not Ronin. I mean, I have my own clan I drag around with me everywhere, but I do own a few sets of swords. That's gotta count for something.

#79 - Posted by: Cullen on September 19, 2007 11:02 AM

I would still like to be profiled.

I do not have a little 9mm, I have a manly 45!

#80 - Posted by: Elvenbane on September 19, 2007 11:18 AM

OK, I'm in. School teachers aren't all DemCong traitors.

#81 - Posted by: MAJ Mike on September 19, 2007 01:36 PM

Oh, yeah. I also own the "finest close-quarter combat weapons system known to Man -- the M1911A1" which I carry with my Texas CCL.

I fenced saber and epee in graduate school and own a replica Patton Saber.

I think I qualify.

#82 - Posted by: MAJ Mike on September 19, 2007 01:40 PM

Posting here just because I can; Reading here because I like to.

#83 - Posted by: Olepharte on September 20, 2007 10:08 AM

riddle away.

#84 - Posted by: keywork on September 20, 2007 11:01 AM

Why not? I've never won anything in my life, so I may as well sign up for this and keep the disappointment coming!

#85 - Posted by: theboomanchu on September 20, 2007 02:51 PM

me too! me too!

#86 - Posted by: mykidsmommy on September 20, 2007 05:11 PM

*waves hands about*

#87 - Posted by: heypete on September 21, 2007 02:12 AM

I am very confused. Do I post here even though I already asked? Do I not post here, because I am already on the list? Do I dare take the chance that I will miss out on the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a fool of myself for the entire planet to see?

I had best not risk it, so here is my request to be profiled by someone besides the F.B.I.

#88 - Posted by: Lily on September 21, 2007 07:53 PM

Aha! I found it at last!

I hereby submit my application to Ronin Profiles.

#89 - Posted by: Frank Voikel on September 23, 2007 01:18 PM

*Raises hand from somewhere near the back*

Yes, I'd like in on this.
