Trying to Follow the Logic

The lefties are saying you can't trust what Petraeus says about the war, because he wants to be President some day.

How's that work for Hillary, then?

I would love it if Petraeus became President... right after 8 years of the coming Thompson administration.

Hmmmmm...

I guess the *only* person we could trust on Iraq would be George W. Bush. I don't think he's planning on running for President.

Well see, if you don't trust Hillary she will devour your soul.

Of course we can trust Hillary. She never lies. As a matter of fact she wouldn't recognize a lie if she saw one.......

Which actually explains a lot about why her marriage to Billy Boy is still intact.

Hillary doesn't want to be President, she wants to be Emperor.

Actually, I floated the Petraeus presidential idea at EU Referendum--a British blog, and one of the more influential ones, for those who don't read it-- right after he gave his report to Congress. That blog has had some of their stories poached by other British newspapers. The Independent, if memory serves, is a very left-leaning tabloid rag of dubious reliability. I'm seriously wondering if they saw my post at the EU Referendum forums and then manufactured a story around it.

Anyway, he would be an ideal candidate. He graduated in the top 5% of his class from West Point. He's had command positions in a long string of infantry and mechanized units, as well as command staffs. He earned a masters and doctorate in international relations from Princeton University, served as an associate professor at West Point, and completed a fellowship at Georgetown University. He also happened to have literally wrote the book on counterinsurgency for the US Army. The guy also happens to be tough, to quote from his Wikipedia entry, "...in 1991, he was accidentally shot in the chest during a live-fire exercise when a soldier tripped and his rifle discharged. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee, where he was operated on by future Senator Bill Frist. The hospital released him early after he did fifty push ups without resting, just a few days after the accident." Let's face it, as a candidate, he would steamroll anybody who ran against him. Oh, you can also read Peggy Noonan's Wallstreet Journal piece about him here.

Let's really mess with the moonbats and renew the idea of Gen. Schwarzkopf for President!
