MSM: Crushing the Little People
Posted by Frank J. at 02:26 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (33)

An seventy year old man is forced to kill twice in three weeks to defend himself (the police had been no help in the numerous times he had called them before about robberies). He was clearly within the law both times -- as the police said -- but of course a local new reporter decides he's the villain and ambushes and reduces him to tears:

Now, Rebecca Aguilar has been suspended since this first aired, but how in the world did she watch this tape in the first place and not realize how horrible a person she appears to be? SarahK's theory is her producer hates her and made her run the segment to try and get her suspended.

Hopefully all this publicity will at least convince criminals to stop trying to rob the poor guy.

Doesn't Texas require you to own a gun? The police should give his guns back ASAP.

I'm moving to Texas. Where I live, that man would be in jail now instead of free to buy another gun to protect himself.

The reporter is lucky she didn't get shot. The "Castle Doctrine" in Texas gives a citizen the right to protect themselves in their homes, vehicles and places of work. She was practically in the guys car and verbally "assaulting" him. Texans have finally gotten tired of being victimized by thugs and are starting to do something about it. The way the country is going, it won't be long before a free standing militia protects the citizens from adversaries both foreign AND domestic (i.e. money grabbing politicians, liberal reporters, muggers, thugs, etc.).

Old Geezer... my invitation still stands. If you've got 'em, bring 'em. The more boom sticks the better in my opinion.

I sure like the way you think, Texaspartan. That's the beauty of this website. We get to meet people we KNOW would make great neighbors. A pleasure...

#3 - Posted by: Old Geezer on October 18, 2007 03:50 PM

What an evil left-wing bitch. A typical Democrat. Always trying to make America safe for felons.

#4 - Posted by: RA on October 18, 2007 03:56 PM

It's too bad the reporter didn't try to interview him at the scrapyard, at night, climbing over his fence...

#5 - Posted by: Andrew on October 18, 2007 03:58 PM

Texas is a beautiful country.
Lil' Miss Aguilar is a well known cheap shot reporter. Hope the tramp bleeds long and hard.

#6 - Posted by: Dick on October 18, 2007 03:58 PM

LAL...........Laughs A Lot?

Nope. Lock and Load. I absolutely can't friggin' stomach what passes for "journalism" and "reporting" nowadays.

What a load she is. And I don't mean double ought.

This is terrible. This guy just shot two people and is probably feeling realy guilty about it and he has to have some reporter ask him if he likes to kill people?

On a positive note: tis guy owned two shotguns and was buying a third. He is well prepared.

#8 - Posted by: Pantera on October 18, 2007 04:32 PM

Scum. Just scum. Where was that guy who cut down the Mexican flag a couple weeks back? Heck, that guy woulda cold cocked that b____

#9 - Posted by: KeithP on October 18, 2007 04:47 PM

What is complete crap is that she won 2007 Journalist of the Year. Just shows what kind of sorry people run the media. I live just a few miles from Mesquite and I will never be able to watch KDFW again if they don't fire ths woman.

#10 - Posted by: skyronin on October 18, 2007 04:56 PM

I agree with Andrew--number 5. And what is sad is this newsperson is with Fox, the more conservative, (cough) of the local stations. That poor man. Was this the same one Paul Harvey was talking about int he Dallas area that was alerted by his parrot? The police took the granny's gun away too for "evidence". Remember the granny that shot the intruder in Arlington between Fort Worth and Dallas? Stalking that man is a crime, isn't it?

#11 - Posted by: Joyce on October 18, 2007 05:17 PM

I can't say what I really think of this scum reporter, my son reads IMAO, too. Maybe Andrew said it best in #5.

#12 - Posted by: ccso8462 on October 18, 2007 05:32 PM

Rope-Tree-Journalist, some assembly required.
Remember when reporters actually had to investigate stories. No, me neither. I'm betting that this sick
libtard will be giddy if something bad happens to this poor man.
Recently in my area an economically-challenged wealth-redistributer climbed into an electrical sub-
station to liberate some copper. Boom. Now his family is suing the power company. What the Hell is wrong with this Country?

#13 - Posted by: hippyhater on October 18, 2007 05:57 PM

You white people make me sick. Do you have any idea how hard it is to stalk a 70 year old veteran? I almost let loose a big ole taco beaner fart which would have alerted Mr. Watson. My cover as a bitter criminal supporting liberal might have been exposed! Rebecca Aguilar

#14 - Posted by: Rebecca Aguillar on October 18, 2007 06:31 PM

You know, it literally hurt watching that. But I remember thinking when I saw the first report about him shooting an intruder, and it mentioned that the police had taken his gun for evidence, that he had better own another one because the news just told all the criminals watching that he didn't have the first one anymore. And if I hadn't once worked at the DA's Office, I wouldn't believe that they're even going to the grand jury with this. Grrr.

#15 - Posted by: cknight on October 18, 2007 07:04 PM

darn youtube pulled the video!!

#16 - Posted by: bobthemad on October 18, 2007 07:57 PM

Anyone have a mirror of the video?

#17 - Posted by: Rubeus on October 18, 2007 08:32 PM

I am cutting and pasting from something I wrote on lindasog.com

I have worked at local television affiliates, and I am a little confused at the suspension, there are more people involved with this getting on the air then just her. Minus the weather, sports, commercials and chit chat there is 10-15 minutes of time devoted to the news segments. There are several people involved in getting the story on the air. There is an assignment editor who tells the reporter to go out and get story such and such, a reporter can suggest a story and if approved they can take the time to do that story but the assignment editor tells what reporter to cover what story.
There are video editors, usually the camera man who edits the video for the most drama and effect.
There are producers that organize the news cast and see which stories are important and where they fit into the newscast, they also can drop stories and make changes.
And then there is the news director who is at the top. They may or may not be involved with each newscast but they are in charge of the news room.

Getting this story to air took the entire newsroom, not just one reporter.

#18 - Posted by: DoubleU on October 18, 2007 08:41 PM

Someone at the station was tired of her s**t and let this run. Give her enough rope ...

#19 - Posted by: Ninth Stage on October 18, 2007 10:13 PM

Skyronin; Gore wins the Nobel and you wonder how this hack could win Journalist of the Year?

#20 - Posted by: DixieKraut on October 18, 2007 10:32 PM

A couple of comments. The station thought that Aguilar's tape was just fine, until the complaints started coming in. Then they were amazed. Since courage isn't a part of modern journalsim they threw her over the side. Remember reporters don't talk to ordinary people, they exist in the rarified atmosphere.

Also, when a homeowner shoots a crook most Police Departments won't just take the gun used for evidence but all the guns in the house. Since crooks usually have friends and reletives this may not seem too smart to us but the police work for local politicians. The DA will almost always demand every gun.

Try to have at least one gun off premises,

The media hardly EVER exerts copyright on a on the air video.

What is FOX 4 trying to hide?

#24 - Posted by: Joe West on October 19, 2007 10:35 AM

Good point, #15. He probably got robbed the second time precisely because they knew his gun had been taken by the cops. Well, if any good can come of this, at least now everyone knows he keeps buying new guns! If it was my business, I'd put up a sign on the fence that said, "Yes, I'm the guy from Fox4 who already shot two of you mo-fo's!"

#25 - Posted by: Andrew on October 19, 2007 11:55 AM

I want to adopt Mr. Walton as my new Granddaddy & nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize!

Or elect him to office? Maybe just get him a giftcard to Wal-mart so he can keep stocked up on ammo. Or just have someone smack that woman for being such a punk-ass...

Mr. Walton is Awsome!

#27 - Posted by: Joyce on October 19, 2007 07:00 PM

Joyce--Walton was not the guy with the parrot; that was yet another courageous citizen here in the Dallas area. You could say that it's been a good few weeks for the Good Guys out here.

skyronin--Aguilar won 2007 Hispanic Journalist of the Year, which is a crock in and of itself. As others have noted elsewhere, can you imagine the outcry if someone awarded a "White Journalist of the Year"?

And now the organization that gave her that award is demanding her reinstatement. This sounds like another case of someone defending a person because of her ethnicity, no matter what type of horrible thing she's done. As a society, we really need to move past that kind of thinking.

#28 - Posted by: Kev on October 20, 2007 02:02 AM

It apparently didn't occur to her that this guy already gave two varmints a dose of Lead Karma, and could've been willing to do so to a bitch reporter (redundancy alert).

I would've kept slamming the door into her until she backed off.

Hang her.

Fucking bitch.
