Time for the Tide to Turn
Posted by Frank J. at 04:14 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (14)

We had a great debate that made me more confident in all our frontrunners. The "defeat at any cost" crowd is losing steam. Pete Stark once again demonstrated how whimpering and weak the Democrats are. Now Fred Thompson has just released a new enforcement-centric plan on combating illegal immigration that's sure to please the base. I'm starting to think the Republicans getting some momentum.

Of course, with all the seats they have to defend, Republicans are going to need freight train momentum just to keep things as they are, but we should never overestimate (underestimate?) just how weak the Democrats are no matter how much power they hold.

"freight train momentum"

Would that be Michael Moore, Al Gore, Rosie O'Donnell and ThunderThighs herself on the same train?

Whoa. Great editing, Frank. That's putting words in Sarcasm's mouth that are funny for a change.

Finally, a lawyer/politician that doesn't believe we need 10 new laws passed because the old ones were not enforced.

I think if they had let Ron Paul have two minutes to speak, he would have ultimately exploded. This was also the first time I got to hear Mitt Romney speak. Ouch. I actually rank him down with "Empire" Paul now. Sheesh.

I was disappointed at the lack of bloodshed. The next debate should be at twenty paces.

I appreciate your optimism, Frank, but I'm gonna wait before popping the champagne (ok, sparkling California wine) cork. I think in the end, regardless of the Republican nominee, we're going to see another tight electoral vote contest, coming down to 100,000 votes or so in a so-called swing state. The best thing about the last debate was the focus on Hillary: she's going to be a great get-out-the-vote tool for Republicans.

I butterfly startled me so I'm staying inside today.

This "attrition" thing Fred talks about...
meh...
As the San Diego fires have proven...the illegals fear flames.

We need a wall...a wall of fire!

All across our southern border.
And the northern border too!

We could fuel it with used tires and styrofoam and the bodies of protestors!

Really? Hollywood Freddy Thompson is your pick?

Is your plan to let Hillary win and hope she takes so long cleaning up the Chimp's mistakes that clowns like you can drive another wedge through our country in 2012?

Freddy Thompson isn't going to win anything except for a shuffle board game in Palm Springs.

[Wow! You sure convinced me of my mistake with your insightful commentary! -Ed.]

What'd I say about cheesecake?

#11 - Posted by: AR on October 23, 2007 07:12 PM

Well, then, Lawnmower Man, you've got nothing to worry about except brushing up on your shuffleboard skills.

#12 - Posted by: Old Geezer on October 23, 2007 07:17 PM

The minute the tide starts turning the GOP's way another gay senator will leap out of his closet.

Lolz on the cheesecake monster AR.

Can we misoverestimate them?
