I am almost embarrassed to admit I laughed out loud when I read this. Does this mean I am a totally hopeless nerd or what?

[I thought of it in the car and had to share. I just think it's funny to envision anything with the word "cracker" in it as a ethnic slur being said by an angry black man. Like the restaurant "Cracker Barrel". -Ed.]

I don't get it at all....

Yer all a bunch of crackas.

Fight the Power(Man)!

Yeah, I didn't get it either... I suppose you need to know who Luke Cage is.

From the comments, I'm assuming he's an angry black guy. Correct?

Ohhhhh wait! Is it that Black Panther dude who recently had that protest? Alright, now I get it. It's funny. Heh.

Yo, Firecracker, Fizzle, my Nizzle!

Oh, I'm going to hell for that.

Luke Cage is Power Man. A black superhero from a late 1970's Marvel comic book. I remember it being pretty good. I won't try to get one and read it now and spoil the memory. It might be as bad as watching an old Battlestar Galactica or Lost in Space episode. I thought those were good then too. Ouch!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Cage

"A streetwise youth, Cage was sent to prison for a crime he did not commit. When Cage thought his strict law-abiding father died thinking his son a criminal, Luke Cage underwent an experimental procedure that granted him titanium-hard skin and superhuman strength. Cleared of his crime, he became a “hero for hire,” although, as a plot device, Cage was always forced by conscience not to take any money for his deeds."

Heh, I should of just wiki'd it right away.

Oh. Whoops. Shoulda known that. For shame, Hazel.

Why's everyone double-posting?

#10 - Posted by: Hazel on December 6, 2007 11:33 AM

Luke also often teamed with Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist. I'll leave it to others to try to work a tortured "Atlas Shrugged" joke into the thread.

I don't recall Luke Cage ever using that term. I remember him referring to The Torch as "dat ignitey whitey" every now and then. You know, for a badass, that sure was one gay, puffy yellow shirt he wore...

Check out the times on my double post. 30 minutes apart. The page didn't reload and I had a new tab open, so when I saw it still open I figured I forgot to post it... So you know, I have a good excuse.
