John Edwards can't walk through a clothing store without feeling a cramp of bitter envy while passing by a "size 3" rack.
What a small, small man he is!
He finds, though, that he can always assuage that envy be buying something frilly.
I'm confused. I thought he already had a size 3 rack.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA John Edwards says that if elected president he would withdraw the American troops who are training the Iowa fashion designers and hair stylists as part of a broader plan to remove virtually all American forces from Iowa within 10 months.
Mr. Edwards, the former senator from North Carolina who is waging a populist campaign for the Democratic nomination, said that extending the American training effort in Iowa into the next presidency would require the deployment of tens of thousands of troops to provide logistical support and protect the advisers.
"To me, that is a continuation of the occupation of Iowa, something I voted to authorize but now feel deeply deeply sorry for," he said in a 40-minute interview on Sunday.
And then, as his campaign bus rumbled through western Iowa, he sneezed on everyone aboard.
