According to Zogby's latest.

Maybe I can spare the people of Iowa. We'll see tomorrow.

The recent McCain surge defies logic to the point of not being believable. Fred finishes third (or second). Period.

Mary Matalin is on fox and says that Thompson is the only conservative choice! Also, that the numbers are looking good to Fred, because people are beginning to see that.

GO!Fred

Iowan's aren't stupid (this isn't Arkansas after all) and they know a conservative from a pretender. Fred will do much better than the panty-wearing limp-wristed mainstream media types are predicting...

"Maybe I can spare the people of Iowa. We'll see tomorrow"

Well, if, hypothetically speaking, I was building some kind of device involving nuclear material that created some kind of powerful force, would it be alright, theoretically speaking of course, if I activated in Iowa anyway?

#4 - Posted by: AR on January 2, 2008 05:23 PM

My hope is that the good people of Iowa (notice I didn't include the Democrats?) show the d@mned main scream media their place by their refusal to write Fred off as unelectable/lazy/lacking "fire in the belly" when they caucus tomorrow.

It would be so nice (not just because I want Fred as the next POTUS) to see the voters demonstrate that they are smarter than the propaganda machine and capable of making their own choices of who the best choice in the field.

Of course this would be very sweet, because if Fred does do better than the MSM's expectation (say second) then the stories will have to be of the surprise resurgence of the Fred campaign, rather than how lazy/unelectable/etc. he is.

Is it too late for a scandal to hit the Huck campaign?

Hey! 4% that's mighty good. Can Fred Thompson get a round of applause please? Go Fred Go! Mighty Fred Thompson stomping and fighting. Kick'n ass and moving up by teeny tiny percentage points. Look out everyone Fred's got a huge 4% surge going on. Watch out John McLame you are about to get swept up in a massive 4% Thompsonami! Woah. GO!

Jack Bauer gets out of jail on January 28, the day before Florida's primary and just in time for Stuper Tuesday this year. My guess? On January 29, Fred causes time to skip ahead one year by announcing Jack as his running-mate, and we suddenly find ourselves living in a tax-free, crime-free, liberal-free, and terrorist-free 2009.

Ugh, I figured someone else would do this, but it doesn't look like it so............

Heheheh, Ron Paul is doing better than Giuliani. Haha. Now if only he can double his support, he wont be caught in a landslide loss.

#10 - Posted by: Rubeus on January 2, 2008 08:03 PM

Frankly, I'm a bit tired of caring what people in Iowa think.

#11 - Posted by: Son of Bob on January 2, 2008 09:11 PM

Several media machines haven't covered Fred, this is obvious. But the reason for this is even more obvious -there simply aren't enough hippies in Iowa. Once hippie punching commences en masse, then they will have to have coverage.

#12 - Posted by: erg on January 2, 2008 10:33 PM

91% of "America" thought Florida would beat Michigan............so there is still so much hope for Fred. Fingers crossed here in Ohio. I hope those Hawkeyes know what they are doing :) (assuming all Iowans are UofI fans)

#13 - Posted by: Backofdabunny on January 2, 2008 11:12 PM

to #12. I cant WAIT till hippie punching commences. That is the main reason I am a FDT supporter. 4 to 8 years of Punching hippies and Titans football. My dream world.................

#14 - Posted by: Backofdabunny on January 2, 2008 11:14 PM

And if they don't vote for Fred, we all know what Iowa stands for: Idiots Out Wandering About.

#15 - Posted by: Oromin on January 3, 2008 01:56 AM

I'm tired, but I want to say something I've been thinking about when I hear about Fred not working hard enough to get votes.

Why does Fred have to woo voters more than he has? He hasn't been in politics for a few years, so his voting record is well established. He HAS done some speaking at various places. He's employed use of the internet.

The point is that Fred's campaigning tactics are not the real fault. It's the voters who are at fault. PEOPLE WANT THOMPSON TO MAKE UP FOR OTHER PEOPLE'S UNWILLINGNESS TO GET INVOLVED IN POLITICS. You can listen to the blather of ANY of the candidates continually for months on end, but all that matters is the facts; candidates (as we all) can lie through their teeth . . . . or *koff* not be forthcoming about themselves. Talk is just that, talk. People are going to have to actually *look up* who the candidates really are . . . when they're not whoring out themselves.

Speaking of whores: maybe I'm jaded, but I think a good portion of people here in American WANT to be pandered to. They want promises as if a promise is magical and will be fulfilled because the voters' hearts burn white hot for their candidate.

Fred's campaign rests on three things (listed in order of importance): interest in Fred, interest in politics, and money.

Maybe Fred! needs to run stark nekkid a few times to get attention. But, I don't think he needs that sort of attention. >_>;

I'm too afraid to get my hopes up again. I know that Fred has the true conservative ideals we need and I REALLY wanted him to come in and kick ass, but he has not performed on the campaign trail. We need him to really act like that guy he plays in the movies!
I want him to walk into a Clinton campaign appearance and pistol whip the bitch...

#17 - Posted by: BLC on January 3, 2008 03:20 AM

Maybe there is some hope for the future (except for hippies). GO FRED!

#18 - Posted by: MJ on January 3, 2008 08:35 AM

My faith began to falter, but I still tell myself when all looks bleak and grim: ONE DAY THERE WILL BE FRED THOMPSON.
